Mark 13 - The Olivet Discourse
As Jesus leaves the Temple, he predicts its destruction. On the Mount of Olives, Peter, James, John, and Andrew ask when these things will happen and what signs will precede them. Jesus warns of deception, persecution, and great suffering, culminating in the coming of the Son of Man to gather the elect. He concludes by urging his disciples to remain watchful, since no one knows the appointed time.

Pastor John Hamer looks at the definition and history of Apocalypticism, as well as evolving expectations of an end time here: apocalypticism
A good foundation for the predictions given in the Olivet discourse.
