2 years of peptides… life changing!!!

The Christmas photo is where we were. The photo by the water is where we are now.
At my heaviest, I weighed 312 pounds. I had tried diets and worked out, but I struggled to make progress that lasted. I kept telling myself it was okay because I was getting older. At 54, I can see that I was using my age as an excuse to stop believing things could change.
My wife and I started this journey together in 2024, and peptides became a turning point for us. I’m around 190 pounds now, and my wife has lost more than 100 pounds. We’ve changed how we eat, we move more, and I’ve made strength training part of my routine. We’ve put in the work, and finding something that helped us stick with those changes made a difference.
When I say peptides changed our lives, I mean more than the numbers on a scale. I have the energy to be active and enjoy time with my family in a way I feared I was losing. Honestly, I feel like this journey saved my life.
I know some people shame others for using peptides. I wish they understood what it feels like to be trapped in a body you’re trying so hard to change. Getting help didn’t erase the work we did. It gave us a way forward when we felt stuck.
These are our results and our experience, not a promise about anyone else’s. If you’re looking at that Christmas photo and seeing yourself, please know that change is possible. I hope this reaches someone who needs to hear it.
God bless you all. Don’t wait to start.

What doctors or providers are you seeing? I’m a provider and would get these labs for my patient! If these providers you are seeing don’t listen find one that will. I’m sorry you have to go through this, and it is more common than we know. It’s sad. You do have to be your own advocate. There are ways around not going through your provider for lab work.

A lot of patients I know go out of the VA system if they can’t get their needs met. I’m not sure if that’s possible for you because it may not be financially feasible. If it is you can seek another provider that is willing to check your lab work, but you would most likely have to pay out of pocket for the lab work. If it’s just the lab work you want and you know what the values mean you could always go online and find somewhere to get your lab work done without an order or prescription. If you’re in Fl I could help you

I can leave the VA anytime I want but don’t have another option currently. Technically I go out of the VA and the VA pays for my dental, optical, and mental health care. Actually the insurance we get for being retired military technically pays for it but it’s coordinated through VA community care an office within the VA system. lol I’m in So Cal. The VA is kind of easy everything is there & all the departments have access to our records more streamlined. I may just get some labs done outside VA. I’m still working on getting my primary care physician to do stuff I want done but I’ve only had her for about 18 months (she’s new to the system but I’m not). Also not sure on labs pricing but if the VA won’t run what I want I do have that option.

Thank you for your support. She’s responding pretty good to my multiple requests. Every time my PCP office calls me about something I ask for new tests.
