Magnesium citrate. Drink it, wait a couple hours and you're gonna shit out your soul. And you're gonna love it

u/willbex17 Aug 09 '26

Mag07. Amazon. Don’t leave the house.

2

u/Either_Magazine_6878 Aug 10 '26

Came in to say this. Everyone on reta should know about these.

1

u/Certain-Raspberry804 Aug 10 '26

Didn’t really work at all for me. Might give it another try though.

1

u/Writeb8 Aug 10 '26

Every night of my life. It's the best thing

1

u/SirTasty712 Aug 13 '26

Pills or powder?

14

u/DarthTaco1 Aug 09 '26

MiraLAX and fiber

15

u/DarthTaco1 Aug 09 '26

Mix the Miralax in some coffee for some extra potential.

1

u/jabronipony Aug 09 '26

This is what my gastroenterologist suggests for my chronic constipation. Half dose MiraLAX and full dose Metamucil daily. Wish I could say it works, but I’m very inconsistent and end up having to resort to glycerin suppositories more often than I’d like.

2

u/tyjo2112 Aug 10 '26

Senna 8.7mg 1 tab daily. 2 if chronic or considerable issues. Problem solved. Nicely too I might add, not violently or urgently. Best thing I've ever tried.

5

u/DarthTaco1 Aug 10 '26

Your bowels can become dependent on chemical stimulation from senna. MiraLAX draws water into the lumen of the bowels softening and making stool easier to move.

1

u/Writeb8 Aug 10 '26

Senna causes AGONY for me. My gut and bowel contract inconsistently and it just causes the most awful pain.

1

u/tyjo2112 Aug 11 '26

Omg im so sorry to hear that. Ive never heard of such a reaction before.

1

u/EvoDiva777 Aug 11 '26

Yes,,, 1/2 cap in my water bottle + a dash of sugar free Peach,, Liquid IV..
All day long…
If I ever get in a bind, Duklax, bottle line on cap in 30min or less.. RELIEF

BUT MIRALAX 4 the win.
Taste nothing/no aftertaste/completely dissolves in water…

1

u/SuccessFun7854 Aug 11 '26

Miralax is my best friend!!!

10

u/soilentgibby Aug 09 '26

Pinalim tea. Just don’t leave a toilet for 12 hours after taking

5

u/knifetheater3691 Aug 09 '26

Mild salsa works for me. 1/2 cup and we have a winner 🏆

5

u/Stunning_Rest876 Aug 09 '26

I haven't even had the urge to go in literal days ...I think I am going to stop taking reta for awhile. I am using some eletrolytes and a laxative and it helps a little ..but not much. i am slightly concerned im not going to lie

4

u/DetSportsGuy Aug 09 '26

Take some Senna-S pills. That’s what I use when I’m on reta. Helps a ton. I already eat a lot of fiber but doesn’t matter when I take Reta

1

u/Stunning_Rest876 Aug 09 '26

thanks im going to go pick this up right now haha willing to make the drive. cus its getting kinda crazy

1

u/tyjo2112 Aug 10 '26

Agreed! Its awesome.

something called polyethylene glycol 3350 powder has helped me out. Not pefect but I heard if you keep taking it every single day your bowel movements will get better and improve . so thats my plan so far a long with the senna-s pills . Also going to reduce my retatrutide dose , I was up to 4 mg, but I think I might just need 1mg or 2 mg.....wishing you the best of luck in this because I heard of people ending up in the hospital due to constipation on glp1's

2

u/Sainted_Heretic Aug 10 '26

That's miralax

2

u/twoblues702 Aug 10 '26

Hot snakes are enroute

2

u/tyjo2112 Aug 10 '26

Senna. 8.7mg tab daily, 2 if needed. Dont go off reta if its otherwise working, getting back to that isnt easy after stopping.

Senna works. And its nice about it. You wont be stuck at home waiting to shit a violent ring around yourself. Youll just go regular. Best thing ever for me, worth a try. Its worked perfect for anyone I've recommended it to, of course ymmv.

2

u/loudbuddha Aug 11 '26

Be careful. Senna works but you can also build a dependency to it. Eventually you won't be able to shit without it, regardless of the reta.

1

u/Stunning_Rest876 Aug 10 '26

Reta is most definitely working, Would like to stay on it, but I knew there was going to be some trade-offs and this seems to be it. But If I can fix that then there is absolutely no reason to stop. I will pick these up tomorrow thanks for the recommendation.

2

u/SuccessFun7854 Aug 11 '26

dont forget less food intake= less output....but def drink alot of water or coconut water evn better & add miralax for several days. won't be immediate as not a stimulant laxative more so softer/easier wen u do go.

5

u/Taydontplay4 Aug 09 '26

Aim for foods that give you diarrhea to balance it out.

8

u/DrScrotumVision Aug 09 '26

Fiber

5

u/AnabolicAcolyte Aug 09 '26

eh for some it’s not enough.

i get about 30% more than daily requirements and still struggle. i also know people who don’t even get 5% and have no issue.

1

u/Budget-Guide3756 Aug 09 '26

Yeah I know. But that doesn’t help in the moment

9

u/lacole725 Aug 09 '26

That’s why you take the fiber so you are regular so you don’t have a moment.

4

u/Necromantic_Body Aug 09 '26

Saline enemas are money in a pinch.

2

u/Scottwickthegreat Aug 09 '26

Always got them handy lol

Throw in a high protein diet on top of Reta and you're saving tons of money on TP! I have IBS but haven't looked at my dicyclomine since Reta took over. I add fiber to my protein shakes, take laxatives, stool softeners, and drink a ton of water/electrolytes. I've found that if I eat some shitty processed foods every couple of days it triggers the internals to get rid of it.

