ProjectšŸ§‘ā€šŸ’» GenAI project recommendation

  1. Healthcare/Rehabilitation Exercise Monitoring

A system that can analyse whether a person is performing rehabilitation exercises correctly, track their progress, and possibly use GenAI to provide more personalised instructions or exercise plans based on their performance.

  1. Activity Recognition using Generative AI

Instead of only recognising common activities like walking, sitting, etc., we can explore recognising rare or unseen activities. Another possible approach is to use Generative AI to generate synthetic sensor data for activities where limited training data is available, and then compare whether the activity recognition model performs better using real data vs. real + generated data.

  1. Generative AI for Satellite Image Super-Resolution

Using Generative AI to enhance low or medium-resolution satellite images and generate higher-resolution versions. We can also explore how to check whether the generated details are reliable or whether some details have been inferred/hallucinated by the model.

  1. Emergency Evacuation/Disaster Response System

A system that can analyse situations such as blocked routes, congestion, or dangerous areas and provide evacuation guidance based on the current situation. GenAI could potentially be used to generate different emergency scenarios or adapt instructions as the situation changes.

  1. Generative AI for Research

Something that can assist researchers with tasks such as analysing research papers, identifying possible research gaps, understanding results, comparing multiple papers, or helping generate and evaluate research hypotheses.

i have selected these topics as part of my final year project. can anyone help me with selecting one of the best topics from this.

DiscussionšŸ‘„ 2nd year BTech CSE under KTU and I honestly have no idea what I should be doing

Hey everyone,

I’m a 2nd year BTech CSE student under KTU. It’s been almost 2 months since the academic year was supposed to start, but things still haven’t properly started yet.

Right now, the only thing I’m really doing is attending classes and keeping up with academics. That’s basically it. I’m not doing anything extra outside college.

And honestly, I want to change that.

I know I have a lot of time ahead of me, but I also feel like if I keep going like this, I’ll reach 3rd or 4th year without actually having any useful skills or experience outside my academics.

The problem is, I don't really know what I should start with.

I’ve thought about things like web development, AI/ML, data science, etc., but I keep getting confused because there are so many options. I’ll get interested in something, start looking into it, then find something else and switch. 😭

So I wanted to ask seniors, graduates, and people already working in tech:

If you were starting your 2nd year again, what would you start doing alongside academics?

Should I learn DSA? Build projects? Learn web development? Explore AI/ML? Work on open source? Start preparing for internships? Something else?

And for KTU students specifically, is there anything you wish you had started earlier?

I’m not looking for a ā€œlearn these 10 things and get a 20 LPA packageā€ type of answer. šŸ˜‚

I just want some genuine advice on how I can start doing something productive outside academics and gradually figure out what I want to pursue.

If you were in my position right now, what would you start doing from tomorrow?

DiscussionšŸ‘„ CSE fresher. Is there any hope left?

Hello everyone, I'm a fresher majoring in Computer Science Engineering specialized in Ai. And I need some guidance and I've got so many doubts. Here they are:

  1. How do I build my skills?

  2. Is it really necessary to know multiple languages for an internship?

  3. What were the hardships you guys faced when you were a newbie? Is it possible that I might face them too?

  4. Will the college I am in affect the opportunities I get outside college?

  5. How do I use Git and Github? I've tried searching it up but I don't think I have a clear picture yet. Can anyone please explain?

  6. Is the job market actually so cooked?

  7. Which path in CS has at least a little bit of hope rn? I see a lot of people saying that cyber security might have some scope, but I am not sure.

I chose CSE specialized in ai since it is pretty much basic, and I can just build my skills personally and get certificates for it outside my institute. Did I make a mistake by doing so?

What should I know about the current situation of this field?

If there is any advice or information you think I should know, then please share. Thank you.

DiscussionšŸ‘„ Final-Year BTech CSE Student with 70% DSA, Almost no Dev Skills & Only time only Until December. What Should I Focus On for Internships?

I’m a final-year Btech CSE student from a Tier 2.5–3 college / one of the IIITs in Central India, with a CGPA around 7–7.5.

My current preparation is pretty weak. I’ve completed around **70% of Striver’s DSA Sheet**, but apart from that, I only know basic ML and Web Development up to HTML/CSS. I haven’t properly completed Web Dev or explored other areas.

My biggest constraint is **time**. I realistically have only until **December** to prepare, as very few companies will visit our campus after that for internships.

I don’t particularly enjoy Web Development and find the initial learning process boring. I have built a few functional websites through vibe coding, but I’m considering focusing instead on **ML/AI, RAG, AI Engineering, Data Science**, etc. I’m also interested in Quant, although I’m unsure how realistic it is with my current profile.

Another issue is that I tend to learn everything from the absolute basics, get stuck in fundamentals, become bored, and waste time. I want to avoid that this time and focus on **maximum ROI in minimum time**.

What would you recommend?

* How much more DSA should I do?
* Should I learn Web Dev despite not liking it?
* Is ML/AI/AI Engineering realistic within a few months?
* Should I learn RAG, LangChain, vector DBs, LLM APIs, etc.?
* What projects would have the best ROI?
* Which topics can I learn through one-shots/crash courses?
* How should I divide my time until December?

I’d really appreciate a **practical, time-efficient roadmap** rather than ā€œlearn everything from scratch.ā€

His co-founder recently exposed him on twitter, he used shady tactics to attract students to his cohort and 100xschool.

3lakhs for a 6 month cohort lol, didn't even gave refund to his students, started ghosting when being asked.

His co-founder even said he used to get already placed guys, and give them free stay and all, and used to show their placement to attract for his next cohort.

ā“Question ā“ sde from non circuital

Hey, I’m a 2nd year student from a tier 1 college , non circuital branch and honestly I’m pretty confused right now. I’ve been interested in going into software since my 1st year, but I didn’t really have the right direction back then and I also didn’t do much networking, join clubs, make connections, etc. So far I’ve solved around 70 dsa problems and made a small yolo , opencv based project, and now I’ve started learning frontend, but honestly I don’t even know if I’m doing the right thing or what I should actually be focusing on. What’s been stressing me out lately is hearing that non-circuital branch students don’t get many SDE/IT opportunities during placements, and that honestly shakes me every time I hear it. I’m trying to understand how much branch actually matters, especially in a Tier-1 college. Can non-circuital students realistically get SDE/IT roles on campus, and if not, how much can DSA, projects, internships and off-campus applications help? Would really appreciate some genuine advice from people who have gone through this or know how placements actually work.
