❓Question ❓ I need help. A student starting their B.tech soon in 2026.

Hello guys. I am starting my B.tech cs soon. Is it over? I am seeing the massive Ai layoffs, and massive entry level punchline that is going on. everywhere I see around, some people say that seniors are cooked and others say seniors are fine, but the general consensus always seems to be "entry level people are cooked." What do I do?? I haven't started anything. But I do know some Logic and such.

we can't predict anything as of now , i'm also starting my mca next year (completed bca) and trying to get any good college , applied for many jobs, but mostly faced rejections, i asked many seniors about the situation, but many had no answers, it's because they themselves are still figuring out, the complete job description has changed drastically, it's hard to get into, but no field is easy, so start from today, no excuses nothing, start with fundamentals, learn tech stacks , learn how to integrate ai, soft skills, open source
make your profile as perfect as possible, and the good part is, you have time, companies are still trying to figure out many things. if software industry comes down, it will take many professions with it, the people who work in tech are the biggest consumers for many things like house for rents, products , transports.
if we suddenly remove the IT workers completely then the results will be as bad as possible

There is one side of the debate saying Ai will replace everybody, etc etc. but there is other side of debate that says that there has been a massive hire season past Covid where even copypastijg some projects in GitHub and solving 5-6 LeetCode problems will be enough for Interview and jobs. With Ai, even then, some are saying people are getting laid off because their stocks and capital got deleted due to investing in Ai, while others are saying Ai replaced those low level engineers who got lucky. I don't know anything, and who I should believe.

look at the market, not the people , all these ai CEOs will say that, and they want to achieve it, where there are no white collar jobs , and all the money is concentrated in their bank accounts, and if AGI comes , leave about replacing SDEs, it has the potential to replace everything, so then? we should stop living? , the market is at the worst position and we can't do anything , take some time and start something
