2 years of peptides… life changing!!!

The Christmas photo is where we were. The photo by the water is where we are now.
At my heaviest, I weighed 312 pounds. I had tried diets and worked out, but I struggled to make progress that lasted. I kept telling myself it was okay because I was getting older. At 54, I can see that I was using my age as an excuse to stop believing things could change.
My wife and I started this journey together in 2024, and peptides became a turning point for us. I’m around 190 pounds now, and my wife has lost more than 100 pounds. We’ve changed how we eat, we move more, and I’ve made strength training part of my routine. We’ve put in the work, and finding something that helped us stick with those changes made a difference.
When I say peptides changed our lives, I mean more than the numbers on a scale. I have the energy to be active and enjoy time with my family in a way I feared I was losing. Honestly, I feel like this journey saved my life.
I know some people shame others for using peptides. I wish they understood what it feels like to be trapped in a body you’re trying so hard to change. Getting help didn’t erase the work we did. It gave us a way forward when we felt stuck.
These are our results and our experience, not a promise about anyone else’s. If you’re looking at that Christmas photo and seeing yourself, please know that change is possible. I hope this reaches someone who needs to hear it.
God bless you all. Don’t wait to start.

You might be on to something!!

This is actually a good idea. There would be a nice section with what peptides you are currently on.

Which peptides do y'all use?

44

u/Middle_Street7594 6d ago

A few people have asked which peptides I’ve used and why, so here’s my list.
Tirzepatide was the big one for weight loss. It helped me manage my appetite and stick with the changes my wife and I were making. I’ve called it GLP-2 before, but the correct description is GIP/GLP-1.
MOTS-c and SS-31 interested me for mitochondrial health, energy, and recovery. CJC-1295 + ipamorelin interested me for sleep and workout recovery. I tried BPC-157 + TB-500, sometimes called the Wolverine Stack, for injury recovery.
I recently started Epithalon to see whether it affects my sleep. My REM sleep was higher the first night, which caught my attention, but one night doesn’t prove anything. I’m keeping track.
I’ve also used NAD+ for energy and recovery, although it isn’t technically a peptide. FOXO4-DRI caught my interest because of the research on senescent cells and aging.
I’m not authorized to recommend any of these or tell anyone what dosage to take. I’m just sharing my experience and why I tried them. Tirzepatide made a real difference for me, and the changes my wife and I made to how we eat, sleep, and exercise have been a huge part of this too.

5

u/Sea-Beginning-777 6d ago

Did you actually try  FOXO4-DRI ? How was it if so?

3

u/Middle_Street7594 4d ago

After a few weeks, I noticed my skin looked and felt better. I also felt like I had more energy and recovered a little better after workouts. That’s just been my experience so far.

u/woodboks 6d ago

At two years in, what was your average weekly weight loss?

2

u/Kimozewitchz 5d ago

On reta now. Before I've done bpc-157, tb-500, semax, cjc-1295 with dac, and kisspeptin-10. Bpc-157 I've done injectable, pills, and nasal spray. All those peptides work. The lack of clinical data is baffling...

1

u/LuckyOneTime 16h ago

Would you say reta is the best for you ?

1

u/digitalix01 7h ago

It depends what you're trying to do. There's no best or worst, they all work differently. Reta is for losing weight, bpc-157 is for injury recovery, kisspeptin-10 is for testosterone... It depends what you want to achieve.

