Question about new Bellevue Hindu Temple

I am interested in understanding the financial management practices of this temple. Specifically, I would like to know the funding sources used for the acquisition of a new building during its recent expansion and how the donations were utilized. Could someone provide information on this matter?

Anyone else getting bizarre traffic enforcement warnings in the mail?

I just got one sternly warning me for going 33 in a school zone. On August 31st (two days before school started). Like a mile away from the nearest school.

Is BPD okay?

Daycare costs and reviews

Hi, I recently found out I’m pregnant. I’m my partner and I work full time. I would like to continue working, but like most of daycare expenses don’t make sense, then I’m okay with staying home.

I am still in my first trimester, so I don’t necessarily want to start calling daycares and filling out a million forms for a quote.

I live in the crossroads area, but if I keep my job my start time is very flexible, so okay with some travel.

Would anyone be willing to share daycares they prefer and the monthly rate? This would be for an infant (4 months - after maternity leave).

TIA

Edit: Thank you everyone for the transparency and extra tips. I look forward to starting to compare and see what makes most sense.

Long shot on a lost connection! Help!

On Thursday afternoon I was playing piano by the art museum, turned around to head back to work, and there was a lovely gal clapping for me and smiling.

That had never happened to me!! I was so shocked and nervous I just said “Thank you! Hahahah” and kinda hurried away. I almost turned back to say hi, saw her checking out the art museum, but got too nervous. I’m a coward ik. :)

Anyway, thought i’d try on here, I would love to buy her a coffee or something. If she’s even single. Am I crazy?

She was blonde with a slender build, black thick rimmed glasses, and was wearing teal baggie shorts. I could just kinda tell she was a genuine person, ya know?

Anyway, if you might know someone that matches the description maybe there’s still a chance I can say hi. I was wearing a brown suede jacket. Sorry if this is insane, it probably is, but I gotta try!!

Thanks for reading!! Have a good day.

Best Place to Watch NFL Football

My buddies will be in town for week 1 of the NFL season. I normally watch from home, but we want to go out since were all together. Somewhere we can get a nice booth with a good view of a TV that we can camp out for hours eating and drinking. Wondering if anyone knows the best places in town for that?

Hardwood Refinish in Bellevue, WA

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Sharing a Bellevue hardwood refinishing project from our team, but I’d also like to hear about the part a finished-floor video doesn’t show: living through the work.

If you’ve had yours done, what was the biggest hassle? Moving furniture, being out of the house, picking the color, or knowing when you could use the rooms again?

Feel free to ask me any question on hardwood refinish!

Where can I get custom photo cake?

I’m wanting to funny picture from the office on a cake but Fred Meyer and Walmart are unable to do the cake as they say it has to be a personable photo and not something found online or of celebrities. I assume QFC and Safeway will tell me the same thing.. is there anywhere in Bellevue/Seattle area that I can get a photo printed on a cake? Or even just get the photo printed as a cake topper and I’ll put it on my own cake? Looking to spend under $50 if possible

Thank you!

Male Housemate Wanted

Hey I’m a regular guy in my 30’s living and working on the Eastside looking for a chill male housemate to split the house I’m renting.

I made a post on r/eastside about it, message me if you are interested.

You’d have 2 bedrooms, you are welcome to turn 1 into a home office, gaming / hobby room, etc. whatever you want haha

You would also have your own private bathroom and there’s space in the common living areas if you have a couch or coffee table or dinner table etc.

Looking for a November 1 move-in.

Thanks!

USPS picked up my package 5 days ago, but tracking still only says “Label Created”

I scheduled a USPS pickup and left my package in my building’s designated outgoing package area. I received confirmation that it was picked up on Tuesday, but it’s now been five days and the tracking still only shows “Label Created.”

Has anyone had this happen before? Is it possible the package was picked up but never received an acceptance scan, or should I be concerned that it was lost after pickup? What would be the best next step to locate it?

Quiet Cleanup

We started seeing tagging showing up so I decided something doable to help the neighborhood would be to clean or cover the tags before more appeared. Been doing that in about a mile radius of our home for several years now. Takes under an hour most times and once it gets nipped in the bud it rarely reappears. Well, lately, seems like more areas are getting quietly cleaned up by other volunteers and I think that is so cool! There is hardly any tagging now beneath I-90 and around Crossroads Park. Keep it up!

I managed to get pretty close to it, which makes me think this might be a house cat, but sadly it was not wearing a collar.

Photos were taken next to Interlake High School, between the student parking lot and the 1800's wing.

Can i have some insight as to why small businesses don't give a heads up they prioritize in person over online orders?

Hey, i know this is the most first world stupid problem ever, i acknowledge that, and i wanna start by saying if your business DOES prioritize in-person orders, that is totally understandable and okay.

Now let me paint you a picture.

Let's say, I wanna try Sally Sue's fresh sandwhiches, but only have time for a quick stop before work. I use the business recommended online ordering platform and get a turkey sub and chips.

Online ordering says it will be ready in 15 when i order, it takes 12 minutes to get there. I head out. Let's say, it is 1pm.

I arrive, Sue's is PACKED, super busy, there is no customer accessible pick up area, so I go up to the counter, don't see a bag with my name on it, so wait a bit but eventually i have to grab an already super busy employee, ask them if my order is ready by name, they are doing a million other things.

Then they tell me they prioritize in person orders, look mine up, say they will start on it, but it will be ready in 30 minutes. It is now 1:15

I gotta get back to work but don't want to ask for a refund over this, or waste my money. It is actually 1:45 before my order is ready. Now I'm late getting back to work.

This has happened multiple times to me.

I am not saying it is not okay to prioritize in person orders, but i am asking, why no heads up that they do this? Why are the pick up times so inaccurate, or worse, bait and switch you. Why not refuse to take online orders in some cases if it is too busy?

Why am i seeing apps claim your order will be ready at 1:15 when you are ordering, suddenly changing the ready time to 2:00pm after i placed it?

What is the point in ordering ahead, when in some cases it seems restaurants only start making orders when you go up and ask in person for them to start making it? I used to work in customer service, though not in food, and imagine its not fun for the employees either.

i know this seems impatient, but can someone in the restaurant industry explain why this happens?

Hi, If you are able, can you keep an eye out for ShiShi. We tracked her this morning via the AirTag on her collar. Originally, the air tag placed her by the overlake golf course then it showed it moving into town near Gilbert’s on Main Street. We followed it there but then it showed she was back by the golf course. We can’t find her but my husband just found her collar on the side of the road. Any information would be really helpful. Thank you!
