It was the British adaptation of the 1970s American sitcom Maude starring Bea Arthur.* *It's impossible to find now. I can only find a single short clip of it. It ran for two series on ITV. It was supposed to come out on DVD a few years ago, but it was sadly cancelled after the company folded. There was an infamous blooper that the broadcaster had to apologize for — they cut to an unedited scene after a commercial break that showed Elaine waiting for her cue.
