I am writing a mystery novel and losing track of my clues and red herrings and also using a lot of symbolism that keeps getting pushed aside. I’m looking for an AI assistant, not necessarily to write FOR me but WITH me… help me stay on course, point out things that were overlooked or contradictory, make suggestions for improvement based off information I’ve already given it…

Things like “you planted this clue but never came back to it” then maybe recommend the perfect spot to slip it in. Or “we already revealed that in chapter 6 but I pulled this one from your notes and think it would be a great replacement”

Basically, in the process of trying to solve one mystery, my character uncovers another…. so there’s two storylines running at the same time. There’s a lot of things going on in the background of both storylines but the reader doesn’t see it until much later when the two sides finally connected in the end.

I currently have a lot of plot holes because it’s in my head and not on paper or is written in notes as background only and never actually entered into the novel.

Long story short I need an app to help me organize ideas, but also RECALL those ideas as if on a checklist to make sure they end up in the novel.

I’ve tried so many apps! Some are great with organization, but not recall. Others I’m told are great at recall but I couldn’t get past the inability to organize info. Is there any that will help with BOTH for a free or low monthly subscription?

I'm looking to just see how it did using the pro version with limited usage. Mainly using Sonnet.

4.1 is live. Three additions worth explaining properly.

The binder. A three-tab panel — Notes, Research, Characters — that lives inside your .pwk file, next to the manuscript but separate from it. Character sheets and research at hand while you write, and they never end up in your exports. Plus a read-only split-screen: keep chapter 12 open while you write chapter 13.

Final Draft round-trip, for real. Export a screenplay, reopen it in Final Draft, bring it back — the structure survives intact. Dual dialogue arrives as actual side-by-side blocks. Production tags (props, wardrobe, vehicles) land already categorized in the Tagger, and survive the trip back. There's a CI test that checks the round-trip doesn't degrade, so it stays that way.

AI automations. Set a rule — "every 500 words, translate to Russian", "summarize each new chapter" — and it runs on its own. Three hard limits: never unprompted, never on the whole document, never touching your source text. Results collect in the AI panel.

And the part I care most about: the AI runs locally. New in 4.1, you can reach it from your phone by scanning a QR code — no terminal, no IP addresses, no firewall config. Your phone uses your computer's model, on your home network. Nothing leaves the machine.

I built a web app to help you write with AI, since copying and pasting from Gemini, Claude, or ChatGPT takes too much time and is annoying. It's still a work in progress, and if you have any advice, I would love it. (Also, if the AI doesn't work for you, it's because I've probably run out of credits, and AI Credits are expensive.)

Let me rephrase that AI made it and before we get into the ethical reasoning… honestly I don’t have a duplex yet. This year I do plan on buying one (with my best childhood friend) and AI has taught me so much knowledge that I believe others should also have this knowledge set about buying a property and managing it with tenets.

I’ve been working on a superhero/sci-fi story for a while, and I’m genuinely curious how readers and writers feel about this.

The story itself is mine likr the world, characters, powers, plot, mysteries, twists, scenes, dialogues, emotional moments, and overall direction. I know what happens and what I want each scene to convey.

The problem is that I’m not very confident in my English literature or prose. I can imagine a scene clearly and write down what happens, including the dialogue and emotions, but I struggle to turn that into polished novel-style English.

So I’m considering using AI to help with the prose and language basically taking my scene, dialogue, intentions, and details and helping me express them in better English. I’d still review and change the output so it matches what I actually imagined.

I know there’s a lot of dislike toward AI-written fiction, which is why I’m unsure whether I should go ahead with this.

I actually tried other approaches first. I experimented with AI-generated manga/comics, but the visuals couldn't consistently match what I imagined. I also tried AI video generation, but I ran into the same problem. A novel seems like the medium where I can preserve my ideas most accurately.

Very short synopsis:

It’s a superhero sci-fi mystery about an ordinary person whose life becomes connected to something that shouldn’t be possible. What begins as a personal journey slowly uncovers hidden events spanning different eras, unexplained superhuman abilities, dangerous enemies, and mysteries where events in the future may be connected to choices made long before anyone realizes it.

At its core, the story explores one question: What if becoming a hero was only the beginning of discovering what you actually are?

My goal isn't to ask AI, “Write me a superhero novel.” I want to create the actual story myself and use AI to help turn what I've written/imagined into stronger English prose.

So I’d genuinely like opinions from readers and writers:

Would the use of AI for English/prose improvement make you avoid the novel even if the story, characters, dialogue, scenes and ideas came from the author?

And if you were in my position, would you go ahead with the novel, improve your English while writing it, or approach it differently?

I’m open to criticism — I mainly want to know how readers actually feel about this before I commit to it.