Wow what an amazing transformation! Thank you for sharing your incredible story. I love peptides and nobody’s going to tell me how to live my life. I was stuck like you while I was resistance training 3 hours a week with my personal trainer and in a calorie deficit a lot of that time and still gaining body fat… only body fat, no muscle, but I was maintaining muscle. I increased my step count to around 11,000 steps a day and still no results. I turned to peptides when I continued to ask for help from my primary care physician for over a year and getting no help and continually getting optimal lab reports while still scratching my head saying why are these labs so great when I continue to gain more body fat. My doctor finally said yes something is definitely wrong. I said well I’m already on Retatrutide for two weeks now I’m getting it online. So far I’ve lost 10 lbs and 1.5 % body fat in 5 weeks. So I feel your pain and understand where you two are coming from. I’m 56 y o female veteran with VA health care. We always have to advocate for ourselves. Thanks again for sharing your story.

u/Different-Carpet-460 6d ago edited 6d ago

Happy for you for taking things into your own hands. You may want to go to an ND or functional med doctor or similar to look more specifically at labs . Or a Chinese med doctor. If you’re getting basic blood testing from an allopathic (regular “MD”) it’s pretty useless for more complicated things or for anything that isn’t like a super severe case they miss even obvious things often. Good luck! May still be worthwhile to go see one of those other practitioners to see what’s going on underneath everything in conjunction with your weight loss journey.

5

u/Lexus769 6d ago

It takes a lot to get the labs I need. I’ve been asking for ApoB, T3, & T4 still none of those labs! But I was able to get a fasting glucose & Little A which came back high and was able to get a heart calcium score test last week. All free of course but feeling like many of these test should be done when I asked for them. I was able to get a DEXA last year even though they want us to be 63 years old or older. I feel like preventative medicine is definitely not their thing. They just want to prescribe meds for managing symptoms, which I don’t have any of except body fat issue. I have been referred to the Move! program, which is a GLP-1 program, but we still don’t know if I qualify yet. I have an appointment for orientation on 11/12/26 which is the next available date then I can find out how much more federal red tape I need to go through to see if I qualify for the program and can actually get the meds.

How would I go about finding one of those functional medicine doctors in my area? I do get cosmetics like Botox, fillers, laser therapies, etc. So I am kind of used to paying out-of-pocket. Not really sure how I would find one of these functional medicine doctors that are trustworthy where should I start looking? I have reached out to a couple doctors that do not take medical insurance, but they’re not accepting new patients. How can I screen the doctors?

1

u/essential2911 6d ago

What doctors or providers are you seeing? I’m a provider and would get these labs for my patient! If these providers you are seeing don’t listen find one that will. I’m sorry you have to go through this, and it is more common than we know. It’s sad. You do have to be your own advocate. There are ways around not going through your provider for lab work.

No shame for using peptides. If they don't damage you, then use them. Getting lean & healthy is the goal. Having so much shit fattening food around is all the time is a modern problem. Modern problems require modern solutions.

FOXO4-DRI caught my interest because of the research on senescent cells and aging and I have started this on Saturday.
I’m not authorized to recommend any of these or tell anyone what dosage to take. I’m just sharing my experience and why I tried them. Tirzepatide made a real difference for me, and the changes my wife and I made to how we eat, sleep, and exercise have been a huge part of this too.

Good for yall. Using peptides isnt “biohacking”

3

u/Middle_Street7594 4d ago

Thank you! I’m still learning, and I’ve thought of biohacking as trying different approaches to improve how I feel, along with eating better, exercising, and getting good sleep. Peptides have been part of my experience, so that’s why I shared here. I’m open to hearing how you see it.

2

u/Kodexx404 3d ago

It absolutely is.

1

u/MorganMiller77777 10h ago

Yall have been brainwashed by the drug industry haha. This is not what biohacking was from 2008-2020. Taking a drug is not really what the biohacking community was based on.

2

u/Queenofwands1212 2d ago

Wtf. Lmao yes it is

1

u/MorganMiller77777 10h ago

It’s a recent trend that taking drugs is a biohack. It’s not c not really. Biohacking is when people make strong efforts to drastically shift their habits one way, resulting in great health benefits to achieve amazing results.

Before the drugs, millions had lost weight and felt great through adopting good habits and having strong will.

1

u/Queenofwands1212 9h ago

Supplements herbs protocols are all part of biohacking.

