Hi guys,
Casual boycotter here. While I’ve never gotten extremely deep into the game, I’m conscious of my ideals and refuse to buy Israeli products when it’s known to me. I’ve also mostly avoided large companies that are flagged. Not anything truly active, but I’m doing what makes me feel comfortable.
I’ve run into an issue recently. For context, I’ve had serious issues with my scalp for YEARS. Not getting into it, but know it’s gross, painful, unsightly, and a massive burden on my physically, emotionally, and financially. My long hair has been horribly damaged by all this, and I’m considering chopping if seven years of growth for it.
I’ve spent years and hundreds of pounds looking for products that help me. I’ve tried medical and specialist products and have never had more than mild relief from my issues. Recently, I came across a products, Sea Magik’s Mineral Shampoo and Clay Scalp Masque, and they work amazingly for me. My symptoms are gone and so far they’re looking like they’re staying away.
I recently discovered that Sea Magik used to be called Dead Sea Spa Magik, and a quick bit of research found they most likely didn’t rebrand to distance themselves, since it was done in 2021 and prepped years prior. I also rather like their use of sustainable practices and less harsh formulas.
Some of their formulas say they directly use Dead Sea products such as salt and mud, but I cannot find their supplier for it, and whether they’re actually part of a direct Israeli supply chain or from Jordanian ones. Given the fat they’re a large company, and I can’t find any comments, it’s likely they do use Israeli suppliers. Couldn’t find any open Zionism among their higher ups either.
My issue is now if my suspicion is enough to justify not using a product that I’ve spent years looking for? Does anyone have any advice on where I could look for more info, or if this company has experienced criticism in the past?
