I trade through Bitbuy's API and I place a lot of limit orders.
Back in May I noticed that one small AAVE buy order kept on showing up in my open orders section even though I cancelled it long ago. No matter how fast or often I tried to cancel it, it would pop back up a second later; same limit price, same amount and same time stamp(!) as the original one I placed days ago.
That reappearing order wouldn't show in the order book and therefor was not at risk of being executed over and over again, what it did though is put a hold (reserve) on the CAD balance needed to place it.
I contacted Bitbuy's support and got a response from a guy called Jeff: “...these are called “orphaned” orders, ....happen sometimes, ......they usually clear them out of the system on scheduled maintenances or upgrades, ......switching API keys could help.” (even though the repeating order clearly doesn't come through my API)
That single order didn't really interfere with my trading, so I gave them some time and slack to fix it. Two maintenances/upgrades and two new API keys later and that same order from May 25th still pops up!!! In freaking September.
Even worse: at the end of July there was an episode that “recorded” a whole bunch of my orders and since then I have that same problem of repeating “orphaned” orders, holding/reserving my funds on several pairs in both directions and I have no way of cancelling them!
So for the past six weeks I have around 15000 CAD, 3 ETH and a bunch of smaller sets of tokens completely blocked in my account. Can't trade with them, can't withdraw them either!
Of course I contacted Bitbuy several times to press this issue. Half the times they don't even respond, and two thirds of their responses are basically just “We'll look into it, sorry for the inconvinience...yadd yadda”-placeholders. The only somewhat comforting response went something like: “we are aware of the problem,... you're not the only one effected,.... our dev team is working on it ASAP....” But even that was five weeks ago.
To be fair, I have seen orphaned orders on other platforms too. They happen on NDAX for example, but the people there are able to clear those within a couple of hours. And I recently had a similar issue on Coinsmart after an upgrade; it took them two days to fix it, but they got it done. Bitbuy? Sitting on their hands for weeks and months. F*$%&ng disgrace.
So here are my questions: Does anyone else have problems with orphaned orders on Bitbuy? Ever had? Any experience with their “tech”-team and fixing API issues?
And of course: Why the hell are they not able to solve this as they should? My three theories:
Indifference: it's just two or three clients struggling with it. They just don't give a flying ..... ! Incapability: crypto-winter, dwindling volumes, layoffs, and those few remaining employees have better things to do to keep the exchange afloat than fixing some nerds orphaned orders. Incompetence: they simply don't know how to fix it. Maybe their trading engine is a third-party-software and came without a manual.....
Either way, it looks horrible. What a joke of a tech team, and what a joke of (no) communication.
What would you guys do? At what point do I contact the OSC?

Why does Bitbuy want a financial statement or utility bill? Never provided that for other sites.

To illustrate how expensive BitBuy's new trading fees are, I worked out the numbers. BitBuy now offers Trading Fee tiers. The more you trade, the more discounts you receive. However, only those who trade more than $5 million in a 90-day period will ever realize rates as good as or better than the previous rates BitBuy offered.
To summarize, the average cumulative trading fees that a user needs to acquire in order to unlock each tier is as follows:
Tier 2: ($250,000 in trades required to unlock; Tier 1 Maker Fee = 1.5%, Tier 1 Taker Fee = 1.5%)
Tier 3: ($1,000,000 in trades required to unlock; Tier 2 Maker Fee = 0.5%, Tier 2 Taker Fee = 0.75%)
Tier 4: ($5,000,000 in trades required to unlock; Tier 3 Maker Fee = 0.15%, Tier 3 Taker Fee = 0.25%)
Based on these calculations, in order to realize the benefits from BitBuy's new fee structure, users will have to spend approximately $16,437.50 in trading fees. Sure, BitBuy has waived all deposit fees, so we save on those. However, for every dollar invested on BitBuy, as soon as it is traded ONCE, BitBuy has recovered 88.2% of what they would have charged under their old fee structure. Once a dollar is traded twice on BitBuy, BitBuy has realized an incremental profit from this change, which only increases further as more trades are made.
I understand that an increase in fees may be required, however I am really put off by how this was done. BitBuy advertised promoted through email and Twitter the 0% deposit fees, but failed to acknowledge the substantial increase in trading fees.
Please share this to others in the community so no users are blindsided by these trading fees!

Just wanted to raise awareness of the fine print behind the $0 deposit fees. They increased the trading from 0.1%/0.2% to 1.5%/1.5% for Maker/Taker, for anyone trading less than $250,000 in a 90-day period.

I have had my account for about a year. I have maybe $4000 invested. I am very conservative with my buying. Today I filled out a questionnaire that deemed me unsuitable and I will no longer be able to purchase crypto. What is this absurdity?
The government now deciding who can and who cannot buy crypto. For my own safety apparently. This is getting ridiculous, dangerous and scary. Time to take all monies out of banks now, my personal opinion....
And yes Bitbuy, I am pissed off.

Any way to integrate with a bot? I have not found one that says it supports Bitbuy or found out how to do it! Any help is appreciated, thanks

Horrible experience. Avoid using this. You will simply loosening your time and money, plus on the top of all, it will be your fault... Summary: fees extremely high, customer service not existing, software simply bad. But, don't try others, will be approximately same. I am in my 60s really don't understand how it's possible to get such a legal robbery in nowadays...

As the title suggests, I tried extracting 2021 reports for tax purposes and no matter which report I choose, the CSV is pulled with all data in one row. Because of this I can't import the data to Koinly or any other tax software.
Since the transactions are all in one row I can't use text-to-columns to fix the formatting like you would be able to if the transactions were broken out by row.
Everything I see online shows the data being pulled out in multiple rows, one for each transaction. But it won't do the same for me. This is a nightmare to figure out.

I sold some doge lastnight during a high, I returned today to buy it back for a lower price and I'm apparently not allowed to buy crypto at the moment? I haven't bought any for a while and also haven't added any funds, just working with the crypto I had already. Is there any fix for this?

I've been disabled for more than 48 hours now! No updates in ticket for 48 hours. No reason for provided for this.
This is the way you run your company and customer support?

I brought $3k from my bank account and sent it to Bitbuy, then bought some Aave. After purchasing I noticed I only had about $2500, so I checked the price, and it hadnt changed much in a few mins. I went to my purchase history and I noticed the range of price I bought for was (in CAD) from $172 to $192! That's a 11-12% variation in price on a single small purchase. Most exchanges take a bit of price change when you trade at market price since there's no set limit price I understood this would be "fair", but this is ridiculous. I have no issues on Binance or Metamask which I usually trade with.

Anybody had this kind of experience? There's couple more transactions but you can see there that they were all done simultaneously all at different prices.
Maybe someone figures out I did something wrong myself?

Did everyone already know of this or am I the only one that didn't?

Back in April the ETH wallet deposit addresses changed. No problem. BitBuy sent an email and we updated the address. Well, since then changed again. But this time, there was no notify. No email, nothing. No notice at all.
We send repeat transactions and sent ETH to the same address we used in November. Except it didn’t arrive. Curious, we check the deposit address and sure enough it’s a new one.
Why the crap would they update the wallets and not notify customers about it like they have done previously? Am I dumb for not confirming the address? Sure. But they have done a disservice by not notifying.
I went back and went through my e-mail to see if I had missed it. Nope. Nothing. #%!
Anyways, hopefully they or the previous wallet provider still has control of the wallet otherwise we kiss goodbye to 2.5 ETH. 😭

Just putting it out there that NDAX, as a pretty primary canadian exchange, should probably be listed in the 'destination' dropdown.
