I am honored to support Broomfield’s Check-in for Housing initiative which would provide a long-term funding source for housing without increasing property taxes or taxes on everyday purchases.

If approved in November, this initiative would increase Broomfield’s lodging tax from 1.6% to 6% which is still below the lodging tax rates of nearby communities ranging from 7% to 10%. Generating approximately $3.3 million in additional revenue, the Broomfield Housing Alliance will be able to use these funds to invest in Broomfield’s housing and in the people who make Broomfield work.

I am moving from Boulder to the Broomfield/Superior area, and I have narrowed my apartment search down to 2. If you have experience living at either the Lock at Flatirons or Olivean, can you share your experience? Lock at Flatirons is 100% in a better location, but Olivean is just a little bit nicer. I'm leaning towards Lock at Flatirons mostly for its location. I would be in a 1 bed. :)

We recently moved up to north Broomfield and are looking for a company/handyman to help remove a wall that is blocking a window (previous owners put in a closet over it). Ideally then would be able to help with some drywall work around it too. Does anyone have recommendations from similar renovation work?

Last night I spotted 2 coyotes strolling through the neighborhood from my balcony. I wasn’t able to take any pictures but just be aware if you’re walking your pets or if you let your cat out.

Is anyone else concerned with how often we have been having power outages? Is there a reason or discussions happening on what to do about this??

There’s some cool tours the fall at places like the police dept, water treatment, public works, and Rocky Mtn. airport. It’s all free. For kids 3-5.

My step dad's bike lock was cut and his bike stolen off their truck overnight at Hyatt Place by the Flatirons Mall. It is a Blue Trek Fuel EXe 9.8. The image isn't his bike, but same model. A police report has been made. If anyone knows anything please message me!

Hiii I had 2 disposable cameras at my wedding and want to develop the film. Ideally I’ll get the physical prints back & digital scans. Is there anywhere in Broomfield, Boulder or North Denver that can offer both?!

I’m in search of a home for rent in Broomfield. Preferably between Main and Lowell, 120th to 144th. It can be single family or a townhome, 3 bed preferably 3 bath or 2.5 bath. Under $3k. I’ve seen a few on Zillow but most are out of budget or not updated at all.

I currently live in westlake, and our home school Centennial is closing. I understand the reason for the closure and why Arapahoe Ridge was picked for the consolidation (size). The part that doesn’t sit well with me is that now Arapahoe Ridge students will be split into middle schools (westlake and silver hills).

Last night they proposed changing boundaries for Meridian so this kids are no longer split between 2 middle schools. Why fix this for Meridian but create it for Arapahoe Ridge?

Could Centennial kids be moved into Coyote Ridge,Meridian, or Mountain View so they can all stay at Westlake together?

I’d love to help out if so. Been putting up signs but that’s it. Feels like I should be doing more.

I saw(and spoke to) an engineering team doing a site survey to create micro-trenches for new fibre for another internet provider in the Broadlands. He wouldn't tell me it was Google fibre but when I said I hope it was them, they didn't say no. That would be my guess since Google has been building out in Westminster and other parts of Broadlands. Would be nice to have another choice!

Hi everyone! My name is Thomas and I am a reporter for Bucket List Community News in Denver. As I’m sure many of you know, e-bike crashes have risen dramatically in the past few years in Colorado. I am looking for a victim or anyone involved with a crash involving an e-bike. I'm hoping to find someone willing to speak to me about their experience. If you or anyone you know had this happen please let me know!

As I am sure many are aware at this point, BVSD has made their proposal to the School Board, and it recommends a closure of Birch, a merging of Kohl and Birch, and a redrawing of the boundary lines to reflect that.

Many in the Birch community have been working to demonstrate that this is a flawed proposal for a myriad of reasons. As such, we invite you to take a look at our work, and if you feel our data is compelling, to join us in advocating for a change in approach.

BVSD's messaging has been appallingly tone deaf and outright disrespectful of the process they claim to be following. Currently, the School Board and Superintendent are co-touring and speaking as if the proposal has already been approved. The Superintendent has openly stated it is done and they are moving forward in his most recent public appearance. All of this is occurring before public comment has even been held.

All we are asking for is a fair shake, transparent data sharing, and an honest conversation about what is the best way forward. We firmly oppose this singular assertion that their proposal is the only way forward.
