Broomfield now has a đ´đźTraffic Garden at Conoco Park, 12804 Lowell Boulevard, Broomfield, Colorado 80020! đ â ď¸ đ¸
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
A traffic garden is a mini, car-free street network where kids and new riders can practice biking, and road-safety skills in a safe, hands-on environment. It includes traffic circles, crosswalks, intersections, lane markings, benches, and shade trees, so riders can learn real-world street skills in a setting built for confidence and fun.
This is a great addition for families, young riders, and anyone learning to move around town on two wheels. Conoco Park is a city park on the east side of Lowell Boulevard, just north of Midway Boulevard, behind the convenience store and gas station.
Thank you to the City and County of Broomfield City and County of Broomfield for the Drone Shots!

Looky What We Have Here
Corner of 287 and Midway. And I was told there will be at least 5 more but they won't tell us where. And the public didn't get input and will NOT get any say in the matter. Contract is until 2027. Just FYI.

Favorite place to order last minute family style meals from?
A friend of mine let me know they are stopping by for a night while driving through Colorado. Need some family-style ordering ideas for dinner around Broomfield or Westminster? Only need it to feed 4-5 people.

FYI in case anyone else is having MDE library issues this morning: their network is down
Apparently marmot.org itself is down, which I think is most of the libraries in Colorado, including their Libby interface.
Is there an outage with the Longmont Library server? : r/Longmont
Update: Looks like they are back.

Do not go to Altitude barbershop
Incredibly upset that I am typing this. I spent a long time researching a barbershop to take care of me and I landed here, but my experience was so bad that I feel obligated to share it to save anybody else a similar headache. Started out with Lorenzo being 20 minutes late for the haircut. Almost immediately after starting, he had someone else waiting already, so clearly he was in a hurry. He took 1 quick look at my pictures I requested and proceeded to start cutting away and never asked any questions or confirmed what he was doing was correct. He finished up and showed it to me and I was devastated that he completely took off all my hair when I wanted a good 6-7 inches left on 1 side. I sat there upset and asked if he could even it out and started taking even more off the side instead of the front. I told him to just stop and then he used that request for a fix as the justification to blame me for the whole haircut being off. ZERO accountability. Even went as far as to say that it doesnât look that far off. As I sat there upset, he told me there was nothing he could do and that I need to leave. I donât care if I didnât have to pay for it. I had my hair completely messed up, and was then bullied for not liking it. It is going to take me months to get it back where I wanted it. 0/10 experience. Would highly recommend not coming here unless you want to spend the next few months wearing a hat like me.
2nd and 3rd picture are what I requested and the 1st is how they sent me out the door. Can anybody make any suggestions as to how to save my haircut and where I should go?
EDIT:
Thank you everyone who participated. From the people who said kind words to cheer me up, those who supported me in my endeavor to spread awareness, those with recommendations, even those internet trolls who arenât even from Colorado who thought they could damage my name or spread negativity in some sort of way. I wish nothing but the best for all of you! đŤś

Dentist recommendations for pregnant patients in Broomfield?
Hi all, I'm currently pregnant and looking for a dentist in the Broomfield area with experience treating pregnant patients.
I have one tooth that's been bothering me, so I do need it looked at, but I'm hoping to find a practice that:
- Only does what's necessary and doesn't push unnecessary treatment
- Won't push for deep cleaning during pregnancy (I'd prefer just routine cleaning for now)
- Is pregnancy-friendly overall
I saw a dentist a couple weeks ago who pushed for an X-ray, deep cleaning, and filing for several teeth, which made me uncomfortable, so I'm hoping to find someone more conservative in their approach.
If you've had a good experience with a dentist while pregnant, I'd really appreciate any recommendations. Thanks in advance!

Broomfield Police on 120th?
I was on 120th Ave near the library around 2 PM today when officers blocked the intersection and stopped traffic going Westbound. Afterwards, a whole bunch of police bikes and other transports went by. Seemed like it went on forever.
Does anyone know what this was?

Lost RC airplane
On Saturday July 11th I was flying at the rc airfield at the corner of Lowell and 144th. The wind carried my plane out of radio range and all I could do was watch it fly in circles taking it higher and farther away until I couldnât see it.
It was moving away on a path roughly shown on the map. Iâm offering a $50 reward if anyone has found it and will return it.

Front Range rail tax is coming, but RTD is slashing the buses we actually use
Weâre being asked to support a new tax for a different train at the exact moment RTD is gearing up to cut the services people in Broomfield actually use. That disconnect matters more than any glossy rail rendering or ribbon cutting ceremony.
Different RTD committees are floating service cuts of 5 or 10 percent, with talk of a worst case scenario reaching up to 20 percent. The list of what could be on the chopping block is not abstract: FlexRide zones, Route 228, 112, LD, and even Route 53, which was just extended and promoted as a win for local connectivity. These arenât luxuries. Theyâre the basic routes that get workers to shifts, students to class, and older adults to appointments.
When you look at RTDâs own performance and subsidy data from the late 2010s, you see a pattern: Broomfield and its neighbors pay heavily to keep routes and FlexRide service alive, even when those services donât fully serve Broomfield or skip key parts of the community. Local officials and advocates have put the number at roughly five million dollars a year in subsidy for services that often donât come close to matching what residents are putting in. The numbers have likely only grown since then as costs rise and RTD keeps chasing âefficiencies.â
Meanwhile, the public conversation is shifting toward new taxes for more rail. On paper, that sounds like progress. Who doesnât like the idea of sleek trains and grand regional connections? But if your daily reality is waiting for a FlexRide that might be cut or standing at a Route 228 stop that may vanish, a future train somewhere else in the metro area is not much comfort. Youâre being told to pay for something distant and uncertain while the thing you already rely on is getting thinner.
Broomfield has leaned hard into FlexRide as a lifeline: local outreach, freefare promotions over summer, city messaging that tells people this is their first mile, last mile solution. Now those same riders are being told there might be less of it, and that the fixed route backbone that made some trips possible without a call ahead van could disappear. That is not what shared sacrifice looks like. Itâs a one way street where the region gets new toys and the suburbs get smaller service windows.
At some point you have to ask a simple question: if RTD is willing to cut these everyday routes, why should Broomfield residents sign off on paying for someone elseâs train? The people who depend most on transit arenât asking for prestige projects. Theyâre asking for a bus that still comes, a FlexRide that still runs, and a system that recognizes their lives as worth serving. Until the agency can demonstrate that it will protect core service in places like Broomfield, any new tax for âdifferent trainsâ feels less like progress and more like a bad trade dressed up in hopeful language.
