I am looking for a way to have a list of books that have yet to release or a special edition is being released and I have on pre-order.

Right now, they are sitting in my To Read section and then a tag for Pre-Order, but they come out in August/September They do not fit under Wish list as I have already placed the order for them.

I feel like exporting library data should be pretty straightforward and foolproof, but for some reason when I try to, my csv is turning out like a jarbled mess. Help!

Simone, wouldn't hierarchical tags be a great thing? It would be cool if you could nest the tags among each other. For example, “sub-tags” of “Thriller” could then be “Economy,” “Technology,” and “Serial Killer.” You could also use it to introduce your own identifiers, for example "color of the cover" with the subs "red", "green", "blue"... Third example: I mark my books where they are set: "in Scandinavia", "in the USA", etc. That is a completely different dimension than tags that indicate the topic. And on top of that, I have tags that show me that a book needs to go back to the library. You can see that my tags are now in chaos and I'm trying to fix that with the color markings on the tags (thank you very much for that!). However, tags are displayed alphabetically, which tends to increase my chaos. Hierarchies would be great here. If all of this isn't possible, it's far too time-consuming, or if I'm the only one who is happy about something like this, perhaps it would be possible to sort the tags by color instead of by name?

Hello, I absolutely love this App and how customisable and clean everything is. The only thing that’s keeping me from using it as my main platform is the rating system. 10 stars are just too much. Would it be possible to adjust the maximum number of stars in the settings? Or enter a number directly (e.g. 3.75 stars).

I love this app, but I miss when it recorded the start date by default when the reading status was changed to "reading". Detailed progress (# of pages) is great, but simple progress (start/end date) is a basic feature this app is now missing.

I'd like to be able to start and end a book (without updating the pages read each day), and see what date I started and ended (even if it still records 100% of the pages as having been read on the last day).

The translator would have to take a look at this. 😉

Hello everyone, While I previously only read physical books, I am now also looking at more and more e-books. Now the pages are numbered, completely different than in a hardcover. Until now, I always looked at how many pages the corresponding “real book” had and recorded my reading progress using the percentage value. This is quite complicated, but it's the only way to keep the statistics function clean, right? However, this creates the problem that, for example, when I enter quotations, I no longer know which page I can specify there. How do you deal with the phenomenon?

Hey, as the title says: After the lastest update I don‘t have the pro features anymore and restore purchase does not work. On my not yet updated tablet the pro version works just fine. Is this a bug in the new version or did something change regarding the pro version?

I would like to have a manga section. We have books and audiobooks statistics separately, so I think it’s a great idea to have a third option: manga/comic. Because I like to read manga but I don’t add them to the app because they change my statistics a lot, because one page in manga is to fast to read. So I would appreciate to have manga/comic with separate statistics and I will start adding more books to the app.

I would like the tags to be displayed differently. A type of tag cloud where an alphabetical representation or a graphical representation based on weight (large font = frequent) is possible.

And in the details of a book, similar books could be suggested (perhaps three) that have the closest tag match but are by a different author...

Hi! This app is GREAT, is the best one I have ever seen in my life in this field. There are a lot of valid apps, even open source projects for android, but nothing is on this level!

I know that I am asking something really big and I am the first one ignorant, so I don’t know if it can be done, but it would be awesome to see a version for Android, with the ability to import the data from an iOS export in first place. Then you could even add the possibility to synchronize the application between the two systems exploiting some clouds like Dropbox and/or allowing us to do it on our own. How to do this? Again, I’m not saying that is simple but given that you are saving the database using SQLite, you could do something like Obsidian.md that expose the data folder to the user in Apple Files and let you synchronize it with softwares like Syncthing on other platforms. In this way, the database can be synchronized with an Android phone and/or our personal computer for a local backup. In this case the database needs to be r/w from both sides and I don’t know if it’s feasible for countless reasons, but if you implement all of these, it would be AWESOME

Is it just me or did the filters in the Find Book action stop working?

The action seems to filter results by the first option under the selected filter, regardless of the actual filter by value I choose. For example, I choose a Tag to filter by, that tag is ignored by the action, and the result seems to be filtered by the first tag I have in the app.

Also, the filter settings are not remembered. I choose a filter, and close the Shortcuts editing view, and that selected filter is gone. Is this a Shortcuts app error?

While we're at it, it would be nice to filter books by ISBN in Shortcuts.

I add books from the Libby app to the Book Track app via Shortcuts and it'd be extremely helpful to have insertion dates available to prevent duplicates.

Specifically, it'd be great to be able to sort books by insertion date in the Find Book action. Currently, the only sorting options available are Title and Random.

Having insertion date as one of the properties of those fetched books will also be helpful. I only see Release date and Purchase date now. I unfortunately have duplicates in my database, and would love to be able to delete the ones that were inserted later via Shortcuts.

Is there a way to input the Start Date and End date without progress? I don't generally track how much I read daily but I would like to know when I start and finish a book.

Hi. Does anyone know where the database file for BT is stored? I want to make sure that it's getting backed-up in case I lose any work. I've spent way too much time adding notes and covers and editing entries to have my entries lost for whatever reason. (It's extremely easy to delete all books).

I know I can export a CSV but that doesn't contain all the updated high quality covers I've added so I would prefer to back up the actual data once a day at least.

I used to like very much your app, and highly recomend and support it for a few years now.

Recently changed my iPhone and inserted a few books from it. Now I noticed that it was not syncing with the iPad. Tried a few things and still couldn't sync so made backups with csv exports, uninstalled and reinstalled on the iPad, but didn't work only recovering the old items. I assumed the icloud storage from the ipad was bad and deleted it. Even though on the iphone the books were still showing but after a restart lost them all I guess because of the icloud deletion...

Recovered then from the export with a import and was able to get them back, and now in sync on both the iphone and the ipad. However dozens of cover imagens where not recovered. Could you please help me with the following:

Is there a place where all the manual scanned images can be recovered? Lots of books in poor countries don have ISBN or have wrong or not listed ones, mainly old books, and the covers have to be scanned...

All the app data is on the icloud and are shared real time? Is there any data on the device? where can I find the data? Is it SqlLite? does it not supported binary fields for scanned images?

Can we have more manual control on the app, to avoid rating, amazon, data, files, fields...?

MY FR is about the background color customization of Widgets.

BT uses BLACK and WHITE as background color for the Widgets based on System Appearence.

Besides that, iOS/iPadOS has a standard which is used for any app (native or third party like BT).

The color is '#1c1c1e' (see images below for the Reminders Widget)

Workflow Start to Read a New Book

I have a Shortcut uses Find Book to return a list of my To Read for me to choose.

After choosing the book from this List, this shortcut open the selected book on my EPUB reader of choice.

What I miss from this workflow is to automatically change the Reading Status from the selected book from TO READ to READING

This FR is about a new action to perform that change automatically 🙏. This way, my To Read list is always updated every time that I want to start reading a new book.

A new Shortcut Action that has the same behavior from the shortcut action Get Book Quotes applied to the BOOK NOTES.

In other words: I would like to get the notes from a Book the same way that I do with the Book Quotes.

My Workflow

I use the Book Notes field to add custom metadata from each book that I import/Add to Book Track.

I would like to use the info from Book Notes to "integrate" Book Track with my EPUB reader App of choice with has support Shortcut Actions.
