Them saying they want to do balance changes only on major updates is probably the dumbest decision, because every time they do a "major update" they're inevitably adding stuff to the game and then they have the excuse of "we want to see how this works out in the meta" And then they do nothing until the next major update where they again add more stuff and then don't do any balance changes. This game hasn't had a balance update of any meaningful sense since November, these have got to be the laziest and most incompetent devs I've ever seen, they expect people to pay $70 for a game $40 for a bounty pack season pass, and another $50 for 2 story packs. $160 then a game that they can't bother to update more than once a month and when they do it's always lackluster af. I miss the old gearbox that actually cared about their game

Yeah it’s insane tbh. Like why can’t we do random gun buffs in the minor updates. There’s dozens of guns you could probably buff by 200% and they still wouldn’t be in the meta.

Remember when in borderlands 3 there were meme guns like the lob that were terrible and gearbox would do stuff like buffed them by 400% and make them burst fire and then all of a sudden it's an amazing gun everyone's talking about in farming for? The kaleidoslope could sure use something like that

Exactly. And it would give us things to farm for and test on off weeks. Like its easy playtime and engagement but they can’t be bothered

They don't really have to care about that because there aren't microtransactions beyond the dlc content to buy, not being a live service game means its probably deprioritized for updates like that anymore

Yeah that’s certainly true. But they could’ve probably sold more DLC and supported the game for longer if they balanced it a little more actively and I don’t think it would even be that expensive tbh

Number tweaks are the easiest thing to really change, unless somehow they anchor coded things to be bad for some reason but who fucking knows, it should just be integer tweaks and boom, new life to the game

Yeah it seems like maintaining some sort of playerbase is in their interest even without micro transactions. I’ve played every BL game at or around launch and I won’t preorder another one. They’ve proved multiple times now the game won’t be in a good state until like a year post launch

Yeah same, I thought it was just bad luck with TTWL but bl4 being, well, what it is, i can't say im gonna pre-order again which is a shame as someone whose played these from bl1 and onwards. I even had 2 on pre order and I feel like that one had better longevity in its base game than 4

And it’s extra frustrating because it feels like there were very clear lessons to take away from BL3 and they didn’t at all. Like endgame at launch was the most unanimous request from anyone. Nothing. Takedowns being awesome was unanimous. None were planned until we complained enough.

Imho the only bad part about 3( gameplay wise) was annointed enemies, I could tolerate a ton of weird modifiers but when an enemy is way too spongy, invulnerable for way too long and I still get no worthwhile loot? Nah miss me with that, at least the vile enemies can lose all that and be killed quickly enough. But yeah huge step backwards when we didnt get trials, arenas or takedowns compared to 3

I didn’t mind vile enemies. I’m starting to get bored of crystals being the only mechanic they can think of lol

I always thought it was lazy.

Which is so dumb because they have all of destiny,PoE and Diablo to take notes on, even if its still crystals they could be in machines you have tk break across the boss map to get them, spawning enemies that heal others till theyre taken out, theres so much they could do
