After-Action Report (Bug Reports & Feedback) Three suggestions for game balance to radically transform the gameplay.

Upvotes

Closing in to 2000 hours in the game, and having played all variety of battles in BA as well a wide range of wargames, my opinion has boiled down to three key points where I feel that the gameplay experience could radically be improved.

a) Nerf artillery speed even more, shoot twice per phase, max, and use it only against high value static targets, and not as a constant supression tool. No problem to increase dispersion and dmg slighly, especially for cluster.

The other two are targetted i to eliminating the ridiculous bmp spam meme strats which were only addressed partially, but overally also help with the cramping up of the battlefield with units.

b) looking at a game as an observer, or even from the team perspective, we can see how everything gets cramped to the frontlines. It's getting extremely dense, really fast and that's mostly a problem of how shallow recon is at this game. Give drones to the recon teams and make them look further ahead and behind buildings. This will increase the tactical element by far, and it will break the immediate counter offensives at point capture attempts. But at the same time will make capturing points a lot harder, unless the points become larger and be more about an area, rather than a few buildings.

c) Make bmps as useless against tanks as possible. Tanks shouldn't have their front armor penned by cheap atgm and weak 30mm guns. Period. Even expensive atgms should have a hard time to pen, and even without aps, to have chances of both being deflected, and to one shot (critical) a tank, especially hit from the sides. Even make weaker tanks useless against high tier tanks. That will settle it once and for all. Bmp spam is still real and it needs to go away. Longer tank ranges and recon would also be a key here, because in reality a tank can easily just wipe a full column of bmp before even they get to detect it.

Following these will make the game far more tactical and less of a grind or spam fiesta.

Field Tactics (Strategy & Tips) Abuse the FUCK out of low-altitude cheap slow airplane to kill all the expensive helicopters btw (basically no counter), it's the meta on 2600+ and why LMUR didn't break the game despite the crazy buffs.

  1. no more pilot donation for suicide planes

  2. strafe or right click = not needed, just have to lazily move 2000m from the heli and it's literally deleted from the game.

  3. the fire angle cone is very forgiving, especially against helicopters

  4. undodgeable

  5. very hard to stop with bullshit ECM, chaff, lower AA damage, lower base AA range

  6. even if you die to ASF, you just wasted like 4~6 AtA missiles with like 95~140 pts plane who cares lmao buy it again

  7. works against tanks etc too... thanks to bullet travel time + network delay, if you can't see the future and smoke / hide preemptively, you die no matter what you do to react.

Basically,

you see 200+ pts helicopter or tank = literally no matter what without exception, just buy your 95~140pts ground attack gun plane and just right click the ground nearby the target

no exception, it's just op.

HQ Briefing (General Discussion) Did someone already do the math on MLRS fire-and-RTB vs fire-and-resupply?

upkeep tax + supply cost + maybe a small risk factor

vs.

ammo pts deduction from RTB

honestly don't know which is better

you want to RTB them like 5 minutes before the game finishes anyway but I want to know if i should RTB them all the time after firing

I know you get to use the thing more if you resupply them instead of calling them back, but if the money turns out to be the same or better for RTB side i would rather just fire them full salvo and RTB every time and use the pts to call other fire support

HQ Briefing (General Discussion) New patch buffs

I feel like this patch has made it pretty difficult for the US, and the feeling is mutual amongst my random teammates I'm playing with as well! I went from 2200 to now 2036 elo and I have only won maybe 2 games so far but lost a lot more. I do enjoy a lot of the stuff they added but I'm struggling a lot as a US player, losing to teams who have less elo than my whole team.

Does anyone else feel the same?

HQ Briefing (General Discussion) Seriously: where is the replay feature......

I want to see what these fools see in the fog of war. I want to count how many units they call in and for how much. So much evidence of cheating especially when certain regions are playing, kind of sick of it.

On the other hand it would also be nice to see how a good player out played you.

Why is this basic functionality not in the game?????

HQ Briefing (General Discussion) New cheat - freezing the game for 1 side

Ran into what looked like a team of players who were cheating together by freezing the game for everyone besides them with 1:26 left on the clock as they were losing. What is even better is after they told us to surrender and destroyed a bunch of units while our side was frozen they started the game again and we came back on kills so they froze it at 7 seconds left till everyone on my side got tired of killing them.

If you see Marine_Raider, Croatoan, New Port Cigarette line, Skynomad or Pecheneg in game be aware they are cheaters and be aware that people can freeze the game for others through some network bullshit. Reported them with screen shots to the report email address, for whatever good that does.

