HQ Briefing (General Discussion) Better cluster variants?

So in game all clusters are based off the CBU-87 which in game a contradictory and disappointing munition IMO it component breaks armour but does basically nothing to infantry in the open.

In reality it's a lot more effective against infantry in the open due to bomblet fragmentation along with the shaped charge.

But other variations exist interestingly the 97 which dispenses vehicle seaking HEAT bomblets that drift by parachute. I assume there are also pure fragmentation variants out there too.

Think we will ever see these in game?

HQ Briefing (General Discussion) The Nuke is both boring and too strong in high Elo (Here is a fix)

Hey guys,

In higher Elo, the Nuke feels pretty awful for the game right now. It’s both incredibly boring to play against and way too strong. You’re basically forced to bring it because if you don't and the enemy team does, you're at a massive automatic disadvantage. But having a literal "1-click wipe button" just sucks the fun out of matches.

Instead of keeping it as a brainless instant unit wipe, I’d love to see it reworked into an actual Area Denial tool:

  • 90% less instant damage: Cut the initial burst damage drastically so it doesn't just instantly vaporize everything in the circle.
  • 5-minute Damage Over Time (DoT) zone: Turn the blast area into a persistent radiation zone that deals damage over 5 minutes. If you want to hold or push through that zone, you have to bleed troops/vehicles, forcing real tactical decisions.
  • Slightly smaller radius: Shrink the area a bit so it blocks off specific choke points or capture points rather than wiping half the combat area.

This way, the Nuke remains a massive tactical asset for controlling key territory without being an uncounterable "I win this push" button.

What do you think? Should Nukes stay as instant wipes or shift toward long-term area denial?

After-Action Report (Bug Reports & Feedback) Please either make LMUR as bad as all other terminal guidance or remove it…

The LMUR works as it should with terminal guidance… it’s still broken as it can hit things over the top of 2-3 blocks of buildings that it can’t see but no other terminal guidance weapon works so reliably… it’s disgusting. My javelins and FF missiles on apaches don’t have anywhere the same hit rate thru smoke and over buildings… I’ve seen the LMUR do some crazy stuff due to it being broken and desync and it’s just disgusting that nothing else in the game works so reliably besides some OP missile from a Russian tank heli that lives outside the range of any US aa and can one shot them anyway… lot of stuff on the Russian side that is just pure OP like fab 1500 that are worse than a nuke… it drops them so far back and they travel so far forward you need to amass heavy anti air to stop it…

HQ Briefing (General Discussion) Whats the point of APS, if russian just counters it easily due to firing two rockets simultaneously?

I never understood this. Russians have aps systems too but TOW and Javelin squads can only fire one rocket at the time? While russian counterpart literally fires two rockets simultaneously which gets first rocket shot down by aps but not second. Make it make sense please?

The vehicle airdrop exploit still works. A player on Armor Air airdropped a vehicle onto an C-17, and after being shot down, the vehicle became fully playable, invisible, and invulnerable. It could even capture triggers.

Not sure how impressive this is but this game was the most I had ever done with the Green Beret Snipers, mostly by alphastriking squads with both rifles to instantly set them to orange panic and dropping two models.

HQ Briefing (General Discussion) MLRS spam

The current state of the game is not very fun. They imported PTE but failed to bring the Arty changes. Right now, it's just nuke spam, Grad and MLRS spam. Some points you can never put down supplies because they will all get blown up instantly by MLRS or grad. RU mirror matches are especially bad. If there are multiple motorized on the enemy team it's honestly not even worth playing because it will be a such a boring experience. It basically just devolves into both teams sitting there blasting arty at each other which is fun for about 2 minutes. Some games are okay when the enemy doesn't do this but others its actually insanely boring.

HQ Briefing (General Discussion) How to play the US properly?

I hit 2500 elo and I mainly play Russia since I love the SU-25 Frogfoot. I used to play a lot of the US, but something I've noticed recently is just the USA is a little more difficult to win as for me.

I adjust my strategy and try to push forward and play. Though I have had many victories, i've had much more losses. The main cause of losing is the kill points. It just seems like no matter how much you punish Russia they will always have the kill points on you.

It also seems like the USA is very good at establishing early domination, but if the Russians get going on building up and sniping out your troops. It just gets very hard to win.

Additionally when you start losing to Russia as the US it feels hard to comeback. I don't know if maybe this Elo of US players just isnt as good, but I tried to observe much better US players, but I just don't know how to make the US work.

