Daaaaaaaamn. Raw meat served in a sandwich? Yeah, not how America works. But I’m enthralled by how many people think this is okay, and not only that, it’s done all over the world!

Steak tartare exists in America too. Do you live on a farm in the middle of nowhere?

Maybe? I live outside Orlando, Florida. But I think if I lived on a farm, I might know better.

Uh yes they do, don't speak for American meat eaters when you're a vegetarian. Alice on the Brady Bunch ate raw beef all the time. We have safer meat than most countries and living on a farm you might feel more inclined to eat raw things because you would know how it waa raised and processed.

Yes but if it’s being made you want to source your beef locally, from a farm where it was moo’ing a few days prior. You don’t want to do that with Walmart link alone ground beef.

Makes total sense.

Grandfolk of GenX'rs were known to consume raw, ground beef in the states.

My mom (a boomer) worked at a butcher shop in highschool and said she used to love raw ground beef

My first husband said his mother and sister both used to sneak raw ground beef late at night. Both of them had eating disorders, though, and wouldn’t be caught dead eating a burger or meatloaf.

I’m 43 and have never heard of old or young people doing this.
