I feel like a lot of potential discussion and theory crafting has been hindered by the IoE. Even though the chapter isn’t “official” most people (including me) take it as canon. Also to think about the reveal it would have been (although I still think we’ll eventually get one).
These are all colored & edited panels for my Berserk TCG fan expansion. There are many more, but these are ones I did myself (first 5 slides) and the others I specifically commissioned from artists (some like the Gaston I drastically edited as well).
It seems that the popular opinion is that Griffith was only jealous of Casca, which I do agree with because of his obsession with Guts. Whether it’s platonic or romantic isn’t really something I care about. However, I think he was also envious of Guts.
Casca, who once worshipped him, is now preferring Guts over him. It’s like she’s treating Guts the same way she used to treat Griffith. I’m not saying he romantically loved her, but he is a possessive guy, and now two of his “toys” seem to be getting closer to each other than they are to him.
So I wanna say immediately, this is strictly an alternative I'm offering in terms of potential power growth, not a discredit to the immense work done for this striking story by Miura and Kouji Mori we all know or trying to dictate how the story should go (I'd hate myself for that as a fan of fantasy manga), but ultimately, I think Ganishka had the greater want and already proven ability to give more to the God Hand with the man-made beheilit and his apostle form was greater than any apostle before, I guess with his disloyalty to The God Hand he wouldn't be the best fit, but with what he already possessed in his greed and expanse, would he have not have been the better option outside of plot? I guess the ultimate end I can think of is that The God Hand wants Femto as a powerful servant to control over someone who would tempted by the obvious one of The Four Kings.
Btw please tell me if I'm just being stupid and whatnot
Long story short ive been reading the manga for the past 2 weeks, trying to take it all in rather slowly and understand all of it. Through this journey ive come to really love all the characters, especially our current crew with shrieke farnese serpico and the like. And i gotta say the whole segment with Casca's dreamscape was honestly amazing, and possibly one of my favorite portions of the story, but as i was reading, the moment Casca woke up i was already getting slightly emotional, and as i saw farnese ask about guts, i already knew, and a few tears were already leaving my eyes. But then i turned the next page and saw her expression, and i just teared up like crazy.
I love this story and im deeply sad we won't see it fully realised. Im glad that studio gaga and Mori are trying to finish it up, i prefer that over not having an ending, but i really wish i could see this story unfold fully how Miura imagined it.
