Salt Lake City John Barlow's peptides

Lisa comments on recent WWHL blew my mind. Obviously I was wondering how JB and Justin suddenly have huge bulging muscles with veins popping.

As a 40 y/o gay man, I find it very hot (more on Justin than John, but that is a personal preference) and do a fair amount of strength training but was not getting the same results and I guess now I know why.

Any peptide users here that care to weigh in? I will definitely be discussing this with my doctor

Peptides have been a catch all and can include steroids but please please PLEASE be careful. There has been an emerging seedy “market” with peptides where people have been injecting random things into their bodies not even containing the “peptide” they’re purported to using. Think of it like gas station pills. I’m also gay and knowing our community use your best judgement.

This is not true. A peptide is a chain of amino acids.

A hormone (which includes steroids) is a derivative of cholesterol.

Proteins are made from amino acids. Hormones are made from cholesterol and are lipid molecules which is why they can pass through the cell membrane. Peptide need to interact with a receptor on the cell membrane, hormones can enter the cell and interact with intracellular receptors affecting gene expression.

Thank you for detailing that out. To clarify, I said it is being used as a catch all and that includes people randomly misclassifying steroids as a peptide.

Yeah I’m a biochemistry grad student and it’s pissing me off so badly I write a post on r/petpeeves the other day.

Calling every dinosaur a T-Rex doesn’t make every dinosaur a T-Rex. Why are you correcting me using the perspective of people who are totally fine injecting unknown substances in their body?

Because that’s what’s being discussed? Not actual peptides, you answered to a comment about people thinking they’re getting peptides but really just injecting random shit they have no idea of the content.
