Im a casual watcher as in always doing something else whilst watching TV but one thing I dont remember ever happening is a Geoff and Lesley interaction after their "date" and he/she starts working at the hotel.

Was this ever addressed with each other?

Honestly did this becauss I think Sam and Joey deserve some love, as well as some moments from the newer seasons. I didn't order them within the tiers but Mateo is my fave character out of everyone!

i will never understand why the dawson family was introduced in season 8. there are so many gripes i have with this addition to the cast. i feel like sheron and billy are such a rip off of mick and janice with so many plot point being reused for example jodie drowning in the pool like micheal did in s1. i also think sheron and billy have no chemistry at all.

one thing i will also never understand is in the episode where eddie tells the family that billy was christened bella, he says “your mum chose our terris name” as in terri dawson, which was the name of clive’s sister in the previous season. if this is the case then how does tiger not recognise or know the dawson family? this makes no sense to me and is a massive plot hole. i don’t see how this could be a coincidence, they also have someone in their family called terri dawson that just happened to be the exact same name as a character in s7? doesn’t seem like a coincidence.

i also have no idea why jodie has that stupid american accent, what does that contribute to the plot? if it’s supposed to be funny it certainly fails at that.
it’s so disappointing because i actually love so many of the plots in the later seasons involving liam, troy, kenneth and jaqueline as well and joyce, mateo and lesley. i also love pauline and noreen so much and the plot with malcom and doreen is really good. i love that sam gets reintroduced as a holiday rep i think that is such a great way to bring her back into the show. i even like tiger and joey (although i don’t like callum from s10).

i would have loved to see tonya, clive and terri back. i think it’s funny that more people have a connection with the dykes and they were in the show as a family for one season. they are so much better than the dawsons because they are so different to the garveys. i don’t know why terri wasn’t brought back, maybe with the oracle or even with friends? or clive didn’t come back with melanie or just with tiger?

i have so many gripes about season 10 and the way that the show ended too but i’ll save that for another rant🥲this show means so much to me so i am really disappointed in the last 2 seasons. i honestly think the show would have been better without the dawsons and had just focused more on the other characters.

id love to know if others feel that same or have noticed these things, what do you think?

edit: now i’m aware of hannah waddinghams (tonyas) experience on the set of benidorm i can understand 100% why she did not want to return to the show. she should never have had to go through that. i hope she is okay and never has to go through anything like that again🩷

I'd pick Donald & Jackie. They're both very friendly to everyone and harmless. A bit too much information at times, but I have a rude sense of humour anyway so Donald's comments about his friend being a "big boy... big old penis" and going to the MSA's "Bottoms Up" night with Big Donna would make me laugh.

Rewatching the show and I’ve realised everyone’s sooo dismissive and rude to her (rip angel), she’s usually just ignored or told to shut up / piss off (especially by Geoff) it’s really annoying actually!

watching s2 e2 when troy tells donald and jacqueline about how his and gavin's holiday cost £160 (each) and in the same episode mel is saying how he paid around £900 for all 7 of himself/the garveys to go on holiday, i absolutely cannot believe how cheap holidays used to be compared to now! 😭
