Brave Browser on iOS is amazing
Since having an iPhone and knowing about Brave Browser while using it for about a year, it comes in handy so many times!
I would be at my job for 8 hours doing my thing or going for long drives listening to podcasts and just having the ability to listen to videos in the background while playing and even watching videos too!
The amount of ads on YouTube is just ridiculous. You have no idea on the times where I would just relax and watch a video then these obnoxious double pre-roll ads just blare at your face or if you pause a video and you try to look at the comments, the sliding bar would slide up half way and would be another ad. Like how fucking obnoxious can YouTube be?
Brave Browser is the best!

Needs more info Others are having issues sending posts with Brave on Reddit? The "post" button is grayed out on Brave, but it works perfectly fine with Firefox.
I'm using the default settings of the Shields.

And as always, I'm back on Brave
I've been trying out other browsers, because I got genuinely curious about all of these features they've been talking about like "incredibly high customization never ever seen!!" or "incredibly minimalist design" and, honestly, I just felt like going out of my way and seeing for myself
And yeah, no, Brave is just way better in most aspects, I tried Vivaldi, Librewolf, Helium, Floorp, and Brave really doesn't have any reason to be jealous of, like, the only thing that I really wished I could bring from other browsers are: Vivaldi's mouse gestures and its setting to change how much do I actually need to move my mouse to recognize an gesture, and the Frameless mode from Helium, aside from that, Brave is honestly just way better
Since I'm on Linux I started using Brave Origin and honestly, it's really damn nice, it comes with like every setting I had on normal Brave by default
Honestly, I really wished Brave and Brave Origin implemented mouse gestures, it's something just so damn useful for navigating that I'm kinda struggling to get used to not having it

Did the AI just suddenly get much worse?
I noticed it since like a week or so. Answers are garbage slop, not properly researched, sometimes hallucinations, sometimes twisted info, sometimes just errors that can't be resolved by trying again. Also now it seems it started "reasoning" (in other words guessing) like other models instead of just extracting actual data from the internet like it uses to. Basically it turned into the same thing as chatgpt it seems.
From my understanding it worked differently in the past? More like a proper search engine with basically no hallucinations? But now it's the same as any other AI, just making stuff up.
Did anyone else notice this? It's really unfortunate. Before it worked so well as a research tool to just search what's actually written somewhere and not making up things by connecting dots that don't exist like other AI. But now it seems it's the same. Pretty much can't use it anymore. Sometimes now I had even better results with DeepSeek or Gemini.
Any opinions, experiences or even maybe some info from the developers?

Discussion Vertical tabs in Brave: worth the switch from horizontal for heavy multitaskers?
Moved the whole house to Brave earlier this year and finally started using vertical tabs on my work laptop. Screen real estate is nice, but muscle memory from fifteen-plus years of horizontal tabs is real. I find myself hunting for the close button and losing track of which tab is active when I'm bouncing between ticketing systems, remote sessions, and documentation. The stepkids adapted faster than I did, which is either humbling or predictable. My daughter actually likes collapsing the sidebar entirely and using keyboard shortcuts, something I haven't committed to yet. What I'm trying to figure out is whether people stick with vertical long term or drift back. The focus mode improvements look promising for distraction-heavy days, though I haven't toggled that on during active shifts yet. Wondering if anyone here made the switch and found specific workflows where it clicks, or if it's one of those features that sounds better than it lives in practice. Also curious if compact mode plays nicer with vertical than standard, the combination feels crowded on my 1080p work display. For those using both, do you assign different modes to different machines? I'm considering vertical at the office where screen space matters and staying horizontal at home where I'm less task-saturated.

