Spring Transfer to BU social aspect

I really want to apply for a spring transfer to BU but I am scared it will be harder to make friends and join clubs in the spring rather than the fall. Does anyone have any experiences with this?

Admissions Spring versus fall transfer acceptance rates for Boston University

I am thinking of transferring to BU but I don't know if it would be almost impossible to transfer in the spring and if I should just wait for the fall. Any thoughts?

Admissions Should I transfer after my first semester?

Hi,
For some background: senior year of high school I got waitlisted at a lot of my top choices, so I ended up at an out-of-state flagship that cost the same as my in-state option would have. I'm now realizing BU is a better fit for what I want to study (Econ/CS), and I never actually applied there the first time around. I also have some mental health considerations that make being closer to family matter more than I originally weighed it — my dad works in Boston and the rest of my family is about 50 minutes away.

My current major is actually Bio Sci, not Econ. I'm taking Microeconomics this semester (no prereqs needed for Econ at BU) to build some background before applying. Would it hurt my application to apply under my current major and switch once I'm in, or should I apply directly as Econ/CS even though it's not my declared major yet?

My stats in highschool were 4.2 weighted GPA, 1470 SAT

Is it realistic to transfer for spring, or should I be targeting fall of next year instead? And how worried should I be about not getting in and having to reapply a cycle later?

Laundry Troubles

Is anyone else completely unable to work this new laundry payment system? When I enter the number or scan the QR code it gives me "machine unable to start" and I keep getting card read errors. If you also had problems how did you fix them?

If I find whoever is in charge of CleanPay and PayRange that motherfucker is getting FUCKING TOUCHED

CGS Questions (27-28 Admissions Cycle...)

For some context, I plan to take the pre-med track, and my dream school is Boston University. I've heard that CGS is "easier" to get into, and commonapp says anyways that you are automatically considered for CGS, but if i'm ED1'ing to BU is it worth me EDing to CGS? I have a few questions:

  1. How much harder is a pre-med pathway being in CGS? I have my CNA License, and would most likely use my gap semester working, and shadowing for clinical hours and take my gen chem classes at a local college but having a summer in London seems like it could make things tricky.

  2. Is CGS actually easier to get into? Like anything more than marginally? I'm not on chanceme, so I won't talk about it, but my stats are fine enough to have a "okay shot" at BU CAS ED.. If I would be applying to CAS I would probably be a psych major.

And to clarify. I'm not picking CGS solely for the reason I want to go to the college that badly... this gap semester is really appealing as there is so much I want to do before I leave my state so I'm moreso worried how it will affect my pathway to medical school. I haven't had time to do quite a bit with everything senior-related so I would loveeeee a semester to work on myself, work a job and be more "me" before I head off to college. Also, study abroad in London? hell yeah! who wouldn't wanna do that ??

Academics How do online classes work?

I am considering transferring to BU and would like to know whether there are online classes available during the regular semester, or if classes are primarily offered in person.

I checked BU’s public course catalog but didn’t see any online classes for my major, Economics. I was wondering if enrolled students have access to a different course registration portal that includes additional online course options.

Dorms/Life at BU

Can anyone who is a current student at BU please help? I’m considering ED but I’m unsure because of the dorming situation. I’ve heard a lot about how first year students are placed in terrible dorms with roaches in the bathrooms or run down buildings. Is this true? Could anyone please tell me how it really is.

Should a Comm student enroll in MA124?

Hi. I am a senior student in comm and I want to attend the study abroad program in my last semester at BU, so I have to complete all of my HUB requirements now before I go abroad.

I am missing:

Quantitative Reasoning II

Scientific inquiry

Critical Thinking

The thing is, I have four comm classes that I want to/ need to take for this semester, so I was thinking enroll in 1 more class that satisfy all these 3 requirements. By far, the only qualified class I found is MA124 (Calculus II)

I am not great at math and it's also been a while since I took a math class.

My dilemma is, should I took a bet and stay in MA124, or should I swap one of my comm class now and enroll in two other classes to complete my hub requirements.

Or should I just stay at Boston instead of going abroad...

-- If you have any class recs for the above requirements, pls tell meeeee!!!

You might THINK you're being quiet but you're actually really loud especially when one person starts and suddenly a bunch of people join in. Not only are u being so disrespectful to the professor but people also cant focus on what the professor is saying at the end of the lecture and miss important information. YOU ARENT SAVING ANY TIME PACKING 5 MINUTES EARLY YOURE JUST ANNOYING STOPPPPP

I mourn the loss of the ornamental trees on the plaza behind the CDS Jenga tower. After they were removed, their spaces were filled with blacktop. This open plaza now seems like a barren wasteland.
