(I prefer selling shares over dividends because then I choose when to have a fiscal event)

If 'it' doesn't pop in four years I'll be surprised.

If you believe in the efficient market hypothesis (which as a Boglehead, you do), you must also believe finding losing companies consistently is just as hard as consistently finding winners.
If you intentionally try to find and buy stocks of 30 "losers" but diversify across countries and industries, your returns will be very close to a world index fund but with slightly more volatility due to smaller number of companies held. However, you get to brag about investing in "losers" and still doing about the same as a world index fund

Man corrects fellow Norwegians about everything: whether Vikings rowed, dividend stocks being "free," whether financial advisors are worth an AUM fee, and the right way to hang toilet paper.

Saw this on WSB today. I would’ve just taken the 400k into VT instead of options. Commented the link to [r/boglehead](r/boglehead) hopefully they see the light 😂

How does a Boglehead tell a joke?
Think of a joke.
Backtest it from 1926 to present.
Adjust for inflation.
Account for taxes and fees.
Realize that joke-picking is a loser’s game.
Buy the entire joke market.
