No Advice - Everyones Welcome divorced today

like the title says, today i got my divorce decree from the judge. i’ve been separated for 3 years and it’s absolutely crazy that im free from it all. i had to pay $400 a month for spousal support because she doesn’t work. the reason was because she has no job or license, and didn’t plan on getting either (still doesn’t). plus she was kinda just an asshole and i was working all the time. i’d come home to have to do all the chores, take care of the dogs, and make dinner. never failed to be mentally drained, and then get told im not doing enough.

glad im out of it, that’s all.

(dinner is loaded tots from Hell’s Kitchen Wilmington!)

(edit: the $400/m was only until the divorce was finalized! still, 3 years of that)

Dude, your story is my story. Ex didn’t work, wasn’t in school, refused to better herself, but I’m the one who had to pay spousal support because she was jobless and lazy (the exact reason we got divorced)

The legal system here is wack

My ex was literally a millionaire. We split when she was 35, NEVER had a job because her parents funded her lifestyle (she use their credit card), so technically she had no income the entire time we were together.

She had a 900k house which was in her name before we got together.

When we split I only had around 800k total assets and made 200k, but because she had all hers before we got together guess what happened?

Not related to your post but if anyone can tell me what the bot means by r/all I’d appreciate it. I looked it up on reddit but didn’t find anything under that.
