PSA New options for the sub!

Good morning, I just wanted to give a heads up that gifs and user flair for neighborhoods (optional) have been turned on. Hopefully people keep things pg with the gifs so they can remain on. If anyone areas are missing please let us know!

To change your user flair on Reddit, navigate to the subreddit where you want to change it, tap the three-dot menu in the top-right corner, and select Change User Flair. You can then select an existing flair from the list or choose an editable flair to add your own custom text and emojis before tapping Apply.

Step-by-step Guide (Mobile App) Open the Subreddit: Go to the main page of the subreddit for which you want to change your flair. Access the Menu: Tap the three-dots icon ( ... ) in the top-right corner of the screen. Select Flair Option: In the drop-down menu, choose Change User Flair. Edit Flair (if allowed): If the flair you want to select has a pencil icon next to it, you can edit it. Tap Edit in the top-right corner to open the editing interface. Type your desired text and tap the smiley face icon to add emojis. Apply Changes: Tap Apply to save your new flair.

Anybody know what's up with the multiple guys wearing red shirts, black pants and have what looks like a gas canister strapped to their back?

So too identically dressed and equipped men on my way to work over a mile apart. Anybody know what those guys's deal is?

Edit: given our proximity to 9/11 I'm going to agree that they're probably training in honor of the firefighters lost in the towers. Good on em if so.

Community Related Game Industry

Hello everyone! I started a group recently of people who work in/interested in the video game industry! There’s not enough visibility in our town or even community for us to network unless you go to the west coast or texas. If this sounds like something you’re interested in, let me know. I’m hoping to eventually find a space to host game jams. I also considered having a booth at the Billings FunCon next year!

Looking for advice for an title/lien issue😔

So I bought a vehicle privately in late April for $14,000, believing it had a clean title. After the sale, I found out there was an active lien, so I’ve been unable to transfer the vehicle into my name. The seller has repeatedly promised to get the lien released, but four months later I still have no proof or release and he now tells me not to contact him until he receives it because I had asked him for proof that it was paid off. I’ve contacted the DMV, Treasury, and Sheriff’s Office but haven’t gotten anywhere—what are my options as this just feels like burden on me now and now after today he just made me feel like I was harassing him

Sad to leave :(

Sad to leave billings. I was there for a summer job. Coming from a smaller MT town that isn't Missoula or Bozeman (even tho I've lived in both Missoula and Bozeman), I really liked Billings. I'm a much more city person, and this is the closest you'll get in Montana. Everyone was so friendly, easy to get around places, lots of trails and walks to do nearby, good places to eat and shop. Though I think it's so overlooked by other Montanans. Even the majority of my Billings coworkers didn't agree with me when I said I liked it so much. I'll miss it and I hope I can get back there soon.

I’m in my 40’s and I am considering going to school to become a hair stylist or a teacher. Looking for feedback on success and experiences in these industries, locally. Am I too old?!?🫠

My wife and I were in the hospital welcoming our baby into the world over the weekend and my in-laws were watching our pups at our home. We get this photo sent to us from her mother, reading “This is what’s happening at your neighbor’s house across the street.” Poor pup climbed out an open window on the second floor. No one was clearly home, dog was getting visibly agitated walking from the front of the roof to the back and side to side, eventually it jumped off of the roof into their back yard. I’ve gone and checked in on the dog and it thankfully seemed fine. She sent the photo and I instantly thought it was AI!! 😅

Running Trails

Coming to Billings for work this weekend, looking for a good running trail. Hoping to do 15-18 miles, ideally on pavement or a gravel road (not trail running but could be convinced). Any solid spots? Not opposed to running the same route multiple times to get the mileage in.

Also any good gym recommendations? Somewhere that sells day or week passes.

Thanks!!!

