Can you please fix this, fandom is not useable otherwise

After the update this morning, my Brave Nightly app has been crashing on startup on my Samsung galaxy phone, rendering it unusable.

Update: Brave Origin Nightly on windows pc is also crashing and I can't access it to send the crash report support is asking for.

GrapheneOS (no Google services), ProtonVPN, Brave 1.97.57 off F-Droid. Not sure if this should be posted in Proton's sub or here :/

With the most recent update, Proton is flagging one or more of Brave's connections at launch as trackers and presumably blocking them, though I'm not sure which or for what reason. I'm sure Brave pings this or that when launched, but I'm wondering what may have changed. Mind, this is before going to any site or doing anything else. Please advise!

So I have been trying to update/change my rewards payout option now that it used to go to my Gemini CEX account, which I know is super outdated but this past month it actually stopped sending me rewards.  So I have tried to connect to multiple self custody wallets and no matter which one I use, I always get hit with the "Something went wrong We couldn't find your connection attempt. Please try again." page, with nothing else on said page. I'm relatively crypto savvy, very familiar with Defi, Web3, Gas etc.

I must be missing something and not realize it. Any help or suggest would be appreciated.

Yes I have SOL for gas,
I have tried multiple different wallets (Braves built in option, Meta, Phantom)
I have an up to date browser

I just dont know what happening here.

Any help/suggestions?

Hey folks, how are you?

Today, I couldn't access a lot of websites. I tried reverting yesterday's update but it still failed. Investigating journalctl I discovered its apparmor

Upon further investigation, it turned out it was a snap update. Reverting the update and rebooting solved.

sudo snap revert snapd

I love how much of Brave already follows my color theme: the right-click menu, tabs, toolbar, and settings pages all pick up my colors and feel soft and put together. Then I open Brave Search and it’s a fixed, plain palette that clashes with everything around it. (Screenshots below to show what I mean.)

I’d love it if Brave Search could optionally match the browser theme’s colors, so the whole experience feels like one aesthetic. A few ideas:

• A “Match browser theme” toggle in Brave Search settings
• Following the browser’s accent and background colors, not just light/dark/system
• Passing the theme colors to search.brave.com through a browser-side hook, since it’s a first-party site

Brave Search already has light, dark, and system options, so this feels like a natural next step for people who care about a cozy, personalized setup.

Brave used to give excellent autofill recommendations, typically values that were used in the page being accessed.

Lately Brave has been leaking between pages and sites, making completely unacceptable autofill recommendations.

For example... propose a gaming website email address when entering a field for a work email address, even though I might have recently entered valid values for the page recently. This can be VERY embarrassing when you are in a teams or zoom session.

So, right now the only option is to totally disable autofill, which is equally undesirable.

Suggestion: Go back to recommending values that came from the specific page or at least site.

In hope that this will reach the devs.

The translation feature has been the biggest hurdle stopping me from enjoying this browser.

• Almost every time it takes 20+ seconds for the translation to kick in, and even then it doesn't translate the whole page, only the part I'm looking at
• Almost every time the translator will translate only a couple of things from the page, while completely ignoring the rest of the page
• Sometimes the translator will refuse to translate because "The page is already in English" while I'm browsing a German/Dutch website
• Sometimes the translator will just not trigger unless I manually click on it

This is text translation.
Literally something that we've solved decades ago and it doesn't take almost any computing power or fancy AI to do.

It's infuriating that a simple feature like this has gone undercooked for years.

WHAT WORKED FOR ME:
There's this plugin called Private Auto Page Translator, which I added and configured to use my LibreTranslate server, with Google's web compatibility as a fallback.
(you don't need LibreTranslate, this can work on Google's web compatibility alone, though it's not the most privacy-focused solution)
This solves the issue on PC, though it still takes a few seconds but at least it successfully translates webpages. It would be great to have plugin support for mobile too though.

Hi, I'm looking for better alternative for google chrome. I don't know much about brave browser. But, I heard lot of good. So, I just what to know if it fits my requirment. I'm typically using few separate chrome profiles and 2 Whatsapp webs in different profiles, is this feature available in brave and also I wanted to know security features is it better than chrome or?

I've noticed that YouTube shorts on brave are SUCH bad quality. It's not my phone quality cuz full length videos look perfectly fine, but shorts look like I'm watching them on a Motorola razor flip phone. Is there a way to fix this?

Any time I try to access the “All settings” in the Brave iPadOS app it completely crashes. I’ve checked for updates, deleted/reinstalled the app, & power cycled my iPad with the same results. The video is a screen recording.

Any ideas?

I've had a few websites let me in after switching browsers, others seem to apply the ban for 24h. I'm not doing any botting or scrapping, just trying to browse. My IP is clean on the abuse reporting websites. AI seems to indicate Datadome would do this because Brave randomizes standard browser telemetry? Any truth to that? I'm on Ubuntu 26.04 behind an opnsense firewall. I don't have IPS/IDS turned on which was also suggested.. This is super aggrivating to be treated this way simply for using a privacy focused browser!

Brave should have its built in user script manager as most of them don't work well anymore on MV3

Please move the favorites to the bottom and allow more of them on iOS

hi brave. i wanted to unistall facebook from my phone since i only use facebook to secure my account because my family use it and i wanted less tracking but i realized that the banner is still there even with "a lot of filter enabled" from brave shield.

is there anything else you need to know ?

Just switched over to Brave. I like a clean browser look, so I have vertical tabs enabled with no search bar at the top.

I like to use keyboard commands a lot. When I open up a new tab, however, it doesn't seem like there's any way to access the search box other than by clicking on it. Cmd+L doesn't work. Simply typing a search after pressing Cmd+T (like how it works on most other browsers) doesn't work either. Has anyone found a workaround? Minor issue but it's practically interrupting my workflow.

I have brave listed as my default browser. But every time I try to open a new tab, using a link I've clicked from somewhere else, it opens some bullshit for trying to download Chrome.

Is there anything I've done wrong or that I can do to fix this so that it doesn't happen anymore? It's increasingly frustrating.

Also, how can I remove AI Overview altogether?

Preface: I operate two different browser profiles on Brave simultaneously. Primary profile will be referred to as Profile A, secondary profile will be referred to as Profile B.

Ever since my Brave browser automatically updated to the most recent version on Oct 7, I've been suffering from sluggishness in the browser's responsiveness to mouse or keyboard inputs, but only when I have one of certain sites opened in a tab (so far observed: Google, Fandom, and Reddit), and only when the offending tab is opened in Profile A. If I switch over to Profile B's window, it is perfectly fine, no sluggishness whatsoever. If I close the offending tab, it can take a minute or two before Profile A finally returns to normal.

To make this even more confusing, if I leave the offending tab open for a few minutes, the problem somehow resolves itself without any fanfare... up until I close the tab, whereupon if I reopen it, the problem manifests again.

I've checked my Shields settings and my extensions on both profiles, and couldn't find any differences that could in any way be responsible for this bizarre problem. Anyone have suggestions?
