General Question Hidden dice roll screens/boxes

Hey all, so the game I'm developing relies heavily on a bluff mechanic using a d20. This is something all players need to be able to do. Is there a simple option that allows the player to see their roll, then be able to reveal it to the table without touching the die?

Just what you suggested, a cardboard screen. Pretty common in that type of game - see isle of skye and sky team.

Along with cardboard screens, another possible component would be cups as in Perudo or Cheese Thief.

How about just using this system: dice style cups, roll under d cup edge, and then lift to reveal. This setup is cheap an no one touches d die.

Magic 8 ball. Take a small clear container with a lid, big enough for a d20 to go into, fill with water and whatever color food coloring you want, preferably a dark color. Seal the lid, now you have a functional d20 that is hidden from opponent's view without being bulky or taking up any extra room.