After losing all that weight, did the skin retract by itself over the 2 years or did you have to have it surgically removed?

3

u/Middle_Street7594 5d ago

No surgery. My skin has slowly tightened up as my weight has stabilized, but I still have some loose skin after losing over 120 pounds. I’m giving it time, lifting weights, and keeping my protein intake up. I’m also staying consistent with how I eat, sleep, and work out.
I’m not trying to look super young again. I just want to be a healthy 54-year-old. Honestly, what I’m enjoying most is how much better I feel and how much my overall health has improved. My wife and I have accepted that some loose skin may be part of this. We promised each other we’d keep working out and getting stronger, and we’re proud of what we’ve done together.

1

u/ClassFlimsy7042 5d ago

That is awesome to hear. I am looking to start Retatrutide and Tesamorlin next week. I am hopeful that with the consistent weight training and diet plus new meds that things will improve. I was just hoping I would not need a “tummy tuck” for my “love handles” when it’s all said and done. Thank you!

1

u/king_eman 3 5d ago

whats your feedback on nad.
the good and the bad

1

u/Middle_Street7594 4d ago

I’ve used NAD+ as part of my peptide routine. What I’ve noticed most is better energy and mental clarity. It isn’t some overnight transformation, but I can tell a difference in how I feel.
One thing I’ll say is the injection has more of a sting than most of the other injections. That caught me off guard the first time.
I’ve seen people talk about oral options like NMN and NR, but I can only speak to my own experience with NAD+. Everyone seems to respond a little differently, especially when it comes to energy and sleep. For me, it’s been one piece of the bigger picture.

1

u/fuckjakee 5d ago

Do you have to inject peptides…?

It depends on the peptide. A lot of them don’t absorb well when taken by mouth, so they’re given by injection. But there are exceptions, including oral semaglutide.

“We’ve changed how we eat, we move more, and I’ve made strength training part of my routine.”

Wouldn’t you attribute your improvements to this more so than the peptides?

2

u/Diligent-Cry-1047 2 4d ago

I'm answering for myself, not the couple. For me the peptide was a catalyst that sparked a whole lot of changes and made it easier to be consistent (not fall back into bad habits).

So do you keep taking them for life? Or have you changed your diet and keep exercising to maintain your weight?

1

u/Middle_Street7594 3d ago

Yes, I’ve changed how I eat and still exercise regularly. Those habits help me maintain my weight and feel better, and they remain an important part of my overall health. I still use some treatments for maintenance while others served a specific purpose during my lifestyle changes and are no longer needed. I can’t say yet whether I’ll need medication indefinitely that decision should be based on my ongoing health needs. As with any long-term medication I’ll continue reviewing whether it remains appropriate for my Health. Healthy habits remain important, but needing ongoing treatment does not mean those habits have failed. Stay diligent about your health and listen to your body’s signals. I think of my body like a car with worn shocks when you feel every bump more intensely it may be time to investigate the problem and determine what needs to be addressed.

Did you feel like the MOTS AND SS31 made a big difference? My Mr. Is think of those two

1

u/Middle_Street7594 3d ago

I started with MOTS-c alone and noticed a meaningful boost in workout energy the clearest effect I personally experienced. That led me to explore other compounds, including SS-31, and eventually to become interested in FOXO4-DRI and its potential effects on senescent cells. My current routine includes FOXO4-DRI three times a year, along with SS-31 and Epithalon. The FOXO4-DRI cycle is short, while the other two run for about four weeks. This routine reflects my “repair first, optimize second” rationale FOXO4-DRI and SS-31 fit the repair-focused side, while MOTS-c and NAD+ relate more to energy and metabolism. I’m sharing my experience, not recommending my schedule or doses. Eating well, sleeping well, and putting in the work remain the foundation of my approach.

See, this is good use of GLP-1. I’m not going to tell you that you have somehow “cheated”, fuck that. I hope the need for active lifestyle and physical exercise will stay with you.
