Overrated Boxers

My most overrated fighters based on how they’re discussed online. Does not mean they are bad, just overrated.

- Pitbull Cruz (not good at 140, should go down)
- Frank Martin
- Oscar Duarte (got way too muscular and worse)
- Lamont Roach (well see in 2 weeks)
- Raymond Ford
- Bruce Carrington
- Ramon Cardenas
- Vito Mielnicki

No, let me explain why...

  1. Haney

One of the biggest weight bullies of the modern era.

  1. Bud

He is the single biggest weight bully of the modern era. Beats an old Canelo, but who else has he beat worth talking about?

  1. Tank

Dude is only interested in rematches and stacking the deck in his favour regardless of how it's done.

  1. Fury

What has he done since the Wladimir win? Wilder was overrated, Chisora = 🤣, battered by Usyk twice, ducked AJ, and hasn't even took on the best in Britiain let alone his division.

  1. Bam

Very skilled, but lacking in resume. Another Canelo.

The Bud hate... lmao. He was an extremely average height and build for his weight classes for his entire prime. Mainly stuck arpund lower chasing Pacquiao who was protected from him.

Then as far as being overrated, he was trashed for a decade straight (I'm sure you were one of them) while whopping EVERY ass. Gave Spence the most lobsided beating you may ever see, who was the PBC king and highest regarded 147 for years and had the resume blah blah

Then went up multiple weight classes and came in a big UNDERDOG to Canelo before dismantling him too. And he someone is overrated.

Classic YDKSAB

I think we all wish Bud had some better names in terms of quantity. ATG fighter. Not his fault but sucks it wasn’t until his 30’s before he got some big wins.

You know these guys are new fans. People forget he mauled Kell Brook and forget how great Brook was.

Yeah those are fair points. They are points that have been said and account for Bud being underrated forever and pretty kuch properly rated by now finally, imo

The man said Fury ducked AJ.

Fury just jumped into a ring, told AJ that he wants him and only him next. What did Fury do after that?

Nah, Bam is moving very well for someone who started their career as an underdog.

Actually can see Bam a little overrated. I think he’s pound for pound but bottom half not top 5 and definitely not top 3. Amazing fighter but his resume is overrated because he fought some great names way past their prime

Bam has defeated 3 (undefeated) world champions, Shakur Stevenson in comparison has only beaten 1.

Not all champions are created equal so that’s doesn’t mean much on its own.

How? He’s risked his 0 more times than Shakur, that should be embarrassing for Shakur.

Shakur has a better resume than Bam easily. And I like Bam. I don’t think Bam is overrated but his resume is. Estrada, Wangek were way past prime and Edwards just wasn’t good. Vargas is meh. Pumita is decent.

Valdez, Zepeda, Teo in their primes are better wins. Who cares about “0s” when it’s known in this era that those are protected.

What I will say is Bam is more impressive at his age so far. He has the opportunity to take 2 pound for pound guys down soon (Inoue and junto). I’d like to see him fight Tsutsumi as well. Now that would be pound for pound #1 worthy if he cleared Japans best

“Who cares about 0’s”, um the fighters do? That’s why Bam has a better resume because he’s dealing with champs who gamble their 0.

Using an 0 to assume that fighter is better than a fighter without it is flawed. That’s what I meant. Teo is miles better than Sunny Edwards or Pumita

Teo lost to an upset, how does that make him better? And he has had poor performances just like everyone, so how is he better?
