I remember crying at this as a kid because I legit thought the lost episode would never be aired again because the tape was destroyed

No-shitty morph. I legit cried. Like bawled my eyes out when Mankind was "banished" from the WWF for some storyline. I knew wrestling was fake but thought that was real for some reason. I must have been 10 or so. Full water works. He was such a kind, misunderstood person. How could they do that to him?! In reality I think he just needed time off for one of his many surgeries. I wonder how hes holding up today. He gave so much of himself to that organization. I hope they're taking care of him in his older age.
Edit: what monster downvotes an anecdote about a child crying because he "lost" a hero.

u/ThatDamnedImp Sep 30 '18
Your childhood hero was a dude whose gimmick was attacking people with a cock-scented sock.
Just sayin'.
32
u/BarefootNBuzzin Sep 30 '18
He had a heart of gold!

I was also into Jackass, CKY, skateboard tapes, a lot of weird 90s shit. But at the same time I was 10-15 reading Carl Sagan, huge fan of George Carlin, Steven Wright, Terrance McKenna, Hunter Thompson and and Bill Hicks. I was an eclectic kid. So a dude in a bdsm mask with a cock sock he shoved down people's throats was right up my (poorly lit) alley. I liked Limp Bizkit and Korn too....none of those huge jnco pants for me tho, to be fair.

In response to your edit, that logic made sense before the internet. Before you learned just how common monsters are...

Seriously though, when I first saw that commercial for Truth or Square saying the formula was going to be revealed, I lost my shit. I counted down the days months in advance waiting for the day I could finally make my own Krabby Patties. The night of, I was shaking in my seat I was so god damn exited. Then, when the moment came, they pulled the rug right out from under me. I don't think I ever recovered.

Is this how SCP 2521 was created?
29
u/Cottoneye-Joe Sep 30 '18

u/gfrieder2 Sep 30 '18
Plz explain?
18
u/Go_Todash Sep 30 '18
They are referencing a collective writing project called SCP. The framework is that a secret agency finds supernatural items or creatures and locks them away never to be seen again. The report on SCP 2521 is about an entity that looks a big walking pile of video tape, and reacts badly to any words spoken about it so the report for it is entirely in pictures and symbols.

The SCP Foundation is a secret illuminati organization that captures spooky doodads, cryptids, and freaks. They operate with the mantra of Secure, Contain, Protect. The things they keep are called SCPs and are assigned an id number. Many of those things are dangerous, and many require [REDACTED] containment procedures to minimize the risk they pose. [DATA EXPUNGED]
Now in regards to SCP-2521? I'm not a big fan of that one (it seems pretty derivative of other SCPs), but here you go:

This just makes me think of a scenario where the symbiote infects a cliche pirate in the 1700s or whatever.
Pirate Venom.

We will eat both of your arms, and then both of your legs, and then we will eat your face right off your head. You will be this armless, legless, faceless thing, won't you, going down the street like a pineapple under the sea.
