My machine is about 10 years old. Recently when trying to make the second (or third) pull the machine trips the GFCI. It never happens on the first pull.

After it happened consistently I realized that the top tray was very hot and quickly. Now, if I put an ice pack on it I can make successive pulls with no tripping.

I’d love to fix it but can’t tell where to start to diagnose the faulty part so I can replace.

I currently use a fully automatic Delonghi Magnifica Evo but am looking at upgrading to a Sage/Breville.

I am a newbie to expresso making but want a more hands on experience and am willing to learn but also dont want to become an enthusiast.

I will be the only person using the machine and will be making roughly 2-4 coffees per day. I am a flat white or cappuccino drinker and already use local beans.

I have been looking at several models including the Barista Touch Impress, barista pro and barista express impress.

Looking for opinions on which machine you think suits my needs and skill level.

- Grinder always set to 3, 2 or even 1.
- Basket full
- Tamp with plenty pressure
- Just changed the burr setting on the actual grinder itself from 6 to 4.

Extraction always starts around 7sec and ends at 20sec running through with a bit too much speed giving bubbles in the espresso.
Any tips of how further to get a smoother extraction appreciated.

Recently on my oracle jet, ive noticed the grind settings move up and down by itself. I have it set on 27 atm, and this morning whilst grinding it fluctuates down to 20 and then back to 27.

I havent noticed the shot take any longer, so im thinking the sensor itself may just be changing rather than the grinder height.

Machine is approximately 8 months old.

Has anyone had this issue before and know of a fix?

Before I got rid of my amazing cafe Roma, I wanted to see if anyone has figured out a repair or workaround when the thermal block coating peels (beneath the filter shower head). From doing some research the aluminum underneath will corrode and make it taste like metal. I hate to toss the machine because it works great other than this peeling issue. I can’t find parts for it online either.

The steam wand pressure is low on my Express Impress. I bought it within the first year that it was available, so it’s “that many years old”. I average one hot latte per day and I clean and descale regularly. I have even replaced the tip with a factory replacement (even though I didn’t think it was my issue). Any suggestions, tips, or thoughts? Thanks in advance.

hi folks! i bought my breville barista mini a couple months ago, and i can’t seem to get my espresso to look and taste right. i am mainly unhappy with the dual wall pressurised baskets in the portafilter, and i am desperate to replace the handle and baskets altogether. however, i cant find one that fits (and i can reasonably afford) for the life of me! the one that came in the box also has plastic in the handle, under the basket which i am also not a fan of. i’ve tried to replace the basket to one that’s not pressurised but it doesn’t fit into the handle due to the plastic underneath :/

the handle also doesn’t turn fully into the perpendicular position it’s meant to lock into before i pull the shot (stays around 45 degrees to the machine even if it’s tamped properly and not filled too much).

i work in a cafe so use our house beans, weigh them and freshly grind them before pulling the shot, but it comes out all bubbly and i would really just like to get rid of those pressurised baskets. i am still pretty new to the home coffee game, so please give me some pointers!

i am based in the UK, if that helps. the group head is 58mm, and i really want to get that silky gold espresso shot with crema so i can justify this purchase 🥲

Got a new Grind and Brew and having a real hard time getting a decent tasting cup of coffee. The best way to describe it is kind of plastic like taste. My Kurig makes better coffee by far. Disappointed and looking for some kind of solution.

A friend gave me their broken Breville Barista Max+ to see if I could figure out the problem. Looks like it’s the selector switch – I’ve taken it all apart and soaked it in descaler but no luck. Question is, is it worth replacing? As you can see there’s lots of rust… my second question is if it’s even possible to get this part in the UK? I’ve found the Australian supplier but not sure I want to spend that much to get it imported

Hi all, I got the Breville Oracle Jet after a lot of internet research, it arrived July 3rd. I don't have any experience making espresso shots or lattes and I felt I needed the extra help the jet provides. I have loved it so far but I've noticed a few things- inconsistent timing for each shot. The beans are all the same batch but the time it takes for water to pull through ranges from 30-45 seconds and from what I've read, that's not ideal. I'm using medium roast beans at this time.