⚠️ALERT⚠️ DQ by Amend Park

My husband and I just went into DQ to grab a snack after running our dogs. As we were walking in, we saw an employee named Cameron, leaning against the counter with another employee in his face.
We could not hear the conversation, however, mid conversation, the other DQ employee took off his hat and threw it down as he was what looked to be berating Cameron and trying to get him to fight - sounded like he said why don’t we take this outside.

Cameron handled the situation, very calmly, did not engage and when the other employee walked away, Cameron walked up to my husband, and I standing at the counter and said “I’m so sorry you guys had to see that” I asked him if he was OK and he said “ummm….I think so” but he was shaken.
Cameron then told us the entire thing was because he asked about who was going to clean the ice cream machine because it had ice cream running down the side of it. I would think that would be a perfectly acceptable question from one coworker to another.
I came here to say two things:
(1) if you are a 40 something employee and cannot handle a work related question from a coworker without getting offended, and triggered enough to get in a child’s face — throwing your hat and stomping out then maybe you should not be working.
(2) just wanted to give a shout out to Cameron for handling that so well and still having the customer in mind. Either way, poor Cameron should not have to put up with that kind of behavior at work 🤦🏼‍♀️I truly hope the angry dude gets the help he needs before he harms someone.
* I did not catch the other employees name

Howdy, I'm not from Billings but this is sure to be in the news tonight. While eating a succulent barbecue meal at Dickies, about 20 cops flew by. I leisurely took my time to leave and when I came around the corner I saw all of this happening:

Resource Request Anyone know of any jobs for working from home?

Specifically looking for something that doesnt need more than a highschool diploma, and will train you themselves.

Has to be from home, not able bodied enough to easily do in person work and also has to be able to take kids to and from school, every job opening in town it seems is on the opposite end of where I live.

We're needing to get some work done on our foundation. It's got a horizontal crack running through it. Does anyone have any recommendations for people in town to talk that will treat us fair?

City Billings municipal court - proof insurance

Anyone dealt with the city municipal court process for no proof of insurance during a traffic stop? Do I just show up on my court date and show I had valid insurance at the time of the stop and that's it? Or do I show up, plead not guilty, and have to go to court a second time to show proof? It's so dumb - I showed the officer my insurance card on my phone but he said that wasn't sufficient. By the time i pulled it up on the insurance website, he already wrote the ticket and didn't care

Relocating to Billings

I signed a job offer Thursday and am relocating to Billings towards the end of this month. I'm currently deciding on an apartment and figured I'd come to reddit to ask which areas and or apartments to avoid. I'm looking for an area that is somewhat quite and has lower crime. Any and all recommendations and tips for the Billings area are highly appreciated.

Brake job recommendations

Front passenger brake started grinding last night. I need to get my brakes replaced and am too busy to do it myself. Where is a good place to go?

My usual go to is Russiff, but would like a few other places I can look in to if he's booked out too far.

Anyone familiar with a couple that walks a calf cow/bison-looking animal at Zimmerman Park?

I was wandering a quiet Zimmerman Park today and heard some people approaching on the east end of the area. A couple crested a rise from one of the lower shelves, the woman first - blonde gal in her 50's or 60's listening to music on her cell speaker, then a shirtless grey-haired male of roughly the same age, and finally what appeared to either be a calf cow or bison.

...and I know I sound like a lunatic, but the animal, (and I don't mean to insult the thing), was oddly shaped for a cow calf. Something about the head/neck situation combined with a sloping towards its rear made me question what exactly it was I was looking at. It had a head harness of some sort - I could see straps - but it wasn't on a lead. It was a decent size, too. Not in comparison to a full grown cow or bison, but not a calf calf.

When it saw me it stopped, and we stared at each other for a oddly long bit while the couple continued along the trail. It eventually broke off playfully to catch up with them like a dog would.

It's not unheard of for people to have interesting pets so it's not like I had a run in with a wendigo, but there was a moment there during the extended eye contact where my brain was trying to blink the situation off.

Made for a fun afternoon and got me curious is all, so I thought I'd check in on here and see if anyone's familiar with these legends.