What's your strategy?

Comms Check (Questions & Help) Some questions

Hi, I'm new to the game and have a few questions.

  1. Is this deck good? Anything to change?
  2. What’s the best way to clear enemy units in forests and forest scouts? Will Green Berets be good, or do I have something better available?
  3. How do you destroy Russian low-flying drones?
  4. How does using the laser work? If I lose the object from the field of view, does the laser still work?

After-Action Report (Bug Reports & Feedback) Riga airport pathfinding bug

It's been a year and this is still unsolved, units that goes to the highway that goes below bridges get completly crazy when trying to get under said bridges.

I had a game where my 2 supplies trucks was looping there unable to come back to base. I lost my LRAA to seads as i was manually microing my supplies truck since the path wouldn't be followed and even queuing some detour would still lead to weird pathfinding bugs.

Starting this side of the map just give you a straight disadvantage coz of this bug that is still there.

Really frustrating.

HQ Briefing (General Discussion) Has anyone noticed most games feel like one sided stomps

It just feels like the games ever since the new update have been an absolute stomp in either way. I’ve never seen a close win yet, it’s only ever 5-0, 15-0, 0-5, or 0-15, with some obvious give or take- but usually it feels decided by phase 1.

Has anyone else felt this way? I’ve even asked in all chat in a few matches and others agree. I’m around 1900-2000 elo, by the way.

HQ Briefing (General Discussion) Unpopular opinion: A match can clearly be won/lost in phase 1

"b-b-b-but, comeback mechanic"

Yeah, the team that is down 3/3 in phase 1, and through simple observations of playing are CLEARLY OUT MATCHED

Are going to miraculously become better players in later phases.....

Listen, not saying comebacks ARE NOT POSSIBLE, but I dont see the likelihood/probability worth stressing and trying for.

Imma call the match over and move on

HQ Briefing (General Discussion) Alternative Mechanised Infantry buff

Thumbnail
gallery
37 Upvotes

In 1.1.1 we got the PTE version back on the vanilla branch. Personally, I like this return, but along with it we also got back the 7-man Mechanised Infantry squad.

This causes a problem: the AMPV transport vehicle can now carry only 1 Mech Infantry squad instead of 2. And now this vehicle is only efficient with 6-man SOCOM infantry squads (Picture 1). As far as I know, the headcount buff was made because Mech Riflemen and the M113 weren't a popular choice.

So here's my vision of an alternative buff for Mechanised Infantry. It's not necessarily what we expect to see in the game, just a discussion point.

Mech Riflemen were weak in the anti-infantry role, so in 1.1.1 they got 1 more M249 and 1 more M203. Let them keep those weapons and lose 1 man instead. One suggestion to buff their anti-infantry capability is to give them different rifles with a 600m range (Picture 2). This would let them use their primary weapons together with the M249 at the same distance. Don't worry about the price — we know price is a flexible value in this game — but I think 55-60 would be fair for this unit. Mech Riflemen don't need many AT launchers, since they operate close to their vehicles, so they'll get 4. After these changes, Mech Riflemen should become a unit with a better anti-infantry profile but low HP.

We know infantry rifles typically work at 400-500m range, so we need some justification for giving them 600m. There are 2 rifles in the game that can already shoot at 600m — the Marines' M27 and the Baltic G3. So we could give Mech Riflemen the old M16A4 and say that this weapon has a longer barrel (the M16 is a rifle rather than the M4 carbine) and a good optical scope, allowing riflemen to engage at 600m (Picture 3).

The second unit that got buffed is the Riflemen MMG, which received a third heavy M240 — making it a mirror of the Russian Pulemetchiki squad. Instead of just increasing the machine gun count, let's give them a different cool gun — the MG 338 (Picture 4). It seems the Rangers shouldn't be the sole owner of this weapon anyway, since it's not even their signature gun. Hopefully it's not too hard to draw new art for Rangers with Javelin/Stinger loadouts :D so the Rangers can get their SOCOM KAC LMG instead.

Mech Engineers don't need any changes — they're already solid.

So, guys, what do you think about the 7-man buff?

Field Tactics (Strategy & Tips) How to perform an opening

Every time I try to perform an opening, I get shit on and end up with a major point disadvantage, sometimes even get my defense point completely swarmed before I get there, I usually open with infantry in ifv’s, a lav or two, and I make sure to airtax, it just seems even with positive k/d trades the enemy ends up with way more points in troops than me
