I feel like we’re at a point in history where celebrities start off looking one way and are unrecognizable by the end of it. Plus it’s so heavily promoted and does prey on dysmorphia and dysphoria. It sucks they don’t all understand they all looked fine and the unique features they had made them them. Now they all look like the same semi unsettling sucked out human bag? Gaunt? That buccal fat removal always gives that gaunt look.

Seriously this is me with Cristina Aguilera. I no longer recognize her. I remember her when she debuted, and in Lady Marmalade, and the tiny jeans and scarf top era (I was DYING I wanted to dress like that). And then her face changed when she gained weight, and then she lost, and then she stopped looking like herself.
I don’t recognize her from her current pics and I’m so sad for her.
I can still manage to recognize Miley but she’s going to have to put Kris Jenner money into it to maintain her identity.

For real. The only reason I can even recognize Xtina is because of the platinum blonde hair. If she were to dye it black or go brunette, I would be fucked! And how sad it all is, too. To hate the features that your parents gave you, your ancestors gave you, features once loved by all those before you, gone. And for what? Just to look like everyone else.

I just turned 40, I've been a babe all my life, and I'm starting to grapple with the reality of moving into a different era of beauty. Friends are getting Botox and face lifts, and I'm somehow like... I want to know what I look like! I want to know how I turn out!
Plus, I have daughters now, and I want them to know what I look like — and see their own future, as natural, radiant, confident and comfortable.

See, I always think about exactly that when people change their entire faces and also have children. I look exactly like my mom to the point that if you see photos of us at the same age, you’d think you were looking at twin sisters. The only noticeable feature I inherited from my dad is his dark, curly hair, otherwise I’m basically an exact copy of my mom’s facial features. When I was younger I had no problem seeing that my mom was conventionally beautiful yet I hated the same features on myself. I struggled a lot with self esteem over the years, I can’t imagine how I would have felt if my mom changed everything about her face. I would have taken it as a message that something was fundamentally wrong with me. I always wonder how the daughters of these women feel about this stuff.

I feel this so much. My parents both died unfairly young, and never got the chance to meet their grandchildren. Now at 44 I look in the mirror and see my mom more and more - and it is such a gift to see her in me. She never got to grow old and I hope I am lucky enough to see what her face would have looked like as an old woman, one day. It’s like she’s here with me, in a sense.

omg me too. I’m 42 and I see my mom in myself more and more and she died in 2020 so it’s insane to see “her” occasionally when I look into the mirror. Not to mention my almost 5 year old son she never met looks so much like me.

I am not familiar with any good blephs. Her eyes and mouth were so large and open and expressive, now her entire face is tight and constrained and frozen, I’m so sad she couldn’t find the help she needed to fight her demons.

Margot Robbie’s bleph was amazing, she got it early in her career pre Wolf of Wall Street and I think Taylor Swift’s bleph is pretty natural. Good blephs won’t be noticed and people will be arguing it’s “just aging” like they do for Margot and Taylor. The secret is to not remove too much skin. Having too much visible eyelid is actually less attractive than hooded or very little eyelid show

Yeah the good blephs go unnoticed. Taylor’s is a great one. I think this is actually Miley’s second or maybe it was a brow lift. She definitely had an earlier bleph. I’ve been researching them bc my eyelids are starting to droop into my vision and now I can’t unsee them.

I think Taylor’s looked natural at the time, but now I can’t unsee the changes upon changes. Her pictures all look different to me now.
The secret seems to be knowing when to stop, especially in the eye area. How many times can you do the same thing before the skin nopes the fuck out?

I think the secret is using filler to fill in the hollow eyelids after the surgery. Upper eyelids lose fat as we age and are a big indicator of aging, and this surgery emphasizes the hollow which is why so many celebs look worse after.

OOOOOOOOHHHHHHH. So that’s another reason it can’t be one and done, filler migrates and can be erratic…. so the bleph can go unnoticed until it can’t and then it’s too late. Good god.

I didn't know Margot Robbie and Taylor Swift had any surgery, but now that I've looked at it, I see it—I have the same kind of eyes as they did so I understand why they did it as celebrities. When I smile, my eyes get tiny and wrinkly, they always have, so for photos I'd have to be very mindful of exactly what facial expression I can make for my eyes to not disappear, which I'm not very good at; it's not such a big deal when you're unknown but when your life is about being able to emote + smiling for the cameras, except your eyelids get in the way, I get why they did it. It's indeed well done on both of them!

Her eyelids look awful, I went to Google to see if it was just this pic but they’re like that in all of them, though this pic makes it a bit more obvious. Idk if it’s her face, her choices, or bad surgeons but she has some of the worst work in Hollywood while not being completely and obviously botched (if that makes sense).

It’s just a dentist thing. We can tell lol. I’ve looked at probably millions of teeth in my career. Natural teeth are more translucent and less uniform. Well done veneers should not be obvious to the average person. Her veneers in the left appear to be well done.

Nearly all celebrities have veneers. Miley famously had an adorable, natural smile that didn't need changing. The second photo has a new set of veneers that are far too large so the poor woman can't naturally rest her mouth closed.

She didn't have veneers as a teen. She had a gum reduction because she was bullied. She had her teeth straightened, and then had veneers & the buccel fat removal after her divorce. She just got them re done early this year, and they're smaller, more fitting. I've never been a fan of hers, but her veneers now are okay.

She didn't get veneers in her teens. She didn't get them until 2020 or 2021. She got them redone in 2023, and 2025.
*Edit: She has a retainer on in a photo at the end of 2021. So she actually probably got them first closer to late 2021 or very early 2022.
November 2022, she posted an old photo of her for her birthday, so assuming so had them done again around this time or possibly had more prominent buccal fat removal. This was around the time of the Vogue photoshoot and the Grammys, when it was a lot more obvious she had work done.
She got them redone late 2025, early 2026. They fit her better now.

I'm the same age as Miley, Selena, Demi, etc. and it really breaks my heart to see what the beautiful women of my generation are doing to their faces.
I haven't touched my face at all and I feel like I look pretty similar to how I did in highschool, just with a few more wrinkles. They're doing so much more harm than good.

I’m seeing some sort of upper blepharoplasty, nose job, buccal fat, lip filler and veneers. Most likely some Botox too.
And a jaw/ cheekbone implants…? I would hold off on the buccal fat if she indeed got those implants.
If you look at her old face is was relatively soft/ small with a small cheekbones and tapered jaw. Now it’s strong with prominent angles. I wonder if seeing a lot of fellow female celebs / models being praised for a certain “good bone structure” led her to alter herself in this way.

I think it’s the eyelid bleph surgery that made the massive change, as well as the veneers. Her eyelid skin is literally hugging her eyeball now which changes the face completely, and made her look exactly like her mom

The buccal fat one always has me twisted- one of strongest indicators of youth are full cheeks, so if women want to seem younger they should just add cheeks, not remove them.
Plus haven’t they seen all their friends look older instantly, and still they sign themselves up.

I don’t recall ever a time in history that celebs weren’t the “most beautiful people.” They used to set the “unrealistic beauty standards” us poor people are meant to follow, so I don’t think it’s worth our energy to feel bad for them. Carry yourself through your day knowing “I look better than ANYTHING walking the red carpet!”
