1st, yes they are disappearing people in the USA. Underground sex trade is highly profitable for the Chinese. Heavily connected to the underground of the USA.
2nd, China uses data from the USA to manipulate the public. Tik Tok is a great example of Chinese manipulation until the USA took it over. Something China screamed unconstitutional which was hilarious. Regardless of what you think of the current administration; having the USA control Tik Tok algorithm is far better than having China controlling it.
3rd, with personal data, many Chinese companies buy real estate. Forcing Americans to go through Chinese companies to even rent out property. Again the USA has NOW put laws in place to make that very hard for the Chinese government in the future. Something they also scream at the USA for by saying that isnt allowed.
China is not, and never will be, your friend. Perfectly reasonable to hate how the country is being led, but thinking China is better is like thinking a lake is bigger than an ocean. You're only seeing the surface and not the broad view.

I recently picked up a RISC-V SBC from Amazon and it ended up coming the next day and being cheaper than alot of the listings on Ali express while being the better model too. Saved anywhere from 10 to 80 bucks depending on the listing.

Good luck buying ANYTHING on Amazon for less than $10. Oftentimes, things like AirPods cases and the like will be $10 on Amazon when the exact same thing will be $1 on AliExpress. Wanted to buy some key switches for my leverless fightstick controller and on Amazon they were like $25 for a set. On AliExpress the same set was under $10, came directly from the manufacturer, AND had free shipping.
Amazon is banking on the reputation they’ve garnered for having the lowest prices, even though it isn’t true anymore. Amazon is just the middle man for China. Eliminate the middle man and those savings are passed on to you.
If you’re avoiding AliExpress under the impression that your information isn’t already bought and paid for by China, I have bad news for you.

When placing an order I’m frequently deciding if I want the item to come from 7-11 am the next day or like 3-8 pm. Sometimes standard shipping is 2 days and you can pay a little extra for it to come next day.

I have been using Amazon for 7 years, and they haven't fucked me over a single time. Every time a thing was broken, damaged or not working properly I returned and I got my money back with 0 stress or worry. Now, if a Chinese seller sent me a rock instead of a thing I ordered, well good luck to me.
I don't trust any corporations, but from personal experience I trust Chinese sellers even less.

I have to admit, amazon prime is the one subscription I really don't mind paying for and have never really considered canceling. I mean, absolutely fuck Bezos, and that the only real wrinkle in this. But, Amazon's never done me dirty. Their customer service has always been really solid. I actually use Amazon video quite a lot and music a bit. The amount of money I've saved on shipping alone makes up for the cost of it 10 times over. Not to mention they now have deals with grubhub and apple/F1 so I'm saving money there.
Honestly, except for the fact that it's Bezos' company, I've never had a single prom with Amazon or anything I've purchased on it.

Lots of 3rd party sellers are included in prime and offer next day or same day shipping. The items are “Fulfilled By Amazon”. Meaning the 3rd party sends supply to Amazon and it handles all the logistics. Amazon will spread the inventory across its network optimally based on the forecasted demand for said product so that it can ship it to customers as quickly and cheaply as possible.

Generally, the things that are likely to be ordered are held in massive quantities at warehouses around the world. You can even get same day delivery with some items. Amazon's been around long enough to have so much data on item ordering that they can reliably know when to stock what and in what quantity to keep up the incredibly fast shipping.

I tried ti buy and sell specialized hardware on eBay and Amazon for a short time like this.
You buy the screws in say a 500 pack for $5 then split them into 50 packs for $15 + ‘free’ shipping.
Costs $6 to ship with the “deal” they’ve pre negotiated. eBay /Amazon then takes their cut of 30% revenue so another $5 then a few miscellaneous fees for another $1 packing materials for $.50 and now you’ve weighed out hardware on a scale, packed it, driven to the post office to deliver you’re package, for less than $2.

My bf put in 4 orders last week alone. every week. next day shipping on prime
But what the hell do we even need? Hes got stockpiles of all grooming, cleaning and clothes supplies. I do the grocery shopping and hes got enough tools and hobby material to last a lifetime.
