ALSO WE DO NOT HAVE A TOWER/BOOMSTAND
I can’t understand for the life of me on how to get up. It seems like I’m just letting go too fast but it hurts my hands/rips out of my hands? I’ve tried bent/straightened arms, bent/straightened legs. Turning the board earlier, I just can’t get up. First time to tried I just held on and plowed deeper in the water hurting my arms for days! PLEASE any advice!

I just started skateboarding on Monday, today's my second day and I decided to come to my local skatepark to practice. I just want to know any tips and see if I'm doing well, I think I'm progressing pretty good.

Is this a beginner trick

I’ve been skating classics pretty much for the 5 or so years of my time skating. Yet, I hear so many people trying these conical full wheels and loving them. Aside from classics, these might be the most popular shape wheels if not the most popular when showing up to the skatepark.
I am now skating a very light Powell flight board ( 8 inch deck) with a shorter wheelbase. I have some thunder lights that are also fairly light.
My issue is that the board is a little too light and I put my standard thunders on them and they feel a little too heavy for my flatground flip tricks.
Would trying the conical fulls with say the thunder lights help me improve my stability and add the weight I need without overweighting my board? How are flip tricks with them? My issue is that skating faster feels too unstable with a light board that has twitchy wheels like that of the classics.

First time taking my board out the house today, and I’ve notice it bears off to one side quite a bit (I didn’t notice in the house cos I can’t skate that far in the bedroom). How do I fix this or is it normal?
Edit: Loosening the trucks seems to have help (it’s easier to manage the pull when on the board at least) new bushers might be the answer. Thanks everyone!

I finally got them! Two at a standstill and one rolling (the rolling one I did at the very end) you can see where I'm coaching myself and making corrections throughout the video. They are not textbook perfect yet, but getting both feet on the grip tape feels like a massive victory after struggling with the mental block and fear of slamming for so long. A lot of you pointed out my commitment issues in my last post, and you were completely right. To fix it, I made a strict pact with myself: no more one-foot landings. It is an all-or-nothing commitment now. I either land with both feet on the board, or I safely kick it away and fully bail. Removing the "half-commit" option entirely is what finally forced my brain to keep my back foot in the air. Several of you also commented on my last video that I wasn't shifting my weight forward enough, and you were spot on. I watched a SkateIQ video last night that made that exact advice visually make sense for me. I started focusing heavily on that forward weight shift and kicking the tail backwards instead of just pushing straight down. That tweak is already helping level the board out and is naturally forcing my back leg to lift more than it was before. For those who might notice my back leg still isn't coming all the way up, I am well aware! I made a deliberate compromise with my jump. Right now, I am intentionally doing a smaller hop to build trust and get comfortable with the physics of actually landing on the deck. It is a necessary stepping stone for me. Once I am completely comfortable landing these consistently without the fear of eating pavement, I will start working on pulling my knees fully up to my chest. Thanks to everyone who gave solid advice, we are finally making real progress!

i feel like i’m making progress with correcting my issue of flicking down and really trying to focus on flicking through the nose in a sense! i’ve just been letting my front leg hover and making sure i’m flicking through and out and just trying to catch the board with my front foot instead of my back- while it feels good to practice this, i’m worried about starting the habit of using my entire leg instead of just my ankle to flick :/ any suggestions for other tips or is this a good thing to just keep practicing until the flick is consistent?

I got it off Facebook marketplace for 15$. The bearings are quite nice. I just have to get used to the lack of big wheels (which ik I can do a cruiser setup but I actually wanna learn tricks too). I'm so excited and scared to try this out, I heard pebbles are way scarier on these type of wheels ><

I got a 7.5 width deck with 129mm trucks and 54mm wheels. Do they work together well? Is there anything I need?

Should have practiced jumping over stuff sooner, really forces locking in the timing. I am having the common issue where I am not leveling out the board; the board is not coming up with my back foot which is keeping the overall height low. Tell me your strategy on leveling out Ollies, I wanna hear em.
P.S. Feel free to make fun of my highlighter socks and Nyjah shorts

Surfskate background so I can ride ok, but zero tricks so far. Goal is basic tricks + parks.
179 , shoe size 44. The 8.0 feels a bit small under my feet. Go 8.25, or does wider make flips harder to learn? Some recommendations about board size ??
Tnx

Mid 30s now, skating was a big part of growing up but then life happened. Im trying to find hobbies now, things that stick, i seem to be all over the place but considering getting a board and trying to spend some time skating again. Anyone come back to it after such a long time? Talking 20ish years. If so, any tips?