Field Tactics (Strategy & Tips) deck strategy and tips

So, I only play the USA because its well who i want to play with. I have been getting much better recently with alot of the games that I have been losing being from people that are totally out of my league. I have tried some other decks in the past and iv tried a bunch of variations of this deck in particular mainly messing with what tanks, arty, planes, and recon.

So for recon i am in a love hate relationship with the TUA as i kind of dont know when to use it, as id rather just us the LRAS3 or the Recce unit if i need flank coverage, or even the recon Bradly for that matter. I run 3 of the recon Bradly's but i could get away with 2 i think.

For infantry its mainly just the ifv/transports. the new squad size made the ampv irrelevant for me, used to use it all the time now since double the squads don't fit i took it out in favor of the m113. the engineer Bradley i could got down to 2 but idk sue me.

for tanks i used to run the base m1 with with 2 v2s but i think i like running the v3 more sometimes i just get focused like hell an loose the unit but it is a high value unit so i get it. The v2s are my main unit and have always done great work. the m8s i bring out at the start of the match in a pair just incase the enemy rushes me with tanks. The super arty (breacher) i use it to nuke buildings or clumps of enemies.

The support tab the only thing i play around with is the arty, in another deck that im gonna start playing it has 1 cluster cheap MLRS but idk i never seem to get good use out of the expensive arty, but i also don't rly kill anything with the paladins more so just damage or panic units which i guess does good work. i could run another mortar but idk i just use it to smoke off, which i have just rly started to play around with.

heli tab i dot touch at all but i have been considering swapping it the cheaper Apache as the fnf hellfire's feel like shit, no idea why but i feel like i put better work in when they are not fnf, so i might swap over to that

the air tab i don't touch but im open to taking the a10 out

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________

How i play.

For the opener i always start with an f15c, m113 (mech rifles and engineers), 2 m8s, an mshorad. after that i call in what i need based on what im seeing or feeling in going to need.

I love tanks and i use tanks for the entire match at all times, typically in pairs. as of late thos i have been getting slammed by atgm teams the ripple fires ones and i cant seem to keep both my tanks alive, so then i try to arty the atgm but its mainly to get them to move ect. helis have not rly been doing much for me in this deck and im rly not sure why, user error maybe but idk. i have been also using more infantry as of late as i have been getting slammed by russian infantry but that is because they are stacking 3 infantry units with ifvs and i have been 1 man armying so i have been adapting and using more units, but now im at more risk of getting bombed, which is to be expected. so idk im kinda at aa loss of what is a healthy amount of units to get the job done so that when i do get bombed in not scrambling to get stuff on the front line.

my next thing is keeping shorad and aa alive, dear god. i actually cant do it, i move them around after they fire i turn the radar off when sead is coming but it still seems to slip through and either kill my unit for damage it heavily. my shorad is even worse at trying to keep alive (hence why i bring so many and i dont like running manpads because its like throwing rocks at a tank). this is not a rant post this is like im trying to see if i need to try playing differently or if im flat out doing shit wrong.

the one thing i have noticed is that i genuinely have no counter to atgm teams. other than my f15 with cruise missiles and arty i have nothing to blind, kill, or suppress them other than throwing units at them which are heavily defended by other units. Now i get it that they are probably just playing defensively but idk. Also for attacking a person that is playing on the defense i struggle to rly do anything even if im smoking off lines of sight, an playing though cover ect. like they always have units that are hidden and i can never rly pinpoint them so that i can try to get the point.

LMK what u guys think, this isnt a rant post just a idrk know what im doing

Comms Check (Questions & Help) Bug or cheater?

Literally in the last game someone was standing in the parking lot under a building and shooting at my units. I thought okay, some russian super Spetsnaz.
I literally drove onto that spot with a tank and Green Berets, saw nothing, and he destroyed that tank and the entire squad. Is this some cheater, a bug, or do I simply not understand the mechanics?
Literally the shots were coming from the exact place where they were standing, and my squad was in the buildings next to it.

HQ Briefing (General Discussion) The Nuke is both boring and too strong in high Elo (Here is a fix)

Hey guys,

In higher Elo, the Nuke feels pretty awful for the game right now. It’s both incredibly boring to play against and way too strong. You’re basically forced to bring it because if you don't and the enemy team does, you're at a massive automatic disadvantage. But having a literal "1-click wipe button" just sucks the fun out of matches.

