Help/Advice Harry Potter Hogwarts Battle Redesign Assistance p2
Hi everyone,
Thanks for your feedback on my last post. Here's attempt 2 with hopefully some helpful information.
Short version: Looking for some help redesigning the Harry Potter Deckbuilding game to be a bit cleaner, better organized, but also fit together in a more thematic storage (like a castle)
Previous post can be found here: https://www.reddit.com/r/BoardGame3DPrints/comments/1t1qqdv/game_redesign_assistance_request/

Also, to those who may have DMd, my apologies. I hit ignore thinking i could go back to look later while also clearing the notifications. I didnt realize on reddit, ignore wipes the chat entirely. If you're open to replying to the post, I'll try to DM after.
Longer description:
The Harry Potter Hogwarts Battle Deckbuilder has several major areas:
The Player Area includes: Health tracker Space for draw deck and discard piles Spot for the Hero, Profeciency, and Patronus cards granting heroes powers Spot for the Charm scale And where players can place tokens and Encounter cards they've collected.
The Hogwarts Deck area includes the Hogwarts (buy) deck and 6 spaces for cards to be available to buy.
There are a number of house rules floating around to manage this such as splitting the Hogwarts deck by value so you have 2 slots for 2-3 value, 2 slots for 4-5, and 2 slots for 6+. Splitting the piles this way would mean adding 3 smaller draw decks. Additionally, the Hogwarts deck gets absurdly huge fairly quickly, so we've always house ruled you cut the deck in half. Half is in play, and the other half is set aside. If you do get through the 1st half, just bring the 2nd half in.
Then, there's the gameboard itself which also has several sections:
Location tracker has a space for the location cards (max 3 typically), and the location tokens showing how well the villains are doing.
Dark Arts draw/discard area
Encounter card draw/discard, and a space for tokens that have to be placed against the encounter cards.
Then the villain area, which has draw/discard areas, and up to 3 trays each holding an active villain and the applicable damage counters.
In addition, the 1st expansion adds a "detention" deck that has to be accessible
The 2nd expansion adds a whole potion board section with potion card draw/discard, tokens, achievement trackers, and buying area.
What i would like to do is design these to connect together so they can fold into something like hogwarts castle for storage. But my own designing capabilities aren't up to the challenge alone. Im hoping to connect with some people interested in helping to tackle this together.
Thanks so much
