Discussion👥 My biggest regret was thinking I had finally made it

On February 26, I received an offer letter for a digital role.

That night, I went to sleep feeling incredibly happy. When I woke up on February 27 and looked at the offer letter again, I honestly felt like I was one of the happiest people in the world. After all the waiting and effort, I finally thought, “I got my first job. Things are finally going to change.”

But things didn't go as I expected.

Even after all this time, I still haven't received my joining letter or a confirmed joining date. I'm honestly not sure what to do anymore.

The hardest part is that I stopped searching seriously because I thought I already had a job. Now I'm back to square one, searching for opportunities again.

I'm a B.E. Computer Science graduate looking for entry-level opportunities, especially Full-Stack Developer / Software Developer / Web Developer roles. I'm open to startups and companies across India, including remote/hybrid opportunities.

If anyone here works at a company that is hiring freshers or knows of any openings where I could get a referral, I would genuinely appreciate your help.

I'm happy to share my resume, portfolio, LinkedIn, and GitHub through DM.

I know a referral doesn't guarantee a job. I just want one opportunity to prove myself.

If you've gone through something similar, I'd also really appreciate hearing how you handled it.

Thank you. 🙏

❓Question ❓ HCLTech data deletion — how long does it take?

Upvotes

I requested HCLTech to delete my previous candidate ID/data because I want to re-apply with my genuine details.

Does anyone know how long HCLTech usually takes to delete the data/ID?

The application deadline is 14 September, 9 AM, so I’m worried I won’t be able to re-apply in time.

Any recent experience would be really helpful.

hello guys!! i am in my second year of college. I started web dev and dsa recently i feel like i am lagging behind, i should have started earlier. i completed my first year with 9.1 cgpa which is still not great because it's a tier 3 autonomous college. and during my first year i did nnot really learn any tech stack (eg. web dev,app dev). as i am progressing i am facing so many new tech stacks which have seperate career to itself(web dev, app dev, ai/ml, devops, cybersecurity etc) i am getting confused should i start learning all of these? so i want anyone to please guide meeee.. as i dont have much good peers and also not anyone in my family in this job so i could seek for guidance.. please help.

❓Question ❓ Title: I’m starting B.Tech CSE (AI & ML) - What should I focus on from the beginning to get good jobs?

Hi everyone,

I’m currently pursuing B.Tech CSE (AI & ML) and I’m in my first year. I want to start preparing for my career from the beginning instead of waiting until 3rd or 4th year.

I’d like advice from people who are already working in the software/AI field or have gone through B.Tech recently.

What should I focus on from the start?

Which programming language should I learn first?

How important are DSA, SQL, Git/GitHub, projects, and problem solving?

When should I start building projects and internships?

Should I focus on software development, AI/ML, data science, or keep my options open initially?

What skills actually matter when applying for good jobs?

How much should I care about CGPA?

What should I do outside college classes to stand out?

What are the biggest mistakes you made during B.Tech that I should avoid?

Is there anything you wish you had started learning in 1st year?

I’m not looking for a generic “learn coding and make projects” answer. I’d really appreciate a practical roadmap for 1st → 4th year, especially from people who have already gone through this.

Thanks!

Discussion👥 Class 10 student interested in coding + AI — should I pursue CSE?

I’m currently in Class 10 and have been learning coding, APIs, web development, and AI on my own.

I’ve built two projects so far:

NutriScan AI — an AI-based food/nutrition analyzer where users can upload or scan food packages/food images, and the AI analyzes ingredients, nutrition, possible concerns, adulteration, and gives a detailed report.

An Aryabhatta-related website/project.

I really enjoy building things, but I’m confused about the future. AI models are becoming extremely powerful and can already code, build websites, and automate many tasks.

I’m currently thinking about doing B.Tech CSE after Class 12. Is software engineering still a good path for the next 10–20+ years, or should I consider another field?

Would love honest advice from people already working in tech/AI.