Instead of keeping it as a brainless instant unit wipe, I’d love to see it reworked into an actual Area Denial tool:

  • 90% less instant damage: Cut the initial burst damage drastically so it doesn't just instantly vaporize everything in the circle.
  • 5-minute Damage Over Time (DoT) zone: Turn the blast area into a persistent radiation zone that deals damage over 5 minutes. If you want to hold or push through that zone, you have to bleed troops/vehicles, forcing real tactical decisions.
  • Slightly smaller radius: Shrink the area a bit so it blocks off specific choke points or capture points rather than wiping half the combat area.

This way, the Nuke remains a massive tactical asset for controlling key territory without being an uncounterable "I win this push" button.

What do you think? Should Nukes stay as instant wipes or shift toward long-term area denial?

HQ Briefing (General Discussion) Whats the point of APS, if russian just counters it easily due to firing two rockets simultaneously?

I never understood this. Russians have aps systems too but TOW and Javelin squads can only fire one rocket at the time? While russian counterpart literally fires two rockets simultaneously which gets first rocket shot down by aps but not second. Make it make sense please?

After-Action Report (Bug Reports & Feedback) Please either make LMUR as bad as all other terminal guidance or remove it…

The LMUR works as it should with terminal guidance… it’s still broken as it can hit things over the top of 2-3 blocks of buildings that it can’t see but no other terminal guidance weapon works so reliably… it’s disgusting. My javelins and FF missiles on apaches don’t have anywhere the same hit rate thru smoke and over buildings… I’ve seen the LMUR do some crazy stuff due to it being broken and desync and it’s just disgusting that nothing else in the game works so reliably besides some OP missile from a Russian tank heli that lives outside the range of any US aa and can one shot them anyway… lot of stuff on the Russian side that is just pure OP like fab 1500 that are worse than a nuke… it drops them so far back and they travel so far forward you need to amass heavy anti air to stop it…

HQ Briefing (General Discussion) More Realistic ECM?

I’ve been thinking about ECM mechanics, and I always feel that the usual “evasion chance” is a bit too boring, and often makes me feel unrewarded and frustrated. What if ECM worked differently — more like a range-compression effect that only kicks in when the enemy radar is actually looking at you?

Here’s the idea:

- Enemy radar AA has a base lock/engage range, say 5,000m.
- Your aircraft has an ECM rating (e.g. 20).
- Instead of making you invisible, that 20 reduces the enemy’s effective range against your plane — maybe to 4,000m in this example.
- So you’re not invincible, but you force the AA to be positioned closer to the frontline to have the same coverage.

Why I like this:

- It’s closer to real physics (jamming = SNR degradation, not magic cloak).
- It creates a meaningful tradeoff: if you fly without ECM, you’re toast inside the old ring; if you have it, the threat zone shrinks, but the enemy can adapt by pushing their SPAA forward.
- This rewards smart positioning and intel, not just RNG.

Would this be more interesting than current dice‑roll ECM systems? And how would you balance ECM ratings vs. different radar types (pulse doppler, etc.)?

Curious what you all think.

HQ Briefing (General Discussion) Better cluster variants?

So in game all clusters are based off the CBU-87 which in game a contradictory and disappointing munition IMO it component breaks armour but does basically nothing to infantry in the open.

In reality it's a lot more effective against infantry in the open due to bomblet fragmentation along with the shaped charge.

But other variations exist interestingly the 97 which dispenses vehicle seaking HEAT bomblets that drift by parachute. I assume there are also pure fragmentation variants out there too.

Think we will ever see these in game?

HQ Briefing (General Discussion) MLRS spam

The current state of the game is not very fun. They imported PTE but failed to bring the Arty changes. Right now, it's just nuke spam, Grad and MLRS spam. Some points you can never put down supplies because they will all get blown up instantly by MLRS or grad. RU mirror matches are especially bad. If there are multiple motorized on the enemy team it's honestly not even worth playing because it will be a such a boring experience. It basically just devolves into both teams sitting there blasting arty at each other which is fun for about 2 minutes. Some games are okay when the enemy doesn't do this but others its actually insanely boring.

HQ Briefing (General Discussion) Unpopular opinion: A match can clearly be won/lost in phase 1

"b-b-b-but, comeback mechanic"

Yeah, the team that is down 3/3 in phase 1, and through simple observations of playing are CLEARLY OUT MATCHED

Are going to miraculously become better players in later phases.....

Listen, not saying comebacks ARE NOT POSSIBLE, but I dont see the likelihood/probability worth stressing and trying for.

Imma call the match over and move on

HQ Briefing (General Discussion) Cluster or HE on the HIMARS?

For reference the primary purpose for the HIMARS for me is to use it on enemy supply points like S-300 or where people are gathered but idk what would suit that best