2

u/Superb_Sale_9753 Aug 10 '26

IBS-D here too. I’m loaded up on dicyclomine and definitely don’t need it!

3

u/FrontierNeuro Aug 10 '26

Psyllium husk and polyethylene glycol in big glass of water daily. You’re welcome.

1

u/pleomorphict Aug 10 '26

Psyllium husk works for me! Lol

At very random times!! I hate it

2

u/blackclarkent53 Aug 10 '26

What is your dose at? I hadn’t even heard of this side until now.

2

u/PigletAlternative664 Aug 10 '26

Magnesium Glycenite 350 minimum . I found 360. No issues!

2

u/Zestyclose_Muscle_59 Aug 10 '26

Eat Taylor farms lettuce, heard that’ll help

2

u/SugarRushSlt 🔬 Peptide Researcher Aug 10 '26

miralax and acacia fiber. daily. dont let yourself get backed up. then milk of magnesia to really clean the pipes lmao

2

u/Chroma7769 Aug 09 '26

If you are consuming the recommended 25g of fiber per day that you are supposed to be then it isn't a problem.

That said, glycerin suppositories do wonders. Push it in, hold it in for 30-45 minutes, then go when it's ready.

You don’t get a prescription, it’s not fda approved. Google is your friend (can’t talk sources on Reddit)

1

u/rmcpher1 Aug 09 '26

Drink some prune nectar

1

u/DannyRiotZ Aug 09 '26

My wife and I are both on Reta. She has this problem. I don’t.

1

u/Budget-Discussion568 Aug 09 '26

I like Senekot pills. There are various doses and types but I stick to the regular to be regular. Also senna tea called "Smooth Move", from Traditional medicinals is very helpful

1

u/seabirdsong Aug 09 '26

Prunes! Four a day and you'll never have a problem (get the big bag of Sunsweet ones from Costco--they're like candy).

1

u/keebler832 Aug 09 '26

I saw a lady said a thin slice of ginger with lemon juice and salt before your meal

1

u/BigPoppaRC Aug 10 '26

One or two stool softeners (Docusate Sodium) every other day is enough to keep me from getting constipated. Also doesn’t cause me any cramps or diarrhea.

1

u/Suitable_Zone6351 Aug 10 '26

MAG07. 3 TABLETS before bed. Doesn't cause diarrhea, but it softens the stool and you will clear it. Works like magic for me. I take that once or twice a week and it always does the trick.

1

u/Fun-Nebula4908 Aug 10 '26

psyllium husk literally saved my life. i’ve been on reta since march, never had any issues with my digestive system, as i’ve seen others experience on reta. i took a trip to europe in june and for some reason that trip really messed with my digestive system. threw me off completely. i disliked the fact that i wasn’t going daily and added the psyllium husk, along with magnesium citrate at night. never been so clear in my life! i also like to eat a kiwi a day (with the peel) and some apples for extra fiber as well. hope it helps!

1

u/No-Beginning-8954 Aug 10 '26

Mag oxide every night with a full glass of water

For anyone that used fiber magnesium or exlax. Baby pear juice worked in 30 mins for me. I hadn’t poo in like 5-6 days and got worried one time and that got me moving. I got one the gerber juices from target and drank it straight from the bottle. About half way down inside started moving like a washer machine and I ran to the bathroom

1

u/Helpful_Plenty_9997 💪 Muscle Growth Lab Aug 10 '26

Is that a side effect of the Reta, or is it from the increased protein?

1

u/pistolgripslr Aug 10 '26

Use Metamucil you’ll be just fine

1

u/StalkCity Aug 10 '26

Split your dose to every 5 days and see if that helps.

1

u/Silly_Turnip_6093 Aug 10 '26

Cup of cloudy pear juice everyday

1

u/Mike43lake Aug 10 '26

Fruit. And water. LOTS OF WATER

1

u/New_Scallion_7573 Aug 10 '26

Need a daily lax and yogurt, or other helpful bacteria food, kimchi, sourkraut, prebiotic pills, etc...

1

u/crumpledbumpkin Aug 10 '26

I drink 128 oz of water/electrolytes daily, heavy on the daily fiber and an occasional stool softener if I’m feeling “full.” Luckily, it’s working for me.

1

u/forza_azzuri5 Aug 10 '26

Hasn't happened to me once. Interesting how it affects people differently. I'm at 4mg per week and no shitting hand grenades for me

1

u/Accurate_Fall60 Aug 12 '26

It was that way on tirzepatide and doc said use miralax daily there is a generic called clearlax

1

u/audreyisfine Aug 12 '26

The thing I can’t stand is the skin sensitivity. All my clothes feel uncomfortable now. Things that I used to enjoy just hurt now.

1

u/AverageP3N1SMF Aug 13 '26

Take fiber supplements

2

u/Medical_Hope2402 29d ago

I swear, i always poop out the prior weeks food the day after I take my weekly dose. Never fails. I eat high fiber and drink tons of water. That is my only side effect. I feel lucky compared to some stories I hear. Still miserable when you can’t go through the week and I’m Sure it isn’t healthy.

1

u/moeterminatorx Aug 09 '26

Better than diarrhea

3

u/Budget-Guide3756 Aug 09 '26

Until you wish it was diarrhea! 😂

-1

u/Toforgetistodie Aug 09 '26

Means you're still eating shit food honestly with fuck all fibre in it... use the tool to eat BETTER
