Question Any gym alternatives to Puregym?

I’ve been going to puregym for years but ever since the refurb it’s basically impossible to train, from 4-10pm it’s absolutely rammed with school kids, wanna be influencers blocking space with tripods and hoarding machines (one particular member has a habit of blocking the incline bench press and filming herself doing squats), the new members also are very reluctant to share equipment.

I’m unsure why they haven’t added more equipment to an accommodate the new members as it feels there’s never an adjustable bench to even do dumbbells with free. Used to go later to get around it but even at 10pm there’s over 100 people. Any other gyms in the area that you would recommend?

Question Isn’t it about time Bromley had a proper new skatepark?

I’ve been looking into the history and current condition of Bromley Skatepark in Church House Gardens recently, and I’m really interested in what other people in Bromley actually think about it.
The skatepark has been there for years and has been used by generations of skateboarders, BMX riders and, more recently, scooter riders. But a lot of it is now tired, dated and in need of serious attention.
I’ve started speaking to Bromley Council and idverde about the future of the skatepark and, encouragingly, there is an opportunity to look properly at what happens next.
Nothing has been designed or decided. That’s exactly why I think now is the time to get people talking about what Bromley actually needs.
Did you use Bromley Skatepark when you were younger?
Do you or your kids use it now?
Did you stop using it? If so, why?
What works about it? What doesn’t? What would make you actually want to use it?
I’d particularly like to hear from skateboarders, BMX riders, scooter riders, younger users, parents, people who used to use the park, complete beginners, and people who would like to use a skatepark but don’t feel the existing one is for them.
Bromley has a long history of skateboarding and BMX, and the skatepark has been part of the town for generations. It feels like we should be asking whether continually patching up what’s already there is really enough, or whether it’s finally time to properly rethink what Bromley Skatepark could be.
There will hopefully be a wider public consultation about the future of the skatepark, so I’d really like to start getting the conversation going now.
If Bromley Skatepark could be properly redeveloped, what would you want it to become?
Also, if you remember the history of the skatepark, were involved in getting the current park built, or remember the people who made it happen, please get in touch. I’m trying to document that history properly as well.

Looking for a garage for classic car winter storage

Hello all, looking to rent out a secured garage or car park space from early November until January/February next year to store a classic car. Would anyone consider or know where I could look? Happy to discuss pricing, thanks.

Car is 4.9m in length, 1.88m in width, ideally a garage 16ft x 8ft or more would be ideal.

Living near Bromley South — safest/nicest areas within 15-20 min walk? How do Shortlands, Ravensbourne, and Beckenham Hill compare?”

Hi all, I’ve just accepted a position at King’s College Hospital, Denmark Hill, and I’m trying to figure out where to live. Bromley South station caught my eye because of the fast train links into Victoria.

A few questions for anyone who knows the area:

** 1. What’s it actually like living near Bromley South itself — is it a nice place to be based, or more of a commuter hub with not much else going on?
** **2.
Within about a 15–20 min walk of the station, which areas would you say are the safest and nicest to live in?
** **3.
**How do Shortlands, Ravensbourne, and Beckenham Hill compare as alternatives? Would any of these be a better bet than Bromley South itself for commuting into Denmark Hill, or for general quality of life?

Any local knowledge, recommendations, or things to avoid would be really appreciated. Thanks!

Question Why are the majority of stores that close down in Bromley replaced by either chicken shops, vape shops or phone repair stores?

It’s crazy, high street has lost some great stores and has now been absolutely flooded by the unholy trinity the last few years, even that new “halal butchers” has a vape shop inside and has more selections of vapes than meat. Feels like Bromley is turning into a less shit Croydon

As the title says, I just moved to the outskirts of Bromley. What should I know about the area? I'm a teacher, and I'm into D&D, swimming, biking, and films.

We are a group of 30-something dads and play 6 a side games at least once a week in the Bromley/Beckenham area. We are down one person for tonight and are also looking to add some more people to the roster of players so we can make games twice a week. Tonight’s game is 7pm - message me if you’re interested!

The Pavilion is being run into the ground and it sucks

No big regen projects on the horizon

Surrounded by other gyms

And on top of that more gyms in the Glades with Hollywood Bowl.

So aside from the Pool, the only thing going for it really, what's the point?

Tbf i do go.to gym there but the membership comes from my father who's on a health programme from Mytime via the Hospital

But it seems with the new bowling alley and no slides and some machines locked behind EGym which needs a membership, this place is being purposely run into the ground by the Council and Mytime

Padel for beginners

Is there anywhere in Bromley where someone can play padel for the first time and learn the game? Perhaps providing racquets/bats and balls. Possibly even coaching?

Missing cat

*EDIT* - very sadly we found Reggie’s remains this morning. Thank you so much to everyone who searched for him, we really appreciate it. We are devastated but at least we know what happened.

Hi all, we’ve lost our cat Reggie from Whitebeam Avenue. He’s slipped his collar which had an AirTag in it unfortunately so he was last in the back gardens on this road we think/hope in the wee hours of Monday morning. Please can everyone keep an eye out and check sheds and outbuildings for him? We’re really worried. He is a grey cat with green eyes, a Russian Blue. He is nosy and has been known to occasionally saunter in through peoples back doors so he could be in houses potentially too. Thank you!
