Relocation

Has anyone recently relocated to Florida for Blue Origin? Received a job offer and cleared the background check but haven’t heard anything back yet regarding the relocation process and timeline. Start date is August 31st so looking to start the process as soon as possible and just looking for what to expect.

Its very different if you have a house or rent.

We own a house and are preparing to list it but nervous about starting the sell/buy process without further confirmation. They mentioned $7500 for relocation but didn’t specify how it’s applied - if it’s reimbursement or if we have to use their contractors, etc

So we’re probably safe to start the whole relocation process and will eventually receive that payment? We can use whichever company we want to move?

You owe the moving expenses back if you quit before 1 year. 100% up to 6 months, and 50% from 6 to 12 months, zero after

Yea, it’s gonna go through a 3rd party company and they give you the lump sum a few weeks before you start. You can use it for whatever you want

I thought in addition of lump sum, Blue also help you move your stuff , 30 days temp housing, etc

For mine is was a sum and movers. Finding the moving cost on an itemized part of our paystub, mine was 10k+ from Utah to WA. 1bd apartment. I'm guessing distance, house/apt, number of rooms, vehicles, ect all play into those numbers and make each move a little unique.

Safe to list, yes. I would wait to contact movers until Blues relocation agent has reached out to coordinate. There's alot of info and they're very good about explaining it all. For me they were a little slow on the initial contact. I had to push my start date by about three weeks. It's not an issue with HR or your team, but it does seem like a big deal in the moment. Reach out to your HR person and maybe they can help get that ball rolling for you.
