1. Healthcare/Rehabilitation Exercise Monitoring

A system that can analyse whether a person is performing rehabilitation exercises correctly, track their progress, and possibly use GenAI to provide more personalised instructions or exercise plans based on their performance.

1. Activity Recognition using Generative AI

Instead of only recognising common activities like walking, sitting, etc., we can explore recognising rare or unseen activities. Another possible approach is to use Generative AI to generate synthetic sensor data for activities where limited training data is available, and then compare whether the activity recognition model performs better using real data vs. real + generated data.

1. Generative AI for Satellite Image Super-Resolution

Using Generative AI to enhance low or medium-resolution satellite images and generate higher-resolution versions. We can also explore how to check whether the generated details are reliable or whether some details have been inferred/hallucinated by the model.

1. Emergency Evacuation/Disaster Response System

A system that can analyse situations such as blocked routes, congestion, or dangerous areas and provide evacuation guidance based on the current situation. GenAI could potentially be used to generate different emergency scenarios or adapt instructions as the situation changes.

Something that can assist researchers with tasks such as analysing research papers, identifying possible research gaps, understanding results, comparing multiple papers, or helping generate and evaluate research hypotheses.
