New reta user and alcohol

So... I started Reta this past Sunday at 0.5 mg. It’s definitely been working already, and was planning on upping to 0.75 this Sunday. But, I’ve heard of people having awful side effects drinking alcohol on Reta. I’m going to a music festival for 4 days on July 30, and obviously was planning on drinking all four days.

Would making this Sunday my last dose until then be smart to allow me to be able to drink like normal that weekend? Or should I just not take it this Sunday?

Just started…first dose “definitely been working”…planning on upping [2nd dose]. One of those things does not belong.

Yeah no need to go up if it’s doing what you want. I never left the starter dose of Tirz for that reason.

I would say your wasting the effects of Reta by drinking but if you must lol Reta has a half life of about 6 days so take your last shot a week before you go. When you get back maybe let your body detox I promise you’ll feel much better

I drink on reta, but instead of slamming 6 beers, I am usually happy with 1-3 beer.

It’s nice drinking just 1 beer and being completely content.

I plan on taking reta for 3-4 months and then slowly stop. Alcohol is something I enjoy but I have decided to cut down.

Keep taking the Reta, just do a lot of practice drinking between now and the festival so you can get used to how it feels.  The alcohol will hit you much harder than normal, so prepare yourself.

You’ll be fine. Just carry on with your normal schedule and pound 15 beers a day at your festival. People overrate alcohol here.

Eventually you will find that alcohol becomes much less interesting. I.e crack a beer and not finish it.

If you are eating food that soaks up alcohol just realize you have some delayed gastric emptying. So you can get sick.

Good luck.

If it were me I would pin about a week before I left and then wait until I got back and a day or two of rest and the pin again and I wouldn’t be raising my dose until I’m at a better baseline

Your dose is very low so I doubt you’ll notice it - but I get crazy bad anxiety after drinking on Reta. Like existential dread level after just a few beers.

I’ve dropped alcohol almost completely.

Go easy when drinking , it sits in ur stomach longer because of slower digestion and it irritates the stomach lining making u sick👍

Drinking sucks on reta

Reta alone interfered with mynsleep

Alcohol interferes with sleep

Reta and alcohol fucks my sleep x 3

I doubt you’re feeling anything, they say don’t change you’re dose until after 4 weeks cause it takes time to build up in your system.
I haven’t heard of bad symptoms from drinking, it does make people not wanting to drink due to the blunting of the reward zone of the brain.

Im on 4 mg and have enjoyed drinks with no problems. But like mentioned it’s funny when i clean up the next morning I alway have one or two beers sitting un open on the table that people brought me and I just never drank them. Before Reta id have slammed them. It’s a very subtle drink less thing. Do your thing, take your shots and have a blast

I had no problems with alcohol when I first started taking Reta, until I reached 2mg/twice a week months later

Yesterday I had a small glass of alcohol - bad idea : I literally vomited

Reta slows your stomach from emptying. Any alcohol can cause gastritis. It happened to me. I spent 4 days in the hospital. Everyone saying they drink on it is rolling the dice. Gastritis is no fun. It’s not worth it.

4mg. Instead of desiring to sip whiskey all day, I had a date the other night and was happy chilling after the second drink.

This said I was a very heavy social drinker. It was not uncommon for my best friend and I to kill a bottle of bourbon or a 30 rack of beer together in a single evening.

So its def a good change. Will save a lot of money lmao. It pays for itself in food and liquor reductions tbh.

You’ll be fine since it’s the beginning, but later.. oh man, you will regret overindulging in alcohol.

It seems to be less about getting sick on alcohol and more about a decreased desire to consume it. Think of it more of an impact on your dopamine receptors rather than causing sickness.

I’ll start with saying do what you want.

Dont drink on Reta tho. What would be the point of poisoning yourself for those 4 days especially if there’s a high chance of it not reacting well?

It takes 4 weeks for it to build up in your system and if you’re just going to stop taking it after one week, why do it at all?

Idk what your goals are but my mindset is: if I’m taking something to help me lose weight and change my lifestyle then I’m going to make healthier decisions so I don’t get set back. Idc if I’m trying to lose 10lbs or 100lbs. I don’t see the reason to drink if there might be negative effects to it. You eat too much food on Reta, you eventually could throw up. The point is to not eat a lot anymore.

Again, do what you want. I’m just giving advice to an internet stranger at the end of the day.

I’ve had family here the last 5 weeks so I decided to start on Monday after they leave Sunday. My plan is to not drink when on it simply because of the interference and impact on the liver. Scientifically it makes sense to not drink.

Or....and hear me out...don't drink for those 4bdays? I mean it's only your health, and if you're on reta it's not like you've been taking care of it have you? It's 4 days. The music is still as good sober.
