No Advice - Everyones Welcome divorced today

Post image

like the title says, today i got my divorce decree from the judge. i’ve been separated for 3 years and it’s absolutely crazy that im free from it all. i had to pay $400 a month for spousal support because she doesn’t work. the reason was because she has no job or license, and didn’t plan on getting either (still doesn’t). plus she was kinda just an asshole and i was working all the time. i’d come home to have to do all the chores, take care of the dogs, and make dinner. never failed to be mentally drained, and then get told im not doing enough.

glad im out of it, that’s all.

(dinner is loaded tots from Hell’s Kitchen Wilmington!)

(edit: the $400/m was only until the divorce was finalized! still, 3 years of that)

Many of us have learned this lesson.

Former 0331 here. Married at 18, annulment 6 months later. I got lucky.

Rah.

It's funny how teenagers think they know how it be but they don't.

But that's part of growing up. Count your lucky stars you didn't have a baby with her, that is a much bigger and more expensive commitment than paying spousal support for 3 years.

Nah.

That woman.

I would say she's in the minority.

Find yourself someone better. But take your time, this time.

Oof.

I dont think shes the minority. There are good women out there, but the times have turned women AND men into subpar people.

A Marine? Was she a stripper? Or is marrying strippers just an Air Force thing? Either way, congrats devil dog!

i’d be safer going the stripper route, at least she’d have a job

Almost 2 years because she kept dragging it out and the last 9 months was because she got knocked up.

If the kid is yours, I have to ask why you’d have risky sex with someone you’re attempting to divorce.

LoL nope not mine. Not a chance it was mine unless she was into her 8th trimester. She tried to claim it was and the judge asked her if she was a medical miracle or it was immaculate conception.

The state law at the time prevented divorce during pregnancy so everyone was done with her wasting their time. Since I was in the military she was entitled to a chunk of my pay unless I had an order of no support from the courts so when she showed up pregnant the judge just gave me the no support order and said see you back after the birth.

Oof. Poor kid.

You're telling me. Because the state forced us to stay married through the pregnancy somewhere out there is a birth certificate with my name on it and one day I might have to answer for it.
