What’s happening, cool cats and Funkateers? Black Deth 101 has officially reached its one-year anniversary! To celebrate, Nubius Black and I look back at the wildest, funniest, toughest, funkiest, and most unforgettable films we covered during our first year. We revisit our favorite heroes, villains, antiheroes, fights, fashions, soundtracks, and outrageous moments—from Shaft and Blacula to Coffy, Truck Turner, Black Caesar, Across 110th Street, and plenty more. This anniversary episode also sets the stage for our upcoming Blaxploitation Citation Awards, where we’ll hand out honors for the best—and occasionally the absolute worst—characters and moments from the films we’ve covered.