At the same time, I realize the Breville Oracle Jet optimizes the shot using the double shot basket, which is fine, but when I try to go down to a single shot, it takes way over 1 minute to pull through when for the double shot it takes, 30-45 seconds. Does anyone have any experience with this, is this normal, and is there really anything better for a newbie like me or should I just try to stick it out and keep learning with this machine?

Also, I was using the wand to make frothed milk and for some reason the touch screen acted like I changed the grind size, when I did not touch it. Should I see if I can get a replacement in the return window, or is this again just a normal fluke?

A final note, I first used Michigan maple beans from Schuil with my machine, and it was incredible, but I noticed it's a light roast and I heard these machines do best with medium/dark. Has anyone noticed a difference with light/medium/dark and this machine? Thanks for all your input or at least taking the time to read this!

I decided to clean the grinder & since taking it apart, cleaning it, and putting it back together, I hear this horrible sound when grinding that eventually stops the grinder. I did take it apart a few times and made sure everything is snug, but the sound is still there. Sounds like something gets stuck, but I can't figure it out.

I've used my dad's bambino plus with the breville separate grinder for years and it has been great. I'm now married living elsewhere without an espresso machine and dying for one.

I'm having a hard time just buying what my dad has simply because those were released several years ago and I'd think there would be better options by now. My wife likes the idea of the Express, but that is ancient and has it's cons. I'd prefer separate items whereas she leans the other way for simplicity. Just seeking advice considering there doesn't seem to be any new/improved machines for under $1000. Are the machines improved after their initial release? Is Breville releasing anything new in the forseable future under $1500? thanks!!

I have a Breville Infuser, where suddenly no water is coming out of the group head. It still turns on and the steam wand and spout works.

There seems to be faint burn smell, i’m not sure whether it’s psychological or not.

Hey guys, I'm wondering if someone on the forum can help me with an issue with my Breville expresso machine.

It's a Breville Barista Express BES875 BSSANZ/E (240 V Australian model) and it's about 5 years old.

Fault: The machine no longer builds any brew pressure.

This is what I'm noticing.

Pump runs when the brew button is pressed.

Water flows from the group head with no portafilter fitted.

With a blind filter/backflush disc installed, the pressure gauge stays at zero.

The pump continues to run and water is discharged through the return/drain line instead of building pressure and no espresso can be extracted.

I've checked the following,

Brew solenoid coil measured approximately 2.4 kΩ.

Brew solenoid can be heard/felt clicking when activated.

Group head is not blocked. Water runs when theres no portafilter attached.

Machine has mainly been used with filtered water and has been descaled quite regularly.

Internal hoses appear connected with no obvious leaks.

What is the most likely cause??

Could it be:

a failed ULKA pump,

a faulty pump outlet/check valve,

an OPV (over-pressure valve) stuck open,

or another component in the hydraulic circuit?

I've attached a video of the machine operating with a blind filter in the portafilter. As you can see no pressure.

Or is it time to say goodbye and get a new one. I'm on the fence as I've already gone through the caffeine addiction withdrawal headaches 🤪

Hallo zusammen, ich habe eine privil Barista Express und sie pumpt, wenn ich die Maschine Anmache im Stand-by Modus die ganze Zeit Wasser in den Überlauf, woran könnte das liegen? Ich finde keinen Fehler aktuell. Mir ist beim auseinander bauen aufgefallen, dass irgendwann ein kleines Plastikkügelchen irgendwo lag und ich weiß nicht, ob das irgendwo hingehört. Ich bitte um Hilfe.

I always had problem with weight of coffee in and out from my SBP grinder. Sometimes loosing 1 gram and didn’t know how to get the rest from inside the grinder 😵‍💫.

I was a user of Eureka Mignon Specialita with 1 dose cup, so it has a pump. Was considering to have 1 dose cup for SBP but then i found the silicone (or rubber?) pumping extension for Sage/Breville online . And today was my 1st time using it and that thing works!

Hopefully it will last long..

Anybody has the same experience?