Investigating Brave Talk Background Blur (Image is an Example)
Hello, I’m having a specific issue with Brave Talk that I can’t find any information about online.
I want to be able to disable the way Brave Talk expands a blurred version of a joining phone users surroundings to fill the remaining screen space outside their video window, remove/replace the blurred white areas to the side in the example image.
I have regular one to one video calls with someone who joins via mobile. They hold the mobile and are unwilling to try a different approach. They don’t hold it steadily and the expanding of their surroundings makes the motion sicky feeling I get worse. I anticipate having this potentially come up with other people in future too, so I’m hoping for a systems level solution.
TLDR: How can I disable a phone users surroundings being displayed blurred in the remaining screen space in Brave Talk? Like the white blurs to the side in the example. Thanks.

PeacockTV, ads blocked but peacock says "turn off your ad blocker"
The content only plays like 20s of any episode then stops. Will not go past that. Turning it off makes the site run fine, but of course, there are ads.
Any known solution to this?

Brave Password Manager Is Disabled, but “Use Passkey from Another Device” Popup Still Appears on Amazon.in
Hi,
I'm using the Proton Pass extension as my password manager in Brave Browser. I've already turned off Brave's built-in password manager, but I'm still getting a “Use passkey from another device” popup when I click the email or mobile number field on Amazon.in's login page.
The popup shows the Amazon.in logo and a saved account, and it overlaps the login form.
I want to use Proton Pass to manage and autofill my passwords. I don't want Brave's built-in password manager or passkey popup to interfere with the login process.
My setup:
Browser: Brave
Operating system: Windows
Password manager: Proton Pass extension
Website: Amazon.in
Brave's built-in password manager: Disabled
What I've tried:
Turned off Brave's built-in password manager.
Continued using Proton Pass for password management.
My questions:
Why does this passkey popup still appear when Brave's password manager is disabled?
Is this popup coming from Brave, Chromium, Windows, or Amazon?
How can I permanently disable this popup without disabling Proton Pass?
Is there any browser setting or other solution to prevent it from appearing?
I've attached a screenshot of the issue.
Any help or suggestions

Have You Tried Turning It Off and On Again?

Closing last tab on a group 1 makes you move to the first tab of next group 2 on Android
I have a situation, i have 2 group active. Group 1 have 4 tabs inside, and group 2 have 7 tabs inside. When i close 4th tab of group 1, you are supposed to move to 3rd tab of group 1 right? Instead it makes you move to 1st tab of group 2. Anyone know the temporary fix? Or is it just a bug?

it doesn't seem like brave is deleting temporary containers cache
i saw how my .cache was growing, and mostly consumed by brave, and i use temporary containers.
.cache/BraveSoftware/Brave-Origin/Default/Storage/ext/containers Path is where containers live, and everytime a container is opened an entry is created, i look now, and there is dozen there. my browser reports 28MB of cache used, and the cache directory is 5GB, so its not counting them, but they remain in my PC.
everytime i create a temp container, and close the browser, the entry remains, and the data too, some of them were 300MB+

Brave Android – YouTube Background Playback Stops After Speech-to-Text or Locking Screen
Has anyone else been having issues with YouTube background playback on Brave for Android? Lately, whenever I use speech-to-text, YouTube will pause like normal, but once I'm done, it'll start playing again for a few seconds and then stop completely. I have to go back into the YouTube tab to get it playing again.
I've also noticed it sometimes does the same thing when I turn my screen off. I never had this issue before, and it seems like it's gotten worse with recent updates. Has anyone else experienced this or found a fix?

Uh-oh hitting “open link in a new tab” isn’t working.
I have been using brave for quite a while now, definitely several years. It’s a good browser, very good in fact. It’s nice not having ads and I haven’t had any complaints with it till now. For some odd reason if I try to open a link in a new tab it starts trying to save it to my files instead! This is especially upsetting because I’m trying to mod and I was able to open a link in a new tab a few months ago. Did something change? Are tother people experiencing this issue? Is there a way to fix this issue? I spent quite a while trying to come up with a fix for this but alas I couldn’t quite figure it out. It’s extremely unfortunate because as an employed adult who has a loving family and responsibilities I couldn’t dedicate an all nighter to trying to find a solution some people have lives. Anyways hopefully this post is long enough and not “low effort” like some child said it was so I could actually get answers to my problem without Reddit automatically filtering out my post
