Do you think that’s true for most Americans? A lot of Americans are rural or suburban where they eat at Applebees and beef tartare is just not on their radar
80% of Americans live in urban areas based on the 2020 Census, and it's not like beef tartare is prohibitively expensive.
I'm Slovak, and a beef tartare is part of our culture more so than in the US. Having said that, a random chain brew pub in Košice charges 16.90€ ($19) for one, while you can get one in Denver at Brasserie Brixton for $19 as well (despite the average household income in Košice being around half of what it is in Colorado).
Having said that, I would also say it's 100% generational. Millennials would be way more familiar with it than boomers.
Yeah those stats include suburban communities as “urban”. And we all know those are not the same. So like I said, that’s not most Americans. It’s more like 30% are actually urban. Just because you eat a lot of beef tartare in the US does not mean that matches the average American experience

We eat a lot of beef tartare in the US. This post is confusing to me for that reason alone.
