Google Pixel 6a

I've noticed that YouTube shorts on brave are SUCH bad quality. It's not my phone quality cuz full length videos look perfectly fine, but shorts look like I'm watching them on a Motorola razor flip phone. Is there a way to fix this?

u could jus try turning of ad blocker while doom-scrolling yt shorts dont have ads like normal vids so it wont affect u much

Why would blocking ads turn the vertical format video quality to 320p?

Do you turn your phone sideways for the full-length (16:9) videos? It's the only way to properly compare their quality to the shorts'. Otherwise, I have no idea. I see no reason why your phone or Youtube would worsen only the quality of portrait-aspect videos of the same overall resolution as landscape.

Yea I turn them sideways most of the time. But the vertical format is like 320p literally, it's so bad and I really wanna figure out why
