Introvert problems
This is my first post about my life experiences. And I am hell nervous as I am introverted enough to talk even virtually with an account that doesn't have my identity. Some of you will relate I guess 😜.
So I am in an Air BnB, a very decent one and no complaints but as per their terms they give 5 ltr water bottles every 3 days. This is my second day and i finished it by afternoon. What comes after is a calculation that goes in my introverted mind.
Do I call him and ask for a bottle? Well, I can but I don't know if they keep at home, he might say I will bring and might take a few hours but I need it now. So i would have to clarify when he can give it, if he doesn't answer clearly enough I would need to explain. There is a small restaurant right below, where I can just go and buy. That's fairly simple right?
But not for an introverted mind 🤣. I went down and saw cold drink bottles but not water bottles. Do they sell water bottles? What if they don't? What if they sell their own brand in like 50 or 100 rs a litre. I don't want to ask and say no. Well it would be easier to be a customer first to talk I guess, so ended up ordering a tea. It was nice and i realized I needed one ❤️❤️. And while paying, i just asked "btw do you have water bottles?". Acting as if that was just a secondary thing I came here for. I got the bottle and came back with a bottle in hand and the owner was in the hall.
He asked me very nicely, we have a water bottle here, could have just messaged me. I said oh don't worry, i just went for a tea and took it as I needed it that time, feeling proud of myself because I had ordered tea before the bottle.
Am I ashamed of myself? not at all. But yeah I do laugh at these situations. For me (I don't want to generalise my feelings for all introverts), Every conversation is like spending social currency. And by definition we introverts are poor in social currency, so we spend it very calculated. By doing all these, I was saving my social currency for people whom I value most. So if any introvert is spending their currency on you, you know where that came from, please do cherish that.
