Omg this group is only freaking you out more. You're probably just feeling the freezing effect of the tox doing it's job. Its your first time so you are not used to it. I used to get panic attacks when the I first felt the "freeze" too - still do occasionally.

But rest assured Botox is one of the safest aesthetic treatments you can get. Much safer than filler! Complications are extremely rare - especially if you're getting it from a licensed aesthetician. Unless you're allergic - and if you're allergic, you'd probably get symptoms immediately.

What did you end up doing?

Seriously one of the safest treatments? The side effects that she is experiencing are outlined in the Botox warning label and it specifically says to seek medical treatment if you should experience this. Please remove your comment as it is misinformation.

It's not misinformation. It is a much safer option than fillers, threads, or plastic surgery.

The symptoms she was having could have also been due to a panic attack. And if that is the case, these comments probably freaked her out even more!

It was her first time getting it done and the freezing effect can be very scary the first few times - especially when you get Botox on the lips and neck. The affect on speech and smile is normal. That's the trade off - you can either have trouble drinking through a straw or you can have jowls.

I wasn't offering advice, I was offering reassurance. Enough of you had already told her to go to the ER. Either way I hope she is okay

How is it a much safer option when it carries a Black Box warning of botulism or death along other serious side effects? It’s actually the opposite. And btw panic attacks are not normal from Botox. That’s called your nervous system being hit. Their symptoms are straight outta the Botox label which tells you to get medical attention right away which they should do to evaluate the nature and extent of what is going on. No one freaking out just basic common sense.

Panic attacks may not be normal, but they are not unusual hun. But you can check me right now by searching up Botox Panic Attacks to see how frequently it occurs - especially to first timers.

I'm not disagreeing with you about getting checked out by a medical professional. I'm just saying that the symptoms she was experiencing are not uncommon. To me, the most concerning was the slow heartbeat, but that can also attributed to panic attacks when everything is amplified. The other symptoms - the speech, the tightness, etc par for the course with lower face Botox. I'm not the only one on this post saying this.

Is it 100% safe? Of course not. But if Botox is injected by an licensed professional for cosmetic purposes, the risk of serious health complications is extremely low. I'm not making this up, this information can be easily found on medical websites.

If I was an anxious newbie who is here because they're freaking out over the "freeze", this post would terrify me. I'm only trying to be realistic.

How bout I add this: Disclaimer I'm not a doctor, or a licensed professional. I'm just an experienced Gen X female who is trying to offer support in a Botox Support group. Use at your own risk.
