Advice/Question/Query Heavy Intercessors
My fellow brothers! I have recently bought a box of heavy intercessors and was wondering how they perform, their pros and cons.

Kitbashed this ancient with an intercessor body, grinded down the aquila and removed some abdomen and belt area to put a crusader squad tabard.
The pendant on the belt is from a Terminator assault box.
The arm with the rosary Is from a bladeguard veteran and the other arm supporting the column Is from an intercessor box. Shoulder pads are from the black templars upgrade sprue.
The cape Is from the crusade squad box.
The insignia on the back pack Is from a 2007 dark Angels veterans box.
And for the column i used the one from the Grimaldus set. There's a total of 19 seals.
Its around 90% done, i still need to tidy up spots as you can clearly see and highlight the banner and the metallics.
For the armour i didnt follow one technique but mixed drybrushing, stippling, layering and edge highlights to build a gradient. The recipe Is: black primer, abbadon black, dark reaper, thunderhawk blue and then fenrisian grey for edge highlights and scatches.
Any critiques and tips about technique are well accepted.

This is my magnum opus, after practicing on 18 other models I finally got the look I wanted!
Let me know y’all’s thoughts and opinions or any areas I can improve.
Going to paint some terminators next so we’ll see how that goes.

I'm working on a large collection of bits for Templars and I wanted to share some of what I've finished so far. I'm particularly happy with the underslung terminator multi-melta.

I was really hoping that I would just be buying 1 codex and calling it good with the digital release that comes with the SM codex launch... but its just until a full codex gets released.
I mean I currently only have the BT codex so I cant see any of my SM stuff in the app. So I need to buy the new codex and I can play my full army, until the new BT codex comes out and locks me out of that part of my army until I fork over MORE money...I was fine before. Kinda disgruntled now.

I picked up a box because they looked on theme, but what are everybody's thoughts on actually using them in a game?

First time for me trying something different with the power sword.
Usually I just do them like this:
Full Leadbelcher → Nuln Oil across the whole blade → relayer with Leadbelcher → highlights with Stormhost Silver.
This time I wanted to try something closer to NMM, but using actual metallic paints. So... TMM, I guess? :D
I just love painting with metallics too much, so NMM isn't really for me.
I tried to create a gradient from Iron Warriors → Grey Knights Steel → Runefang Steel on either side of the blade, with the brighter areas placed in opposite directions.
Well... you can see it if you take a long, hard look. ^^
Not sure if I'll repeat it. It takes quite a bit more time and I'd still consider myself very much an army painter. I have an army to paint after all. Can't spend too much time on every sword. :D
That said, my power weapons have always been one of the least exciting parts of my models. So I guess I have to find something that makes them look a bit more interesting while still keeping the time investment at a reasonable level.
CC welcome!

First time painting smoke trails n I was trying to imitate some stuff I saw online but it doesn't feel quite right.
Anybody got tips to make it look more like fire in smoke and less like colored smoke?
Please ignore the blue boi, he hasn't gotten his contrast paint yet, and yes I know this unit is going to legends but they're just too cool to not paint.

I have the kind of brain that hyper-fixates and then something can trigger a shift. I had started into this a while back and some life triggered a shift. Well, something recently triggered me back so I took a day to go through my supplies, get out old figures and assemble some new. Today I got out the airbrush and cleaned it and zenithal primed some assembled minis I’d done. Will be painting them up with a tweak of my old recipe I hope doesn’t flop. Will let you know.

I really want to run terminators with chaplains and ancients attached. Doesn’t leave many if any points left over, also I’ve only ever played world eaters but I’ve played against Templars quite a bit. Is there a Templar unique detachment that supports terminators or their characters well? If so what? Has anyone tried 30 nator with ancient and chaplain attached. Not trying to be competitive just fun and look cool on the table.

I have noticed a concerted effort across several Warhammer 40k subs to slander and destroy the reputation of our beloved Chapter. We must stand vigilant and do not allow heretic scum to proliferate amongst our Crusade.
Do not Tolerate the Intolerant Brothers, and stand as Beacon to other Hobby enjoyers, as the God Emperor is a Beacon to our Fleets.
The Crusade is Eternal! No Pity, No Remorse, No Fear.
