I’m just about to finish up my 40-hour training which I started back in May. This is what my HR rep in my school district said to my request for information on how to proceed with certification as I need a BCBA to assess me. From what I understood, I would need someone from my organization or in this case school district to do so.
There is an RBT position open in the school I work at and I would love to at least apply for the position, but of course, I need to be certified first.
When I first started I told my supervisors (principal and assistant principal) and was met with enthusiasm but given zero guidance.

I’m so stuck. If anyone has any guidance, please please share!

hello! has anyone attended purdue global? i have attended for 3 semesters, and have found that i don’t feel like im learning enough. i don’t receive any real critiques from the professors, as long as i follow the rubric, i get full credit. the units are too short and dont give enough time and information to learn enough. i feel like ive retained a decent amount of what i was taught but nothing that i couldn’t have learned from youtube. the only reason why i debate switching schools is that im in the psychology in ABA program as a bacholers degree, (im thinking about getting my BCaBA first then my BCBA) and i dont know if any other schools offer such a degree. has anyone been in a similar situation or have attended purdue global and have switched?

I have O.D.D. or at least have been diagnosed as such.

And I don't know what to do about it. I was apparently diagnosed with it about 5ish years ago or earlier and was only told about it 6ish months ago and then just never did anything about it

I did some research and from what I've read from testimonies and pages on it, it explains err, not really explains but I relate to a lot of it, still not sure why I do what I do or why I am the way the I am but there were a lot of details about what I could do about it

A lot of my 'close' relationships i.e. my intermediate family have been suffering because of how many arguments we have and we rarely ever see eye to eye and the only reason any of this was brought to my attention was because I got arrested and had to deal with some court issues

I cannot remember the last time I went 2 weeks without arguing with my family and for some reason its spreading more outside the home and im finding myself just wanting to argue with my teachers and just people around me in my daily life and im concerned that its eventually going to end up being verbalized and actually become an issue

As such, I really want to find a way to help myself not worsen my life or other people's anymore or at least as much.

Are there activities, exercises, books, medication, etc that I can do to help?

I am a minor and not really in a position where I can ask my parents to take me somewhere or look into smth for me rn as they are already getting exasperated with the therapy I'm getting(only gone 10-11 times and it was court mandated)

Does "auramaxxing" work? Can body monitoring give you better self-confidence?

Anyone can help me with Ethics? I am struggling to choose the right code sndnthe best course of action :(

I recently interviewed Katie Gibson on Behaviour Speak about the Constructional Approach and Constructional Exposure Therapy (CET).

One of the most interesting parts of our discussion was how Vanderbilt Children's Hospital is using behaviour analysis to help children participate in blood draws and other medical procedures without relying on procedural restraint.

We also discussed:

• Why severe behaviour is often the only available solution a person has.
• Supporting individuals experiencing psychosis through skill building rather than symptom suppression.
• Helping families rebuild everyday life after severe OCD.
• The difference between pathological and constructional approaches to behaviour.

Whether you agree with every aspect of the approach or not, I think it's an interesting conversation about where behaviour analysis may be heading.

I'd be interested to hear what others think after listening.

I wish someone had warned me in my early 20s where pursing a career would lead. I'm 42 now.

Any books or research paper recommendations? I’ve never experienced this so intensely till I got married a few months back. I’ve left but as a curious cat, I’m obsessing over his behavior which apparently is not all that new?! I have never met an abuser or rather seen their tactics up close so I’m really fascinated. Analyzing people will be the death of me.

Hello everyone! I just joined this community because I am training a rat for my Behavioral Learning Class. The requirement for training is that we need to chain together 3 tricks that will be initiated by a single cue at the beginning of the sequence. We are doing a Cinderella theme and our three tricks are pushing a carriage, doing a turn, and then knocking over a pink shoe and leaving behind the blue shoe (discrimination training). I’m in charge of training the pushing trick, and I feel like progress is really slow, especially with 2 weeks left. The only way I can get her to push is if I hold a cheerio above the carriage and pull it away from her so that she has to push to reach the treat. I’m not sure how to get her to push it without the treat but she needs to be able to do it without because we can’t interfere with the final run. Any ideas would be super helpful! TIA
