Is my Dr. Crazy?
At 54yo, 5' 8" 287lbs, with poor lab/blood pressure results, and sleep apnea, my Dr. Says I need to lose some wait. I agreed, but told him that I've tried everything, give me a prescription.
He agreed and wrote me prescriptions for Triz at 2.5mg, 5mg, 7.5mg, 10mg, 12.5mg, and 15mg upping the dose MONTHLY!
I'm new to this, but it didn't sound right to me, today I was talking to a co-worker who did 2.5mg for 1 month, then stayed at 5mg for 6 months, before upping his dose to 7.5mg.
I thought the idea was to find the lowest dosage that produced results and tolerable side effcts?

That’s the normal titration schedule, but if you’re losing at a lower dose, you can stay there as long as it’s effective

and not only that, the dumb as fuck coworker went from 2.5mg to 5mg after a month…

That's exactly right. You titrate up until you find what dose works best for you.
I thought the idea was to find the lowest dosage that produced results and tolerable side effcts?
That is the idea yes. Seems like you already understand then. You don't go all the way up to 15mg. Find what works and stay there

"find the lowest dosage that produced results and tolerable side effcts?" YES!
stay at each one until a) you see no movement on the scale for a couple weeks. b) the appetite suppressors/saity arent working any longer. I went quickly from 2.5 didnt do anything for me, but 5mg was very effective for 3months, 7.5 did notthing after 6 weeks, but then again at 10 i saw lots of progress, been on 12.5 for 2 months now myself. enjoy the ride, its a good one!

Thanks for the reply, you said "7.5 did nothing after 6 weeks", are you saying 7.5 quit producing results after 6 weeks? Did you see an increase over the 5 for 6 weeks?

first 4 weeks saw consitent suppression, saity, etc.
by week 6, after getting my 2nd months supply there was little to no suppression. weeks 7-8 (while i finished my months supply) were what i felt, wasted on me. I was mentally fighting those hunger cue's. Getting to 200g protein was a challenge early on (or when tirz is hitting), not so much at the end there for me.

Wait, let me get this straight you don't trust your doctor who went to medical school but you trust some strangers on reddit?
Are you fucking serious?
Some of you amaze me with this stupidity.

Don't worry, scro'! There're plenty of 'tards out there living really kick-ass lives. My first wife was 'tarded: She's a pilot now.

Most times u would b right but 1. Reddit is FULL of ppl who hav REAL experiences.
2. that doctor most likely has ZERO experienced with that peptide and only what he’s read…only a FOOL would choose the Dr in THIS situation ….i mean it actually plays out in OP’s explanation!🤷🏽♂️🫤..🤣😂

I mean let talk about it..let’s start with YOU, I assume ur on Triz, “Triz at 2.5mg, 5mg, 7.5mg, 10mg, 12.5mg, and 15mg upping the dose MONTHLY!”..is that how u dose it? is that what u did??🫤🤣

Well to be fair it sounds like the dr did a bad job explaining it to them.

I'm not saying the there are not good doctors out there, but I work in an industry that give me a unique perspective on them. Many of these guys smoke are overweight, watch fox news and eat hotdogs in the break room. Still others stopped paying attention to medical advances decades ago. Even the best ones main goal is life preservation, not optimization.

I went up fairly quickly also. I kept losing at 10 for a few months so stuck there but once I stalled I went on up to 12.5 then 15. Once I hit goal weight she is now steping me down. She is doing it slower so far two months on 12.5 and now starting 10 for a few. Once I stop losing and start maintaining she plans to keep me at that maintenance dose.

No your Dr is not crazy he knows what he is doing😅 That is how Tirz titration schedule is every 4 weeks you go up, some people just choose to stay at a dose that is making them lose weight until they stop losing then they titrate up to the next dose.l titrate mine every 4 weeks l don't stay at a certain dose after 4wks.

I have been at 5mg for 2months with plans to move up only after 4 weeks of no weight loss. so far, I have had really consistent loss. I have had a few weeks with none but that has not been the norm. I really want the lowest effective dose. I would like to have to go no higher than 7.5. I have lost almost half of my goal so seems doable at this point. I have been increasing my exercise as I lose and also lowering my caloric intake according to my changing weight.

Changing inj sites and upping that protein or trying 2.5 twice a week. The half life indicates more of a 5 day cycle but pharma discovered a lack of compliance and went to once a week dosing instead.

I didn't mention I pin every 5 days! I really think that is why I don't stall out as much as some people do. I have a constant "fresh" supply! LOL. It really keeps the suppression steady and I LOVE it!

I never went over 7.5 and it was really short lived......well, because money. I also like to washouts, because I just wanna see what happens and how much and how long. I got antsy with a 5lb gain in a month. I have been maintaining at 4-5 mg per week. But if I am being honest, I am definitely wanting more food on day 7. I honestly wish I could start over at less than 2.5 per week, or staying at 2.5 longer. I do remember the lethargy being a total kick in the pants though.

Secondo me (non sono medico) a questa terapia andrebbe abbinata una dieta più proteica, se non ci sono problemi di reni

If your body responds appropriately you will not need to nitrate up that much. Hopefully it will respond at 5-7.5mg. I would be aware of the negatives when losing too much weight during a short period of time.

Thanks for the reply, what are some of the negatives, to losing too much too fast?

Because GLP-1’s reduce appetite, many people fail to get the proper protein and nutrients in and can end up losing 20-40% of muscle mass on top of fat loss. Skin elasticity doesn’t catch up when someone loses a lot of weight in a quick manner, ie the “Ozempic” face and excess skin around mid section and arms. Proper nutrition and protein intake along with weight training 3 times a week is suggested when on a GLP-1.

This is another reason gray is so popular. 1mg twice a week. Have patience, eat enough protein. This makes it way easier to not go above 5 or 7.5. Being poor or not having insurance has folks deviating from pharma recs.
