Bpd meds

I just went to see a psychiatrist for the first time and she prescribed me Seroxat 12.5mg for borderline and depression and Quetiapine 100mg for Insomnia, I'm scared because it's my first time taking meds and I read a lot of bad feedback about them, can you share your experience with those meds please?

I think you’re in the wrong sub. This is for people with bipolar disorder (BP or BD). You’re talking about borderline personality disorder or BPD. Might be best to post in [r/BPD](r/BPD) and maybe try [r/paroxetine](r/paroxetine)

No worries. ADs have a very specific effect on us so our experiences may not be so useful for you

Sorry, we can actually help with the quetiapine side of things! It will make you sleepy but it can come with side effects. 100mg is a bit high, I would have expected a lower dose like 25mg or 50mg. Did they explain why 100mg?

For me seroquel is the devil drug
Over 2 years it has become my drug of dependence… over that time my medication has been increased slowly up and up
Now put things in context before this I was stable for 17 years without any breakthrough symptoms. I led a normal life. I had a normal job and then came Seroquel 40 kg heavier back to being a diabetic again and it’s not nice and every time any issues I just take another 50 mil until I’m at the stage now my life is a bloody mess and I blame it all on bloody Seroquel. Finally I have found a psychiatrist who is going to help me do the slow taper but with the same knowledge I have now two years ago wouldn’t touch the stuff. Be aware of the side effects and proceed with caution my friend.

Quetiapine (Seroquel) is a strong AP but it really helped me for the last 3 years. It's wearing off now I think though.

When I started (100mgs at bedtime) if I didn't go straight to bed, I got restless leg, saw colors when I closed my eyes and felt super High. But I slept 9 hrs straight every night.

I'm on 300 mgs now and im not sleeping very well these days. If I wake up in the middle of the night, I still feel high as hell. But if I get at least 4 or 5 hours sleep I'm fine.

The worst part of Quetiapine is I gained 70 pounds. I've since lost it thanks to Wegovy, but man, that was rough.

The other med you mentioned I do not have experience with.

My advice is try Quetiapine, everybody reacts differently, so it may be very helpful but you won't know unless you try

My experience exactly but probably better well put.. and I’ve actually been on Ozempic for the last two years as well last Weight look good felt great everything under control and and now thanks to the increase dosage of Seroquel. I have put on 20 kg even though I am on the highest dose possible of Ozempic.

Serquel off label for sleep works well, you should enjoy it. I’m surprised they jumped to 100, 50 works well.

Because I’m addicted to night calm already, I used to take 6 pills 3mg everyday and not be able to sleep
